I’ve been fiddling around with a few guns for this build, and there are two that may be worth considering for it. An x19 Scattergun, and the Tidal Wave (with 25 pellets). The Scattergun has the benefit of dealing almost as much damage and basically having infinite ammo with Leave No Trace and Megavore active (could be handy with 50% Mag anoints). Meanwhile the Tidal Wave hits like an absolute truck (though the projectiles are slow and inaccurate and don’t ricochet to other enemies, gotta use it point-blank. Might only be worth it on bosses). Here’s a few screenies comparing damage to the x25 Stagecoach without Fade Away, anointments, Stackbot stacks, or on-hit skills active on a Jakobs build.

Dope suggestions and thanks for the well written comment with screenshots! Both are good options. Scattergun has a nice spot due to it giving more than one quality option while we’re digging through Earl’s Vending machine for a Stagecoach or just farming in general. We’ve messed around with them a bit and have 2 set ups that will probably pop up using one or the other. At least mentioning them. The more quality options the better

I always like to promote mixing up a build or set up a bit to fit the person’s general play style or what they enjoy the most. That customization makes it feel better. Love seeing this build still getting played and getting suggestions

Have you fiddled with the band of sitorak with the gunboy build at all? I’m loving storak+fadeaway with this for takedown and mobbing situations. By the time your shields down fadeaway is back up and your invis again with even more dps and speed. The recharge and max health just seem like im tankier than with a stop gap

I’ve strayed away from Sitorak for the sake of avoiding the glitches/exploits I’ve heard about. Feel like it would kind of taint the perception of the builds a little bit. It’s in a weird spot for me personally. This post dives into some of the before mentioned interactions. Feel free to use it though.

It’s all up to you honestly lol. Feel free to use it. It’s not like some of the shield glitches where people pop shields for 20 to 30 minutes before they can actually play. Glad to hear about Rico. Rico 80% absorb is absolutely disgusting. Can walk around 95 percent of takedown with it without a care in the world. Definitely up there on shields. Just works a bit worse in the Wotan fight from my experience
I just use it for the absorb on dot damage. You can get irradiated when using gamma burst and the shield will absorb the dot ticks
With the new level cap increase my 18xBangstick will become obsolete pretty quickly.
Since it took like months to find one, what could be a farmable substitute for boss killing? Purple gear is way too random to focus farm and I would like something to concentrate on to replace my favourite toy…

x18 Bangstick should still hold its own fine. Torgue weapons will handle the transition well because of their limitless damage potential - just fire a few extra shots after FA ends, and generally most things will die.
Otherwise, the best and easiest farm for boss killing is probably an Ion Cannon (for Gunboy at least), given its pretty much a guaranteed drop from Fabricator.

Don’t want to scoot by the “purple gear is way too random to focus farm” comment. Yes, your comment is correct if you are farming an enemy, Earl’s vending machine, etc.
However, I would suggest that you try the Eridian Gungun. A few thousand eridium and a Gungun, and you generally can get ahold of something resembling the purple or blue that you were seeking, and generally with a good anointment.
I think I have like maybe 15,000 eridium on my Fl4k and have purchaser all the cosmetics, so the only thing left is Gungun, which actually now has a use again with the level cap increase - farming for a new Stagecoach and Masher AR!

The 18x Bangstick I use doesnt even have an annointment. Using ase annointments on shield and nade, its overkill for most Bosses in the current state of the Game on M4/TVHM.
Although its not easy to use against every boss imho.
If it is, it shreds through HP and shield in a few seconds. I expect it to be at least usable.
After blowing all the eridium my Moze and my Zane had without finding anything decent (about 10k total eridium) my faith in the gun gun is at its lowest…
I guess I’ll use what I find and deal with it.

Bummer. I generally find at least a few pretty good weapons with decent anoints when I farm the gungun for 20 minutes or so.
But of course, it’s all RNG. My comment was not so much aimed directly at you as it was just a reminder to folks that when they are farming new gear after the level cap increase, some of the purple and blue gear can come from GunGun.
Welp, Level 53 on M4, all the Level 50 guns still kill everything super quick. I get downed quicker sometimes, but it doesn’t seem too Bad.

Dope to hear, ran the grenade set up through True Takedown a little earlier with level 50 gear and it was smooth so Gunboy should be in an even or even better spot overall
