Also, the initial pellet is the Pimp’s own ( thus if it’s slag, you get a very high chance to slag first ) - all the pellets in the flower take on the RL’s element.
Again, you can even grab a level 50 from TVHM.

This, and only the secondary projectiles of the Pimp get the damage of your main hand.
And as Kurt said, if you want Money Shot to proc you need to empty your main hand but if you don’t care about having Money Shot active, keep your rockets. It can be useful to run a jumpzerker (PimpAhab + two Badabooms and a Sham) for intense farming for example.
Sljm made a post about this combo :

Okay, biggest question remaining:
- If I go in at level 70, with a level 65 (+/-) Trespasser, will that be enough to one-shot the chief? If no, then with Money Shot? If still no, then with Money Shot, 5 Shots or 6, and a Bee?
If I get that shield and the chief outta the way right away, then I’m fairly confident I can finish the fight straight-up with Grog/Harold at least two times in three with no further issues.
Related question:
- What’s the trigger for the chief to transfer his shield? Is it a flat time, based on Vora’s health, or what?
@Jefe Well, as cheese-free as Sal can go. There’s apparently a hidden crit bonus in Grog Nozzle that transfers from the off hand; never mind the drunkenness.

level of Trespasser is irrelevant. you are only utilizing it’s special ability to bypass shields.
pretty sure it’s timed. you’ll get a feel for it after doing some runs.

Understood. But the level 19 one I cleaned out of the bank yesterday? Even with crit modifier and Money Shot, it can’t kill a common psycho at my level. Level isn’t relevant per se, but it and the fixed Hyperion barrel are the biggest factors determining its damage. Critical damage depends on that, in turn. If the chief has 1 hit point, then it’s irrelevant. If he has 1.5 million hit points, then the level question is VERY relevant, even if we’re only talking about a single shot (like we are) in the fight.
But allow me to rephrase the question:
- WILL a level 65 Trespasser do enough damage to the chief with a critical hit to kill him? Etc.

Sorry @TheRAbbi if this is completely unhelpful

I grabbed Maya’s Creamer and slag pimp and rekt Vora so fast I didn’t know it was possible. I did it with a variation on the build I posted earlier. Everything taken out of 5or6 and put into All in the Reflexes and Bubblegum.
Bee to start ( admittedly unnecessary ), Neo after , explosive relic , L Gun COM ( although I realize a Monk would be better ).
OF NOTE - I left the Chief and concentrated on Vora to keep his agro down…Chief transfers shield…kill Chief to trigger NKLO…the overkill damage takes its shield down extremely fast…pop a midget whenever you need to trigger NKLO again : witness ridiculous damage.
5 Hawkeyes , 1 fire Lead Storm and 4 Interfacers later…

The level is completely irrelevant. That’s what Kurt’s saying : the Trespasser’s ability to bypass shields is transferred to your other gun. It could be level 1 - the other gun will kill him using the Trespasser’s ability.
Put another way : you’re not even going to fire the Trespasser, just have it equipped.

Okay. Understood.
Nonethess, say I WANT to take the shot with Trespasser. Call me a newb (again), but I’m kinda like that. Trespasser in third slot. Means one less thing I have to mess with, one less thing that can get screwed up, during the fight. Hell, if I don’t need a Bee for the shot, then this is even easier- no need to swap any gear at all.
DOWN the road, yeah, I get that about Trespasser. But call it my need to prove something to myself. At least one time, I wanna do this while able to at least pretend that offhand weirdness doesn’t exist and it’s just a dude able to fire two pistols at once.

That’s cool.
You’re at level 70 right? I would guess that a level 65 would take 10 crits - but remember it’s bolt-action so very slow.
I seem to recall it takes 3 with one on level but that’s fuzzy memory.

NOW we’re getting somewhere. Was that with:
- Money Shot
- 5 shots or 6
- Bee, or any amp shield
- any other damage-buffing gear (COM, relic, etc?)
Getting a Bee on-level is easy. A COM with general gun damage % buff is easy. Etc. Pretty sure I can get 3 shots out with a reasonably average Trespasser in that time; I can get 4 on Pete from landing til he chases me down at the raid post. More than that, though, might get uncomfortable. Hmm…
Hey, thanks for that reply! THAT is the kind of stuff I’m digging for here!

Until today, I’ve never done Vorac with Sal. Krieg ( bloodsplosion of course ) and Axton ( Baby Maker spam ). I don’t remember the Chief part of those fights at all. Honestly, I think I’m poorly equipped to advise much more than my super-cheese method.
Again, I’m pretty sure your gun will require something approaching/exceeding 10 shots if it’s 5 levels under - maybe equip another gun in the other slot just in case.
A Bee will go down after about 5 or 6 seconds, so it won’t help with the Chief.
Money Shot will speed up the fight considerably ( with Inconceivable, I got what seemed like 6 or 7 chains a few times ) .
A Chaotic Evil Monk COM with +6 Money Shot OR a L Gunzerker ( former for more DPS / latter to keep GZing more reliably ).
?helpful? I’m rather tentative doling out Sal advice when no one else is here to keep me in line.

An on-level Trespasser and a Bee should be able to one shot the Chief. You don’t really need anything else if you really want to kill him this way. He doesn’t have a lot of health, as Vorac doesn’t have a lot of health compare to others invincibles.
no need for that. If you also have an on-level Bee, the damage from the gun itself becomes insignificant.
If you’re not sure, you can always leave it at 1 ammo and swap it out before gunzerking to get Money shot on top.

BIG help, Jefe. (Imagine I said that in Pablo’s voice.)
I wonder how he (the chief) reacts to singularity nades. Pretty sure he’s got a max range on his attack. Might be able to gank him back after a couple shots, take a couple more, continue as needed. Vora seems fairly tame while he’s still up. Hmm…

With Money Shot no doubt Chief will be OS.
Personally I don’t bother too much, I’m just equipping the Trespasser in my off hand and then swap it for a Lady Fist once Chief is dead.

I personally take out Vora with a Deputy setup… it’s no the best, but it works just fine
Just carry a legendary Gunzerker in your backpack and swap it out if you’re about to run out of gunzerk

I’ve seen the Deputy Sal stuff you did, and I think an in-depth Sal discussion video with Derch. Cool stuff!
I’m definitely gonna try that out after I finish climbing the ladder, but that’s a couple levels and eight Peak runs away yet. Gonna need a reset since I already grabbed Orphan Maker and Deputy’s Badge in the 60s. Also wanna do a KittehZerker down the road.
Today, I’m just tryin’ to figure out the Voracidous fight without exploiting offhand antics or anything. Give it 2 or 3 straight successful runs, and then I’ll happily PimperHab Vora to death for a full set of Interfacers (then on to the Dragons for Blockade, BECAUSE REASONS!).
Here’s what I’ve learned so far from everyone’s VERY MUCH APPRECIATED responses:
-
Kill the chief before he transfers shield to Vora
-
If you can, do some damage to tame Vora before killing the chief
-
Trespasser can be helpful to kill the chief before the shield transfer
-
Money Shot should make short work of the chief with Trespasser
-
Sal has ridiculously many viable builds for this fight; Sandhawk need not apply
-
For future reference, Trespasser in the off hand transfers shield bypass to the right-hand weapon, so one can choose any suitable headshot gun against the chief to ensure hilarious success.
I wonder, has anyone tried PimperHab with Topneaa, PBFG, Norfleet, or Prazma Cannon, to see if those effects transfer? And does Trespasser bypass Hyperius’s shield when his minions are up (so as to offhand one and allow spamming him down to froggy phase without wasting time on the minions)? Off topic, but anyway.
Anyhow, current state of the plan for Vora is:
-
Grog, DPUH, Trespasser, PBFG/fire, L. Berserker, Alkaline shield (maybe Bee for chief first, then swap), current Ancients health/stockpile relic, Chain Lightning and/or slag singularity with short fuse time.
-
Pre-position far from Vora, where I’ll have time and a clear shot at the chief.
-
Trespasser to top off the Chief.
-
Shield-swap (if necessary).
-
Gunzerk; tank Vora in the face with Grog/Harold.
-
Fire PBFG (lacking Norfleet, Badaboom, or Topnea right now) for FFYL.
Things yet to be determined:
-
Can a singularity nade pull Vora out of the windup for its novas?
-
How many shots, and with Money Shot or Bee, will it take to top the chief?
Also, thinking it may be worthwhile to farm a Storm Front here. Long duration, constant damage, makes for decent healing during reloads and cooldowns.
