Hey can we get some Zane buffs

I really have to disagree with this strictly because it is extremely redundant. Calm cool and collected literally does that.

I really can not stress enough how great throwing 2 or 3 of your grenade mod would be here - you could use cryo hexes and get the effect you’re suggesting when using CCC.

“Almighty Ordnance - SNTNL throws 2 or 3 of Zane’s currently equipped Grenade mod. If those grenades get a kill, you can use almighty Ordnance again.
Almighty Ordnance can only be used once per uptime of SNTNL.”

I mean, Ghast Call alone would be pretty funny. I was thinking more the Trans-Fusion, and the not necessarily damage grenades, but even something like the Porcelain Pipe Bomb could be over the top here.

The issue isn’t it not killing Badasses by itself, it’s the constant rain of grenades on a character you’ve already pointed out can reliably have infinite grenade. One of SNTL’s upgrade skills also drops a free one reliably.

We’re not discussing this in a vacuum, right? We’re discussing this with every other buff in the mix. You have to consider the extreme end of the potential for each build in addition to raising his general output. That’s why balancing Zane is more difficult than it appears - conceptually, he’s a very intricate Vault Hunter, even compared to FL4K (for example, with the pet reliance).

Also I’d want more reliable ways to build into infinite action skill, but that’s an aside. I’m just talking about the augment here, which by itself, right now, does pretty decent damage in of itself. The main limitations are you can’t re-use it, and the damage type is very limited. Changing one of those limitations would be enough to make it a decent augment - not both.

Honestly I don’t think there’s any grenade really that would make my suggestion insane.

However, if we got our grenade mod instead of rockets in general I would call it a win.

Just think about it as it is right now, the rockets from almighty ordnance do 10k damage. There’s 4 missiles for 40k damage.
Even if you want to lower it to 2, 2 of any grenade in the game don’t even really match that damage, and if they do they are not homing grenades.

Overall I think it would add fun + utility and a chance to be able to use it multiple times instead of just once, and not making the skill completely redundant.

And when you bring up transfusion grenades, that’s actually cool you mention it, because there’s a lot of people who don’t like using Zane’s barrier, maybe that’s a valid survival strategy they have to dump some gear and use an augment for, even if they don’t get a kill, it’ll come back up next time they get SNTNL active.

Overall the buffs being asked for in this thread are to just make useless/weak skills and augments viable, if literally EVERYTHING being asked for was given I don’t think it would make him OP, I think it would just make him really good.

On top of that there’s augments Amara has like Ties That Bind - linking 4 enemies at once and killing them with one set of bullets isn’t OP? I’m not familiar with fl4k or Moze augments, but I bet Fl4k has at least 1 OP augment like that. I think Zane deserves one too :slight_smile:

Nah, completely fair man. I don’t particularly want to argue against Zane buffs, I’m a Zane main too :smiley:

Just a bit of a sucker for the design, probably too much. I get too involved thinking about ideal balance, which I probably shouldn’t with Amara in the game!

Lol yeah, tbf that’s like my FAVORITE idea I ever came up with for a zane buff lol, it adds some insane fun to the skill, because who doesn’t want to be able to throw 2 or 3 nades from the SNTNL, and removes the redundancy of that second line.

I would like a new class mod that gives +1 to Death follows close, which gives 1 or 2% chance of activating one of the unlocked killing skills for both him and the clone by only hitting an enemy (like the fl4k mod of I don’t remember the name) as long as the clone is active.

Small thing but I’mma disagree on the whole Schadenfreude they got right thing. It’s bugged and doesn’t do anything, I have tested it extensively

It worked at some point. I definitely used it. The shield recharge came in the form of transfusion orbs

Exactly, you have to be close to benefit most. I thought it was working,…

because zane does not have firerate buffs either, you gotta have it somewhere no? VV is definitely not a bad skill unlike others that were mentioned. fire rate is actually very cool and provides good alterantive to playing dirty which is centered around slow shooting guns.

Nope. The trails spawn, but they don’t actually target you, and you can’t walk into them to get them either. They just sorta…orbit aimlessly

Clone swap rep here cus we’re an endangered species at this point

Clone Swap QoL
Let Zane aim in the direction he was originally aiming after swapping with his clone. Its just clunky having your aim thrown off cus you’re forced to aim at the ratch the clone was shooting at.

Fix how the clone fires all guns. Actually fire Jakobs guns as fast as he can pull the trigger. Fire auto weapons at full auto and burst fire weapons as burst fire. Why is my clone trying to burst fire a COV Assault rifle or firing a Maggie at the same speed as an Unforgiven?

Double Barrel
Make the Double Barrel Capstone a static 75% instead of a stackable 25% with a 75% max. The hidden stacks fall off too quickly and forces you to constantly swap with you clone for more damage even if its unfavourable at that time. Coupled with the issue of Zane aiming at the same target as his clone you just don’t have enough time to take advantage of the stacks. Also increase the duration of the buff , I enjou swapping with my clone but cmon it get tiring having to swap every 5 seconds.

Buffs from Synchronocity, Double Barrel and Anoints
Share buffs from Synchronicity and Double Barrel with your clone and allow him to copy your anoints. Its a clone why isn’t it also copying my buffs. Clone needs reasonable damage outside of Boom Enhance and Donnybrook cus they just aren’t enough. Additionally with endgame content focusing more closely on specialised builds abusing anoints he will just fall even further behind as better anoints are created and the game is scaled to accommodate them.

Digital Distribution
Add some damage reduction to the clone. Mayhem 3 and 4 enemies do so much overkill damage its easily able to kill a buffed clone with damage that puts you into health gate. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad if Quick Breather worked but alas

Like a Ghost
Make this active for the duration of the Action Skill. If you have gone that far into the Doubled Agent Tree you definitely have a couple points in skills that improve your Action Skill duration. Especially on builds that run CCC or Good Misfortune the bonus just isn’t applied as often as it should. And it goes against the whole premise that you’re meant to keep your action skills up.
Or if this isnt interactive enough change the increased bonus to proc every time he swaps with his clone.

Most of his other skills are good enough however it would be great if there were some other buffs assigned to the clone similar to how Gaige was able to buff DeathTrap back in Bl2 or Timothy in TPS.

You guys are insane. Zane is OP.
Zane needs some kind of nerf, as his newest buffs are overpowered on top of an already strong character. He can way too tanky and strong, even in mayhem 4. Look at this video below

As you can see, Zane is way too powerful, as he is able to complete the Maliwan Takedown SOLO. I can not believe this got past the developers. Do they even test this game?
Here is the best way to balance this character-
Heavily nerf CCC, and cause his bubble shield to be tied to his current shields health.
These were my thoughts on the current state of Zane, who is at this point the Salvador of BL3.

Honestly Zane is so powerful I was able to complete the maliwan takedown with NO skill points!

Recursion on WOTAN is like Bore on BNKR, except any class can do, just some with elemental buffs do it faster.
