Wat. Please make that a masses thing. Borderless Windowed is essential if I want to be able to functionally use both of my monitors, and have the game fullscreen at the same time.

It’s not that we won’t support it eventually. I added the debug command to test UI that basically accomplishes borderless fullscreen as a hacked side effect. Totally not a proper solution and was only included so modders could test their UI at different aspect ratios/configurations.

A real solution is in the works that isn’t part of my hackeryfor modders.

Hmm ok. Still it is nice you will support it later.

Excellent.

I’m growing more and more disappointed and angry. We are now 3+ weeks after release and are still getting the equivalent of hotfixes as “patches.”

  • Still not a single fix to ship AI, formations, or balistics = HW1:R and multiplayer still utterly unplayable for HW1 veterans who didn’t like or had to indulge HW2 mechanics

  • It should be clear from these boards at this point that this is a large community of people.

  • HW1 Gravwells still bugged = multiplayer still in a broken state

    • HW1 Gravwells still don’t affect Vaygr corvettes. (Psych! Apparently this is fixed in this patch!)

    • Angry sentence about the urgency of multiplayer fixes due to a dwindling multiplayer community grasping with competitive play in a game with balance-defining bugs.

    • HW1 Gravwells act like HW2 hyperspace inhibitors instead of trapping hyperspacing capital ships in hyperspace while active.

  • HW2 Classic engine trails still bugged = all available HW2 mods (and HW2 Classic) unplayable

  • This bug really does destroy the entire aesthetic. One could say that it makes the game look atrocious. (Originally used the phrase “visual atrocity.”)

  • This bug is not present in 2003 copies of Homeworld 2.

/Edited to be more productive and less ranting.

Atrocity? wow… that’s a word used to describe the death of 60 million people. The Holocaust was an atrocity, the Sierra Leone genocides was an atrocity.

A visual bug in a 10 year old computer game is a slight inconvenience.

lol wow.

Please understand that we announce patch/update contents as they are ready, not as they are being worked on. In other words, just because you don’t see something in this update doesn’t mean it isn’t on the team’s radar.

Perhaps you’d like to read this thread @Burly just posted. He talks about the up coming 3rd patch a bit.

That probably would’ve been helpful for me to add. Thanks @Kitty_Jo!

Thanks for the hard work and earlier than expected update guys!

Noticeable improvements, and a good show of effort.

Please tell whoever is in charge of finding us a Multiplayer Lobby that you are going to lock him in a small room, and raffle off the key to the HW1 WON veterans, if he doesn’t get it in gear.

I set up 8 person “chat room” games in the “lobby” just to see old friends pop in.

Except the 10 year old game doesn’t have the visual bug, even on modern systems. Like I said, I had to pop in my old HW2 CD to play the mod, when I expected I would be able to use HW2:Classic.

Now, introducing a new, blatant, visual bug into a game that seems to affect all users, then rerelease without taking the one look required to see the bug… atrocity is still hyperbole, but there is no programmer’s excuse to redeem this. And it certainly makes the game entirely unplayable for me, because I have become so familiar with and appreciate so much Homeworld’s aesthetic.

Could this be a profile (color) issue? I found that every ‘profile’ saves it’s own keybindings.

I only have one profile.

Uhm, I just played Mission 10 of HW:R 1 and after destroying the base and all enemy ships I could find, nothing happens  I thought that got fixed in the last patch as far as I remember ? Or do you have to start Mission 10 from the beginning to work properly ? Because I used my save I created before the first patch shipped to continue with the mission.

If I recall (not 100% sure) the issue would be in the save too… ?

Yes, you will probably want to start mission 10 from the beginning to get the fixes. Also, enjoy the new dust clouds!

Roger, will do :), thanks for the very quick reply !

Nice, stealth patch that makes hw1 grav well work against vaygr corvettes!

might what to consider adding things like that to the patch notes. it may be a small thing to code but it’s a MASSIVE thing for multiplayer.

Thanks for the update  keep up the good work.

Looks like there are undocumented fixes. Vaygr corvettes are now properly stopped by a grav well.
