I didnt know Juliet’s Dazzle could be x2, thats awesome!
The mag size is really small though. I agree it’s a top tier choice for Moze. Not sure how good it would work on a blastmaster build though. Maybe a splash build that uses the Bloodletter would be better for it since reloading is no big deal there.

JD is great for a splash build, but you have to x1 for blast master, x2 for bloodletter.
Also on sniper rifles; blast master is the secret to sniper proficiency, not bloodletter. I’ll explain later.

I have this Cryo Juliet’s with Incendiary next 2 mags as the centerpiece of my Torgue Matched Set build.
I will vouch that it is ridiculous and definitely top gear worthy.
Fully auto, splash, great damage. All around amazing AR.

True but critical hits don’t use ammo. Since the point of the weapon is to make critical hits, it would work fine with BM you just need to play good.

I’ve made it work on a splash build. DP means 2x chances to proc redistribution. Needs investment in the green tree, but the mag size gets up above 40 without using artifact and class mods. I agree bloodletter works, Green Monster also.

Here’s my case, for both single and DP.
Full Auto
- Allows Green Monster to be used.
High Damage
- works better with Mozes skills, such as short fuse and Mind Sweeper. Larger base damage is better when multiplied
Fire rate around ~ 6
- Responds to SRPMs boosts more efficiently than its nearest counterpart, the Q-System.
Splash
- Unlike the Q system or Lasersploder every shot is splash, so it’s more efficient at proccing PTHP and redistribution at the same time. This enables the smallish mags to sustain themselves, with some skill point or artifact help.
- receives splash bonuses and activates splash skills
Mags
- both versions can roll with a 22 or higher mag which refills on kill, sustainable with Blast Master.
Penetrating/Ricochet
- the round does splash damage on HIT then passes through the target hitting multiple targets, ricocheting and finishing in an explosion that further damages.
- can shoot through ‘destructible’ cover
- the shots reflect at least once useful for hitting targets behind cover.
Cons:
Projectile speed is slow, hard to learn. Can be countered with class mod.
Firing pattern arcs slightly forcing some adjustment to aim, making sights harder to use.
Just about requires use of Matched set or other mag boosting coms to be run with Blast Master, but can be done, I’ve soloed Wotan without reloading.
Overall, it’s stronger than its next two peers by a mile.
I’d suggest the single as the better option,
The DP as second.

I took a level 53 non-elemental single pellet version of the Juliet’s Dazzle with +72% projectile speed on a couple runs of TVHM M4 Athenas with no positive modifiers on a Deathletter build, and it wrecked shop. Between Redistribution/Means of Destruction (and some gear-based magazine passives) maintaining ammo during a kill and the special effect restoring my ammo after, I could maintain my two-mag anointment for quite some time without reloading. I can definitely see the reasoning for calling it Moze’s top AR, or at least Top Gear.

Yeah, I definitely overlooked Dazzle on first inspection. I got that one for free or whatever, popped a few caps. Shot at my feet, didn’t think it was splash, then retired it without testing(bc I was looking for splash weapons to test).
Weeks later someone on the forums(possibly you @cailte) was talking about it being splash, so I replaced my Alchemist in my Torgue Matched Set build and ain’t looked back.
Dazzle is amazing. Especially the Cryo version I have with Incendiary next 2 mags.
I can hop in SS and never even need to switch weapons or reload and wreck the whole shop down.
Great weapon.

Add headsplosion to top gear. Build and explanation coming when I can be asked.

Honestly if you want to argue it’s place in top gear you should show it perform on something other then Athenas. Literally everything looks strong there it’s some of the easiest content in the game. Show it dominating SS or running Takedown or something like, we’re talking “top gear” afterall.
Another thing is I’ve noticed that the Maliwan mobs don’t seem to have scaled well to 53. For example my Iron Bear when using my Bearonator build is hitting those mobs (in Athenas) 100k+ for crits but when I take the same build to Slaughter Shaft against COV mobs it’s hitting a more normal 30-50k.

i’ve run Anvil with it and the WI plenty and they both do perfectly fine. Athenas was just what I happened to be doing while i recorded it.
these snipers will never be SS or takedown gear on moze, period, because of how precise you have to be. it still stands that 1m crits that splash and ricochet are good, and make these snipers some of the best clearing gear you can use where applicable.

Well the new Valentine sniper is definitely SS material as I’ve already cleared it several times using it, whereas the Headsplosion isn’t. That makes the Wedding Invitation closer to ‘top gear’ and the Headsplosion more in the territory of ‘honorable mentions’. The only problem with the WI being top gear is it’s limited availability.
@sonicgundam I’m actually curious though. Have you tried it in Slaughter Shaft since the 53 update? I know with the way weapons scale vs the way enemies have scaled some things that weren’t viable on M4 before are becoming viable again so maybe it was enough to make it good now I haven’t checked Headsplosion yet specifically. You don’t need to be able to clear it to prove it’s good just show it can do good damage vs the Armored targets in there.

no, because i’m not playing with a mouse/keybo so i can’t be precise enough to use it there. i’m using it purely from a “sniping” perspective.
however, if you’re having success with the WI, try and farm a better lvl 53 headsplosion. i’m testing them both, and the headsplosion generally out performs the WI, as it suffers smaller penalties before it hits flesh, hits more targets, and has higher potential base damage. it reaches overkill damage much more easily, meaning losing your overkill bonus is less detrimental to progression.

Carrier with 125% fire for two mags and green monster com is top tier too.

I’ll second that. Carrier is good. Where do we stand on the projectile effect? Is it a bug or a feature? It’s great for sustain with a mindsweeper com.

Took a cryo Dazzle to TVHM M4 Slaughter Shaft. Cleared it in about 45 ~ 50 minutes with a Deathletter build using only the Dazzle and the occasional use of Iron Bear along with the usual tracker spam for health regen. I seldom do the Slaughter Shaft, but it was definitely pulling some weight. Mine had the 125% incendiary anoint (which probably contributed a lot admittedly) which was well-maintained despite continuous minutes of firing at a time due to the refill ability.
Even without my testimony, it has double the fire rate of a Stranger and a decent chunk more damage along with the innate effects. It just meshes well with Moze’s kit.

I want to put forward a pitch for the Eruption as a top gear assault rifle. It almost single handedly makes a pure nade spam build work at mayhem 4 and with a dedicated build can be part of the keys to running true Takedown.
Here’s an example of me using a Mind Sweeper Eruption build vs True Takedown
At this point I think its a feature.

My only question here is: If they fix the exploit of keeping it perpetually on ‘overheat’ mode, is it still top-tier?

Probably not, although to me it would still be an honourable mention. 160% v1 damage is amazing for Moze and allows for insane burst damage.
I don’t however see why that should interfere with it being top gear now. The exploitation of it also isn’t necessarily an easy fix and would require a patch meaning we have atleast another month with it.
