I have no idea what people are talking about because I do not see cooldown filling at all while Iron Cub is active. This whole convo about Grizzled breaking that has me confused. Only seen Moxsy say it and not show anything which is why people are now keep saying it but I dunno wtf they are talking about.

If you have a point in grizzled, when you get a kill while cub is active; you may notice a little progress in the cooldown bar(though its a very small amount); this is probably why they thought big surplus was active

So it’s not actually breaking cooldown gain like people are saying, it’s just showing cooldown when there isn’t actually any. Because cooldown is not gained at all normally while IC is active without Grizzled.

Ill try to test the validity of it lengthening cooldown when i get the chance; if it has detrimental results i’ll forward them to @twopizza for the iron bear cooldown thread

Moxsy is who I heard it from. I’ve just been trying to gather more info about what’s actually happening.

Suppose I should just respec and test for myself.

Never repeat what Moxsy says without testing it yourself lol.

Anyways just tested it, no skill points spent then just 5 in grizzled. With 5 in grizzled kills while IC active did show a cooldown gain visually but did not affect the actual cooldown once it ended negative or otherwise. Kills after IC ended with grizzled did lower cooldown as normal.

Did not test any interactions with purple skills yet.

Basically it seems to just be the same visual bug Fade Away/Gamma Burst has always had with headcount.

Thank you @kabflash

I knew better, but it seemed legit with what others here were saying.

Sorry guys. I’m gonna take another break from Borderlands 3 (my 2nd one). I’m gonna monitor the forums and borderlands website for any major patches and hotfixes. For sure I’ll be playing DLC6. I paid for it!

It’s just that I’m disappointed with the current hotfix. I wish there’s more bug fixes. Also as others have mentioned, everything is OP with Moze since August. I enjoyed it but as of now, I feel I got most of the fun that I can get from with it.

For now i’ll be playing chess and hunting that Xbox Series X (I still can’t get one!). I hope to be back in a month or two.

Thanks.

Ah. That’s what I get for believing people who swear things black and blue. I should have known better.

It’s working normally for me on PC and I haven’t heard anything about Grizzled having negative results.

I’m having the most succes running iron cub without boosting his fuel or cool down, let the little guy go ham as long as he can with rocket pods, if he blows himself up I get the big surplus bonus and all ase annoints proct lol

I’m going to experiment later on with an Iron Cub/artillery build now that IC gets Mayhem-scaling. Because SRPMs and SSB both reportedly don’t apply bonus IB damage to Cub, an artillery build with Cub running dual Hammerdown Protocol negates the absence of bonus crit damage as well.

This is the provisional build I have in mind, while wearing the Flame class mod and only swapping to Flare when in bossing situations or the trickiest mobbing areas. With the exception of Power Creep which is buried too far deep in Bear Mother to justify spending that many points, theoretically this artillery build should double as a pet build seeing as it picks up almost every optimal DPS and sustain skill that can apply to Cub. Fuel for the Fire is the default augment for Cub, however if the damage is now seriously good after receiving Mayhem-scaling, one could make use of the Backburner to repeatedly trigger Baby Nukes!

I had a similar concept. This is the build I came up with.

Biofuel doesn’t look like it really helps. Health regen is generally meh in mayhem. Armored Infantry and Drowning in Brass are both V1 damage and don’t contribute a lot damage wise.

Using the new Flame mod with the capstone on it, swapping to Mindsweeper for bossing. I don’t have a good Flare mod. Main weapons include an x2 Shreddifier, fire Tizzy, Plasma Coil, Fire Flakker, Miscreant, Ogre, and a Soulrender. Most with consecutive hits and a pearl with mag size. (Shreddifier go brrrr after the last buff, I can get that thing over 200 in the mag and just hold down the trigger).

And I agree …

There’s nothing else in that purple tree I want except for those couple down on the lower tier. Mainly Efficiency Engine.

Iron Cub shreds with the Hammerdown Protocol, and he is instantly available again with the Flame mod no matter what weapon I’m using with Moze’s inherent fire damage. No reason to dump too much into giving him more fuel where more damage is available.

I was just informed by @aaron0000 that SRPMs and SSB do now work with Iron Cub after yesterday’s hotfix. Going to do some testing tonight.

Updated build with this in mind.

Just had my first experience with the cub and it was fun. Did the slaughter shaft and we made Mr.Torgue happy with EXPLOSIONS! Ran full blue and purple with a bit of green to get Rushin Offensive and I wasn’t missing the Red tree. I rocked a consecutive hits Prompt Critical with a Mindsweeper, Rad Hex for dotting the world and a Victory Rush with AOE The Cub was rocking nukes for more dots. Felt good to able to quickly deploy the Cub and work as a team versus the clunky in and out with the Bear. Even made it through 3 rounds on one activation with the Cub at full health and almost full fuel, but a hex got me when round 4 ended. Looking forward to exploring the cub more. The Cub may be as dumb as a turnip but he is cute.

I almost want to buy the DLC for the 4th skill tree but I don’t care about Arms Race. Is there a way to pay just for the skill trees ?

Arms race is pretty fun though. And the guns are good. Worth having with the skill trees.

I’ll save the money for cyberpunk instead holla

Good for you xx

seems cub still isnt getting dmg from AS Damage rolls on COMs or Bear Damage from skills not in the purple tree, only skills that buff it are the ones in the purple tree
