Another person on these forums (@Master_Beef) suggested that Battleborn should get a “Horde” style online co-op mode.
I totally agree that adding a “Horde” mode would be something that I would love to see.

For those that don’t know, “Horde” mode is a separate online co-op mode where a group of 5 players fight against multiple waves of enemies. This mode was introduced in Gears of War 2. It was further expanded upon in Gears of War 3 with “Horde 2.0” which made Horde mode much more strategic by allowing players to construct defenses (e.g: barriers, turrets, decoys, etc.).

What do you think of this idea?

I’d just like to add that I feel that selectable time limits would be awesome.
Sometimes you only have ten minutes and would still like to have a short go.
I’ve actually had some of my best luck in Borderlands in these quick sessions, so it can be worth playing for a tiny bit, on occasion.

Yes, selectable time limits would be great for a “Horde” mode in Battleborn.

Thanks very much, Master_Beef!

The dev heard in streams have said there were 20-30 game modes in discussion during creation. The campaign missions are modeled after 3 game types, horde, escort and raid. Chapter 3 “The Renegade” is horde based. The one with ISIC is a raid and the Wolf one is obviously escort.
There was some talk in chats with devs during streams about 5v5 horde.

Great idea. I think GBX would do a really good job of this.

Left for Dead 2 and War Hammer: Vermintide have this mode so I think it would fit in quite nicely with BB.

Yeah, there have been several threads asking about this. More options is always a plus.

A pve horde mode would be great.

A 5v5 mode would be great too. I had a wacky idea yesterday about a mode based on super puzzle fighter where completing objectives spawned enemies the other team had to fight.

I think it could be fun. Although there seems like a lot of things to add.

Shouldn’t be that hard, in programming terms; just recycle a map and throw a heap of AI enemies in.

AI versions of the PCs would be more difficult though, I’d expect.

I was just thinking in terms of difficulty, and adding the selection to Matchmaking (although I guess it could be for private matches). Otherwise queue times may increase.

I was thinking the waves would come and both teams would get points for killing the horde. Maybe picking up some token to confirm the kill. The enemy AI could be set to focus enemies with the most kills.

I really want this mode.

True, there’s already code in place for hordes to attack the players anyway.

I don’t think we would need AI bots, if that’s what you’re talking about. Just have it where up to five people make a last stand against increasingly difficult hordes and call it a day.

Yes yes yes and . . . yes. This would be a great thing to have in the game.

Hey @JoeKGBX! Make this happen!

Sign me up for this too! Me and my penguin will gladly hunker down against all odds to survive.

Would love a Horde Mode.

Killing Floor is currently one of my most played games on steam - so it’s probably pretty obvious where I stand with this suggestion, and that’s a big fat yes please!
