When you play Claptrap I highly recommend putting 1 point in ‘Safety First’ before anything else as it is an amazing survival that is broken in a way that makes it even better.
Yes all of the elements can be added to other guns and splash damage that can’t crit.
Sounds like a plan to me. Using Jacobs stuff on jack. And the. Running an explosive clap trap. I’ll take a look at the skill trees.

Your welcome. And I know right, they even added an option for you to equip all purple and legendary coms pre-Holodome. Although Aurelia’s is incomplete and some of the skills are wrong, the other 5 are fine.
I looked at jacks skill trees and came up with this build which should work good with Jacobs guns and let the digi jacks help a lot to.

Diversify and On My Mark are kinda worthless. Diversify is truly bad and OMM is glitched in a bad way. And Hero Pose/Delegation are devalued IMO since you are specced into Winning and Leadership which make you unkillable with a turtle shield. Why no health regen?

Looking at your update, I would peel off 2 points and put on is optimism and one in potential. OMM can be one of those points. Other than that just move them around and see what you like.
Most delivery methods grenades have don’t really work with this skill. Especially longbow, so you can really only use homing. And plus you have to be pretty close to the enemy to target them, and its only 2 free grenades per action skill. Its not even worth the skill point IMO as Jack’s Cashe is infinitely better.
I looked at optimism is it good at just 1/5? Also I thought I picked potential lol I was going to.
Its more to get your Jack’s to die faster. Every time they respawn they will have 1 less second of life. So the base is 10 seconds and you can get it down to 2 seconds, making it so you don’t have to run away to kill them, they’ll just die fast on their own. And all your kill skills proc more often, including ones that can stack like TTF and Jack’s Cashe ect… And the nova can stun enemies.

Most likely a cryo nova shield so I don’t have to worry about doing the freezing myself
