Slag and fire. Farm the second treants off to the left where the mimic chest is. Pretty easy to kill and between the chest and the treants you should get some usable gear. The First blacksmith treant and the dice and mimic chests there can also get you some good gear. The second treant there never drops anything but the mimic chest behind him has pretty good class mods. I have gotten many bees there also. I have only gotten bees off the first blacksmith treant, the orc camp ones, and the bloodfruit pool ones. Try fast travelling to Fabled Woods, backtrack to the back of the orc camp, go through the gap in the fence and then run past the orcs to the blood pool. It can be tricky, but you can learn to pull it off and get to those treants without fighting all those orcs. Of course, you miss out on the two treants in the main orc camp, who can drop the bee…
Good gear can also be had by running past all of Hero’s Pass, transitioning to the Warrior’s Vault, then travelling back to Hero’s Pass. You will be next to that last red chest with no enemies. If you save on the Warrior Vault side, then step back to the Pass before save/quitting, you will respawn literally right next to the red chest. Many etech weapons there, eridium, cash and I’ve even gotten my corrosive Conference Call there.
I too struggled with this DLC when I was stuck with 50-ish gear and I and the enemies were at 52-54. It gets better around the high fifties, and in the latter sixties, it gets easier and funner. I’m loving the game at the level cap, and will take on Digistruct when I feel bored.
Another good easy farming run is Knuckledragger. Keep killing him until you get a twin or floated hornet. this thing is corrosive, but the twin version does massive damage and is all-around useful. Enter Knuckledragger’s arena from the back side, not from Claptrap’s place as it’s an incredibly short run. You can literally kill him dozens of times in an hour. He always drops one pistol. It will usually fly toward the tunnel back to the beginning of the game. It can be hard to see, so watch carefully and look thoroughly each time.
Good luck and keep at it. Let me know if you need some help. I am neveru_mind on Steam. The same enemies you can’t seem to beat, I now dissolve with ease. Don’t get frustrated or give up. It gets way funner. The Duke of Orc is cake for me now, and will be for you.
Another good gun that’s not too hard to get is the Lady Fist from the Uncle Teddy mission in Arid Nexus/Fyrestone. I kept a clean save and repeatedly overrwrote my save file until I got one I liked (redundant/shock). Of course, I then ran back to the Sanctuarly Stash and saved good ones before save/quitting, then restoring from my mission uncompleted save. I have a nice little collection of Lady Fists, but mostly only use the Redundant/shock one. Two rounds per shot, 800% crit damage, accurate and good rate of fire. Very useful gun.
