I’ve been maining Reyna for a while now and the most infuriating issue with her is when her overshield doesn’t land because the skill doesn’t recognize them quick enough due to going through the stages of activating the skill. I think adding an Alani-esque HUD overlay already showing who the target to be healed would be beneficial for every healer.
Even characters like miko whose heal beam locks onto npcs could help reduce issues. I would love it even more if it was toggleable in the options menu so it so people can’t complain about their HUDS getting too cluttered.
The problem with Reyna’s tracking compared to Alani’s is that it is not as reliable.
Alani has a good reasonable area that you can be within to heal the target. Reyna’s on the other hand drops off the target at the slightest change in aim which causes you to repeatedly press the LB button a billion times before you land.
Also it has a travel time so you can actually end up healing someone that’s dead more than Alani usually does.
Not sure if it is working as intended, but it is something I definitely had to get used to, and occasionally causes me issues in saving people or myself
Can’t agree enough. Spamming lb trying to get the overshield to hit is incredibly frustrating. Many badasses have died to me being unable to target them properly, or better said, being able to target them but having ten move a millimetre to the side and I lose the lock a split second before I release lb. it’s a very unreliable skill to get off.
I love Reyna. She’s a blast to play, but she in general needs a bit of QoL work. Between the overshield cast issue and her pistol reload cancelling where you think her pistol should be reloaded due to the sounds and animation completing, then use another ability to early to realize that you once again need to go through the pistol reload animation because you cancelled it has caused me many deaths.

Both Reyna’s and Alani’s target tracking can get erratic, when teammates are bunched up in the same place. That’s something one must learn to work with.
Not, that I say I get 100% accuracy on that But on a ‘wasted’ Wellspring, I know I alone am to blame. With Reyna’s Shield Booster, it actually feels like a malfunction of the Skill.
(In my experience, I actually tend to be more careful with the targeting when playing Alani. Probably a result of having a targeting icon active at all times.)
Also, I have my Skill Buttons set to ‘Hold & Release’ (allows very fluent play, if you know which skills are instant cast per default, e.g. Thorn’s Ult).
And while I noticed the short travel time is also heavily affected by lag (near instant on good connection, up to a second with high latency), I think the actual delay between Skill Activation and Targeting has caused more deaths for me.
