Look your feelings are your feelings, but that being said, the fault here lies with you. Srry to say but your flip flopping is merely a growing stigma that’s plaguing the gaming industry. As an artist I know what quality control is, but gearbox did everything right in this instance. I feel srry for game creators because they have to deal with a growing demographic of flip flopper on a daily basis. No wonder the industry is suffering. I’m not trying to bash you or anything but this truly is an instance of you being a bit shallow with your wallet and placing the blame elsewhere.

Wouldn’t it be better to release new content after Overwatch? Regardless of what BB does, people are going to be playing Overwatch. I’ll be playing Overwatch for a bit when it comes out. But we’re going to get bored, and when that happens Battleborn releases a new game mode with new maps and a new character, that’ll attract people to come back to Battleborn for a bit.

People are really clinging to this two weeks thing. I definitely have come off different then what I intended or atleast people are just taking it different. I have enjoyed atleast some of the discussions made but definitely need to work on my approach on the forum from here on in. Regardless I can’t help but feel it launched a little light on pvp content. Purely my opinion. It may or may not be shared by others. Especially when the Month is so high in competition for player base of similar games. Some peoples are right that yes there is a lot of content overall. But I just feel like it’s not the content that will put the spark back in me picking up the game. Needs more maps and pvp diversity. I have got a taste for all the characters and some people argued okay well there are 25 even if you only like some of them have you mastered them with all the challenges. And well no I do not feel
Compelled to do so because I am bored with the content in which is required to play to do so.

Definitely a good point. But what about those who don’t want to play overwatch and just want more battle born. Do they get stuck waiting for people to get bored of overwatch? Both sides have strong arguments.

I can see why you feel that way. But I can’t help but want more for my money when everything is getting more and more expensive but content is the same. Not just in video games. And that’s where the problem your referring to starts. A discussion for somewhere else.

Almost felt like the game after sinking many fun hours into was just trying to tackle too many fronts and lacked content where I found enjoyment after my time trying its many vices.

Maybe I expected too much for $70? A possibility yes but I feel justified in asking for a little more.

This!!! This is the point!

As if I would quit my art/job everytime someone says I´ve to change my style or concept to get sales - sure, I love if people tell me how to do my job! duh…
I know my art sells well, so why bother with such opinions?
I´m sure GBX comes o the same conclusion, even if they are a huge company and I´m just a freelancing artist.

@jesseprocher your feelings regarding Battleborn are yours truly. You want more for your money? Okay, but its your responsibility to know what you´re paying for. Today thats the only responsibility customers have. If I dump money on something I don´t like later on I put shame on me, not demanding a rework of a game which got sold 1000times all over the world just to please me and me alone.

You came here to discuss your personal private feelings & opinions and the community responded in a way you do not like. Because most here have different personal feelings & opinions.
Its really no wonder this topic got personal and even toxic here and there.

Its personal view vs. personal view. 2nd most popular reason for warfare, rarely leading to something good.

Can we stop using borderlands 2 and the standard, it is the single best selling game in the history of 2k publishing, not every game can match that.

If every game could reach that then it would be average. Sure its a good things to strive for, but in reality you can’t expect that from everything.

I honestly feel sorry for you about that. But is that really something you can generalize, given the positive impression the game seems to have left on most other people?

As for maps, I agree with the fact, that there need to be more. But they’re coming.
I’d rather see them carefully releasing new maps. Apart from tweaks and fixes that will need to be done on every map (from a programmer’s perspective, some of those changes are never even seen by the players, given pre-release balancing), players need time to actually acclimate to new maps.

As for all the Overwatch arguments I’ve read on these forums, why do people take this so seriously?
I could be called a GBX fanboy, yet I don’t care much for comparisons or even rivalry with other games.
Yes, it all comes down to numbers. But I genuinely believe this game will have enough players to make it worthwhile for both the players and the company, regardless of another game’s sales or player numbers.
(And honestly, if GBX didn’t think so, they would’ve never released this game.)
Also, GBX employees have stated multiple times, that they don’t see a rivalry between OW and BB. So why make this more difficult than it has to be?

(My) First rule of buying immaterial content: You’re in no way allowed to actually demand anything more than what you paid for. So make sure to inform yourself thoroughly. Also, No Refunds!

With all that being said, I don’t see what my (positive) perspective could possibly offer to anyone who is already frustrated with the game.

It’s not so much the rivalry as much as it’s the next game coming out soon. R6:Siege pulled me back from Battleborn for a bit with their new Dust Line patch. R6:Siege and Battleborn are nothing a like and there’s not rivalry, but that update got me thinking of that game again.

A lot of people are going to take a break from Battleborn to play Overwatch, just like how I took a break from R6:Siege to play Battleborn. I intend to play all those games, but big updates is what will make me want to back and forth between games.

(I think I’m getting my point across, but I’m not sure. I suck at writing)

I see what your saying. But I didn’t say the game sucked or was horrible. I simply stated that after my 40-50 hours in game I felt like the game was content light after that point. Some people liked the idea of finishing lore and mastering all characters. Some people liked playing single player more then pvp. I understand that and take nothing from them for that. Some people really fixated on this 2 weeks how dare you ask for more. I opened the discussion with a way too broad starting point when I how I felt was very specific. I’ve addressed that but it’s too late now. I simply felt like I needed more pvp content to continue enjoying the game and there were others with similar opinions. I also feel like the games community will be dead on PC before I get the chance to really experience that new content.

But I at no point have stated that no one else is allowed to have their opinion. I have simply stated and tried to explain while I felt differently to opposing opinions. But so many people wanted to throw their opinion down my throat and say this is it take it or leave it. And sure my miscommunication added to that but at the end of the day I’m still bored with the pvp after many hours. definitely won’t approach these forums like this again.

I’m taking nothing from the game or saying its bad or not fun. Simply that after my time with game I feel it’s becoming stale. Regardless of all the heroes. Of course people are going to have other opinions. I’m not saying no one can disagree. I explained why I want more pvp content realities of getting the content aside. I just want to see more before I play heavily again.

As for the battle born vs overwatch both are competitive games That are releasing at same time frame so they are competing for player base. Some people just take it to the extreme and demand that one game must be better then the other even though they play different.

I use it because 4 years later and it’s beating there new ip in player base on PC. Sure not many games can live up to it but a brand new release only weeks in release and more people are playing borderlands 2. It’s really speaks to how bad it’s doing on PC and how low the player base is for battle born. Things look grim and I hope they turn around.

Would like to see more than just two maps per mode, but I find this to be a minor issue since the game is brand new, and it’s (most likely) biggest competitor, Overwatch, has about 20% of what this game has. I randomly chose that percentage, but seriously, the modes it does have are less involved than the capture maps, there is 0 story and almost 0 progression. Feels like about 20% to me.

I have to say, you’re getting your point across. And you do not suck at writing, as far as I’m concerned (I’m not even a native english speaker).
But what you describe happens on a day to day basis. At least for me it comes down to ‘What will I play in my gaming time today?’. So I don’t see any benefit in trying to plan for this (content release schedule etc.).

I’d say, you missed my point there. Your perspective on this game, and your disposition towards the existing or upcoming content is somewhat generalized through the topic title (‘Give us new content already’).
When there is a majority of players satisfied with the existing content and/or the development roadmap (as revealed to the players so far), yours remains a sole opinion.
Not that you’re not entitled to an opinion, but is there really any point in what you’re trying to accomplish here?
(Not really sure, what that would be anyway…)

No and I don’t intend to. I’ll play the characters I enjoy. That being said, the maps are the same no matter the character. Most games have more than 2 maps per mode when released. Your right, I should have researched first before buying. I’m not mad, I still like the game; but I get bored playing the same maps over and over even if it is with a different character. I feel like the price point was a little high for what it launched with.

No, they’re not. Playing a melee front-liner is drastically different from playing a sniper. Playing a mid-ranged DPS is vastly different from playing a melee assassin. The depth of gameplay in a moba doesn’t come from doing the same thing in a different place, it comes from doing a different thing in the same place.

And no, Most MOBAs do not launch with more than two maps per mode, and at it’s heart this game is an FPS Moba.
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised that there were two maps per mode, I expected one.

I suppose your right there. Cool, what additional modes are coming? TD i hope!

Two maps per mode and three modes at launch, is that right? Seems on par with certain other games I’ve played (which made all map expansion packs additional paid content.)

I really hope TD will come too! Loved the Renegade mission because you could have a TD-like feel in the last wave^^

Not sure if there was a word from the Devs what modes it will be, but I´m hoping for something fun & badass.

Based on a quick forum search, there seems to be a high demand for a cooperative horde/TD mode, like in Mass Effect 3’s Multiplayer.

While it may be too similar to certain defense parts of Story Missions for the more PvP-inclined, I would definitely love this.
