Like many in these forums, I have way beyond 2000 plus hours of BL2 play. I never used Salvador, gunzerking was never my thing. I finally gave it a go, and while I thought nothing much of NVHM and TVHM, UVHM is pretty enjoyable with Sal
One annoyance though, is why does the gun reload occassionally stick? In the middle of a zerker spree, his gun jams, quite regularly, mainly with pistols. Nothing worse than in a fight, realizing the grog has been just sitting there not auto reloading. Been the cause of at lest 75% of my gunzerker deaths
What a crappy problem to what has been a very exciting UVHM character. I have tried all sorts of things to get sort it out but it still happens, especially with Harold. Any ideas?

Iām fairly certain thatās a glitch related to Inconceivable. Sadly, I donāt think thereās any workaround, youāll just have to bite the bullet or not use the skill.

As @pixelkatana said, itās related to Inconceivable, itās a bug that they never fixed. I theorize that if you get to an empty magazine and then it triggers a free shot while on 0 ammo, it then doesnāt auto reload because the game thinks you still have 1 ammo left. Itās only a theory though.

It only happens if you take your finger(s) off the trigger.
Keep firing and it will reload. It happens to me all the time.
If Inconceivable procās and you stop firing(cause what you were aiming at is now dead). youāll have to manually reload cause you were procing moneyshot chains through Inconceivable and didnāt allow the chain to stop on its own which will happen, you just got to keep holding the triggers.

I prefer to think of it as Sal saving you some ammo, because heās a nice guy

What @Kurtdawg13 said- just pretend you have the Keep Firing skill and hold the trigger until the reload animation is over before switching to your other set of weapons. If you donāt wait for the reload to finish and switch to youāre other weapon set, youāll have to manually reload when you go back to your first setā¦

To be specific: it happens when Inconceivable is active while at Zero ammo. Obviously, you will not get the reloading proc since the gun isnāt really empty yetā¦as long as the skill is āonā. If you let go of the trigger at that moment, youāll stay at zero ammo and will have passed the reloading proc point. You can reload manually.
Workarounds: Never let go of the triggers or be aware of your mag and reload whenever you have breathing room.

Reload often before you reach the end of the mag or if you recognize that you are getting a Money Shot chain do not let go.
Or play Hoarder and not worry about reloading or boolats.

Thanks everyone, always amazed at the technical knowledge of some of our gamers here.
When Sal is on his killing spree, its hard to just stop and pay attention to ammo & reloadā¦and yes I should. Iām just enjoying what he does too much.

Unfortunately, āhold down the triggerā is neither valid nor tactically sound with Jakobs guns. Even with non-Jakobs shotguns I donāt find it to be a sound tactic; I always go for individual aimed shots rather than hold the trigger bullet-hosing.
Seems like Inconceivable is a skill for use with Vladof pistols, while shotguns would probably be better with All In The Reflexes. Iām leaning towards a respec to that effect after this Inconceivable glitch caused a few unnecessary FFYLs in his last run.

I frequently run into this with Jakobs and has simply trained myself to recognize the symptom. Itās inconvenient but not troublesome.

I am pretty sure Inconceivable will not proc while using a Jakobs. only automatic weapons. That is why you donāt spec into it if using the Deputy Build.

Iām pretty sure it does, because there were several occasions where my Bushwhack was stuck refusing to fire with zero ammo loaded. Since respeccing out of Inconceivable that problem has disappeared.

I can assure you it does. Iāve had the intended no-ammo-consumption proc and the no reload glitch. My entire 0 - OP4 has been with dual Jakobs so Iāve had plenty of opportunity to experience it.
- unless itās the crack

Iāll have to take your word for it, which is fine. I trust you. Both of you actually. @Jefe
Logically, I didnāt think it could occur. as far as I know, you canāt chain jakob moneyshots through inconceivable. so, it just stalls out on the reload? not chaining the moneyshots?

I get very few MS chains with Jakobs ( edit : I believe Iāve never had any ) - any chains I get are from non-Jakobs if Iām cheating ( Heart Breaker , Rubi ).

you both are correct. just checked. i couldnāt get money shot to chain more than twice when using a ROM or Twister. that is when i had to manually reload. i would get 5 or so free shots in a row when i had 1 or more still in the mag. when it came to money shot time i could only manage 2. i wonder if more are possible?

I wish my build could work without Inconceivable - but it canāt. I canāt remember getting a double chain, but Iām not super aware about this kind of thing ( Iāve only been able to spec MS until late in the build - so not much experience ).
Edit - @Kurtdawg13 - I specād out of Inconceivable last night for a bit to see if the increased DPS would offset the increased ammo consumption ( I run Triquetra right hand / Coach Gun left hand - so fairly bad with ammo ). This is my setup .
It was freaking great but not sustainable. I couldnāt tell if there were any chains because the guns often hit MS at the same time.

Looks good. I gave a small recommendation on your build.
