The railguns boosts are my hope. If they don’t boost, I’m afraid I’ll still be doing silly point blank un-augmented rocket volleys.

Can u imagine critting a perfect double fire railgun with that damage boost?

So, a 45% boost to all IB damage? If so, that can be useful. If I can stay up long enough to shoot. And if the glitch that cancels IB is finally fixed. Don’t think they mentioned that, actually…

Aren’t hard points the weapons you set on the action skill? I’m wondering if it was just to ensure melee attacks don’t get the damage bonus… And dakka bear turret misses it too

Hm. That might have been it. But there was a general damage buff to IB damage, among buffs from specific skills. Three of them buff my build, so I’m looking forward to see how much of a difference there is.

This. Hard points are the modular points the weapons for IB attach to.

Do the rocket pods count as “hard point damage” ?

I think hard points are all weapons that IB equips, if the definition we came up with is correct.

What would be something that isn’t Hard Point damage then?

Any weapon that IB can’tshoot, basically. If it’s a weapon that is equipped to IB, it’s a hard point, apparently.

but what would be a weapon that IB can’t shoot? You mean his Turret from Dakka Bear / Fist augments ?

Like one your character holds. I’m not sure about dakka bear, but I would assume since it is attached to IB, then it should be a hard point, and since the claws are attached too, they should count. By “shoot” I meant use.

It’s weird that they would word it that way then. Why not just say IB damage is increased. Why add the “Hard Point” in there?

You’re right. Finding out what skills affect what is difficult. I thought Experimental Munitions affected IB before, but suddenly now it does!

The tutorial that shows up when you play Moze calls them Hard Points. That’s what they’re called, and they expected players to have read the prompts they gave to know what their ability is called. That’s why they called them Hard Points, because they’ve called them Hars Points since launch.

Yeah I guess they might have, but I’ve played 5 days of gameplay with moze and never seen that. Outside of the tutorial, I don’t see much telegraphing of that terminology. Seems unreasonable to assume most players would just kinda know that. I’m just assuming a developer lives in terms they use at work every day and referred to it that way without thinking about what players might know.

In any case, I kinda wish they’d be more clear what is being affected. What’s the calculation? When are certain bonuses applied? Are they multiplicative? Etc.

kinda weird then when they also have skills that just say “increase iron bear’s damage” - why word it in 2 different ways that means the exact same thing? it’s just confusing and makes you wonder if it’s something specific like only weapons that shoot bullets and not rockets / granades / railgun / throwers. it’s cool tho, scorching RPM does apply to everything (didn’t check bear fist tho)

That’s exactly what I thought (applies to “bullet” augments only). Maybe it’s just a case of two different people/teams writing the descriptions for the skills

All of Iron Bears damage was buffed including Dakka bear. it does about 2.4x more damage against the vehicle in sanctuary.

It also recieves damage buffs from the skills that specifically stat they increase iron bears damage (except Stainless Stell bear because that doesn’t work).

My Dakka turret does about 1500 of damage per shot. Not too shabby for a bunker gun.

I am just waiting on them to fix Stainless Steel Bear for even more damage.

But, since we are speaking of names, why is the energy elemental weapon a railgun instead of a lazer? Don’t railguns fire physical rounds at high velocity?
