The issue is anything above the hotfix’s Guardian Rank cap (that was never noted as a hotfix or change) is freezing the game for a bit. Meaning any exp gain that would change the value of a capped number, the game has to analyze how to process and continue with something impossible to continue with because value is already over the cap. After a bit (20-45 seconds for me) it does come back playing, but if any additional exp gain again causes the freeze again and again.

The solution is easy. First, Devs need to note everything that is really changing in a triple a title like this one. Second, roll back the hotfix. Guardian Rank cap would be fine, but figure out what this failed attempt did to make the game unplayable on any character even if it is a new one. Guardian ranks affect new characters as well since there is not toggle on and off like there use to be in other Borderlands games.

BTW this is just one of the MANY posts of the same thing. After update this happened. It is causing a big chunk of the player base to not be able to play. This happened on the games first week of being out. This is not acceptable. No tickets are needed. Action by GearBox to fix this is needed.

Roll back the Hotfix/update to save GearBox’s player base

The instance is plain and simple in their face. The hotfix/update is the cause. There is not tiptoe around this issue. Roll back the whole thing, test the hotix’s/updates the right way before deployment. We do not need to be GearBox’s IT or try to diagnose their issue. Issue is after hotfix, players could not play.

What’s happening here is because players are over exceeded the max guardian rank… as what they said above for every kill meaning every exp would just crash or freeze the game for Atleast 3-5 mins so those over exceeded max guardian rank(1000) gets this problem. This never happen before until the patch was drop. Fixing the negative tokens wasn’t so bad but Atleast try to remove any unwanted rank … so we’re not over exceeding the max rank … it’s literally unplayable at this point … no new character can fix it since it’s universal

I understand that if one platform is having this issue then get info, fine. But ALL platforms are getting this SAME issue. Rollback is your ONLY option.

So Atleast remove the unwanted guardian rank the extra rank that’s not suppose to be there because some players are max rank and they over exceeded because they couldn’t fix the negative token in first place so there was no such thing as max guardian rank “

The delay is NOW with people not being able to play. If hotfix is rolled back, NO MORE DELAY!!

GearBox should have delayed this mess in the first place to test and make sure a failure like this should not have even existed.

Now that there is it’s literally crashing and freezing the game for every enemies killed right before they die like it’s literally unplayable at this point

Oh, and do not tell me there has not been enough tickets on this to narrow the cause down lol. This error has cause a complete STOP in players games.

I just hope they could fix this problem… don’t really wanna start over all the progression we did… would just have been wasting our time …at this point I’m not even sure if they could fix problems like this over exceeding max guardian rank causing it to crash and freeze…rolling back would just make Moreno complains from other players … it would be a disaster

Fix the issues noted, sure. Fix an issue that was never an issue nor was even noted as being a change in the hotfix? That would be a great big fail if there were hidden “Fixes” not mentioned in any patch notes. But this is one of them.

Problem: EXP gain of any kind = 20-45 seconds of the game to think about it all while the game is paused/froze. In a game where there are thousands of mobs that grant you this problem causing exp gain because of bad code to a hotfix and was never mentioned as being in the hotfix.

Solution is plain and simple. Roll back the hotfix since there was a hidden change that has made the game unplayable for a great part of the player base, and to hopefully keep that player base from ditching this game the first week it came out.

Really? No on-call guys to save your company.

It had came out yesterday and problems started yesterday. Gearbox didn’t look at stats and wonder why a big chunk of the players didn’t play more then a few seconds yesterday.

I am not trying to get on you about this. I know how crap gets deployed and the cases that things out there get deployed has backup plans to fix it or roll it back if it breaks something. I work for the IT department of the city I live in. We have server maintenance and such that we just need to retract sometimes. My point in pushing hard is that I like this game. If you have any ability to push this to someone that can take action then that is my goal.

I do see that you are a helper and was pointing people in the right direction to get something started. I appreciate your work.

I have tried to do offline where the game does not account for hotfixes. This does not work in this case. Something about this seems like what was updated Thursday was more then just a load base hotfix. It seemed more like an edit to the code locally by the hotfix.

I even tried to uninstall and reinstall. It is embeded into the new install as well.

I am on the PC Epic Games version.
