She definitely needs more health regen, but her focus on ammo regen has left her woefully under-par for actual reload speed, and she only has Scrappy for Handling, swap and mode change speed. Selfless Vengeance already feels pretty useless in any form of meta for her, so retooling that to fit those needs feel like it’d be a good move if they’re not already doing so with whatever her fourth(possibly) skill tree would have.
For a new COM, I’d say she could use something that boosts Means of Destruction and Armored Infantry, maybe with a point in Specialist Bear too to either give the skill to her free or double up the damage for Iron Bear, make Bottomless Mags as useful for it as it is for Moze herself. Armored Infantry is frankly the best 1st row skill in the entire game and not having it on a Legendary COM is kind of a crime.
For a Legendary affix, I’d say either make her get a fixed percentage health regen for Incendiary/Splash damage, or make it so that she gains a 1 to 5% life steal that increases as her current mag decreases. So the more panicked the situation that she’s draining ammo, the better she heals.
As much as I like the idea of new Moze coms and have another source of healing, i dont like the a idea of a com to fix Moze’s survivability issues.
The “Zane’s treatment” seems far from ideal IMO, because

Moze will be the same, instead of using grenades and vampyr now you need to use the new mod.
Introducing a new com to fix a problem, take away the chance of having another type of com that could be actually interesting. (I’m not saying that your idea is uninteresting by any means)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Moze doesn’t need survivability in a com but in the form of her skills. There are some skills that are almost worthless, like Force Feedback or Click, Click. The former is made fully obsolete by an early Guardian Rank perk while the latter actively works against it’s own skill tree. Both are fixable though: FF should proc shield regen based on the current max shield for a short period of time after killing an enemy. Let’s say 3% per second for 3 seconds. That’s not too much, but with the massive boosts to capacity it will protect you. And CC should just be reworked into a skill that grants additional gun damage and health regeneration the longer Moze holds down the trigger. Up to 30% gun damage + up to 10% health regen (after a total of 5 seconds of constant fire) would be pretty amazing already. Would be worth the points at least.
Alternatively to reworking skills and new class mods I would not be all against just a new kind of artifact (for everyone, not DLC exclusive). Gun Medic as I would call it could just grant general Lifesteal off of gun damage dealt. Obviously it shouldn’t be too much, but 5% should be possible at level 53 without breaking the game or anything. That would in turn also help Fl4k who has similar survivability issues, even if not as bad in my experience.
Click, Click is a great skill! It’s only counter intuitive if you’ve boosted mag regeneration beyond fire rate. If it’s on a smaller mag gun it’s a solid damage boost as the clip empties.
And although it may be counterintuitive, can still be used to great effect on high mag regen guns since you can cap the mag at a lower point via max ammo.

Also coming to the defense of Click Click here – there are so many ways to hover at the bottom of your mag and it synergizes extremely well with all of the mag size buffs you need to buy in order to get there.
Click, Click, Click is a fine skill… but it’s not for everyone. I hate running that low on a mag. I’m also one of those people that hate when the fuel gauge in my car gets below 1/4 of a tank.
I literally could not play Gaige past level 30 or so, because of the whole “don’t reload!” thing.
Moze had that to an extent, but… I don’t feel as bad losing Blast Master or Green Monster damage, compared to 150-300 stacks of anarchy… (Yes, I know she has discord; I still managed to screwed it up).
And going all the way down to Click, Click, Click prevents getting DiB, assuming you went all the way to SF to begin with… and DiB helps your teammates out, in exchange for being kill skill, and a minor loss of fire rate for you.
I’m hoping for a combo of this with a hp regen on damage added in. It needs to do more than just give her a heal that everyone else already has as a regular skill.
The problem with Click Click isn’t the mechanic. Sure, staying at a low mag can be difficult and requires significant building around. But so is moving fast and shooting, or having a bonus only on the last shot, or swapping weapons incessantly. But Violent Momentum, Money Shot and Elemental Barrage make these unergonomic playstyles worth it by being paired with a sufficiently large enough bonus to make this change in playstyle worth it. Click Click’s 12% per level bonus is criminally small - smaller than many skills which require much less hassle to upkeep (including some of Moze’s own skills). Bump up the damage to 40 or 50% per level and suddenly Click Click can be a great skill to build around, esp with Some for the Road.
I think that’s kinda too late now about the paywall. They already did it with Zane so it’s not a farfetched idea that they would do the same for Moze. I don’t see a chance that they will produce a “free” com from hereon until March 26th. All new coms will be behind the paywall (DLC) in my opinion.
Yes, she might be the same except you are not forced to go to the blue tree anymore but I get what you’re saying. I can see how this is just monkey patching the problem instead of fixing the core problem (but this is what they did with Zane anyway).
Edit: It’s less work dev wise to introduce a new com instead of fixing the root cause of the problem.

What if , like the redistrubter when shot through Zanes barrier amps every shot and thus chains every shot … Mozes new cmod could make the capstone skill Short Fuse a higher percentage to proc. Feels to greedy to say every shot…
One glaring imbalance on the kill skill thing like seeing dead. Phalanx Doctrine has no stack limit. That could get downright insane very quickly if it worked like Seeing Dead.
Immunity to my own splash damage and splash damage procing critical hits is what i have been wanting for EVER!!! I would LOVE this!!!
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and my com would boost fire damage.
Name: Magma Chamber.
Every 4th shot has a 15% chance to fire a plasma blast that deals 1000 fire damage and creates a 25 foot fire nova around target.
When dealing fire damage there’s a 5% chance to set your self on fire, while on fire gain immunity to fire damage and gain 60% damage reduction from all other damage type’s.
