Those can be annoying. See Borderlands 1 and claptrap. “there are new missions at the bounty board, you should check em out!”
That said, I think there’s a way to do it that isn’t that obtrusive. Not sure what that would be. Perhaps they need a news reel screen in sanctuary that announces new things? And is interactive?

The map marker for me, indicating I needed to go to the bridge was broken. I had to look online to find out where I had to go.

IME when playing any game the first port of call for the latest news on whats happening in it’s world is the official site but maybe that’s just me being dumb then.
From what I gather from other areas of the forum you aren’t into team play so in the first instance of the developer, this new activity won’t be of interest to you so why is it so important to be more high profile than the normal quest alert the game uses? Bloody Harvest is a seasonal event and is as you put it “Aggresively advertised” as it is a temporary activity whereas the takedown is a permanent addition to the game and so follows the in use mission convention.
I get your point on the intrusive nature of Bloody Harvest, I was even getting wound up when using my mules and not doing the story and I actually like Maurice.

By NOT being aboard the Sanctuary III but elsewhere? At that point I had all missions (except those “Kill XYZ” for which you need online friends so that they show up on the map as new quest) so farming anything and everything was my preoccupation. While farming in diff locations, there’s very little if any need to go back to Sanctuary III. Not so hard to miss the exclamation mark if it’s not on the map you’re currently farming. Makes sense?

Perhaps you literally go to Sanctuary all the time, I don’t. I own and have played & finished each and every BL and DLCs… hardly an inexperienced player
I’m working thru TVHM and just hit level 43 but when I scroll to the dlc blurb when I have the game on pause it says that I’m not qualified for the dlc, so I can only take that you need to be max level for it- or am I simply missing something?

I was thinking the same thing. Its seems even reviews have lost their marbles too. They never mention the “How do I even get to this new add on area” Its just assumed you are born with this cryptic knowledge. i agree why leave it to chance, if I never read about it on this forum I would heave no idea it was new or even in game. It is Daft

Not sure if you realize but you are saying you agree with @Prowler690 but then when you elaborate you are saying the opposite thing. They are saying it was easy to know how to find it.
If you have played all Bl games, then you should not be new to the whole exclamation point on the map thing. Also you should probably go there if you want to store guns you find or retrieve ones you want to use.

You are arguing for the sake of arguing… and assuming too much… and not really reading posts. I can not see the darn thing if I’m not “there”. I have 40 slots in my backpack + the gear in use. I have all the guns & gear I need already in my backpack so I do not have to go “there”. Recently I did 100 farming runs on Mouthpiece with absolutely no need to go anywhere else. If I do find a better piece, the inferior one either gets sold or dropped. Again, no need to go “there”.
Anyways, no point in discussing this any longer, we all have better things to do.
Actually you literally can. You just have to bring up the sanctuary map to look at it and notice a new ! without having to go to Sanctuary. However I do get what you are saying. Why look at Sanctuary’s map regularly when you did all the known Sanctuary missions.
I agree. However the problem with that current had mplimentation is that Maueice’s constant Echo reminder to start the quest (even after you did it once) gets annoying. Perhaps they could use that method to have Lorelei notify us but put in a cap so she quits notifying us after the first time we accept it.
Or another option would be to create a second popup after game completion (the first of course explains Mayhem mode) to explain takedowns and where their panel is. However those of us who already beat the game before that implementation wouldn’t see it unless we beat the game again. So those who weren’t playing at this time to know about Takedowns, will still only know about them by accidently stumbling onto the Takedown computer. (Unless they implement it to be a one-timepopup for all those that beat the game before Takedowns, but that could be a coding nightmare so not likely)
Honestly you aren’t missing anything as you probably already killed that stuff. They are just bounties to kill a rare spawn enemy that a friend just killed such as El Dragon or Borman Nates. These “bounties” just guarantee the spawn, nothing more, and therefore are more directed at the casual players who may never know otherwise that such enemies even exist.

No… I can’t. Give me just one good reason why would I, apart from scratching my arse, bring up the Sanctuary map while I’m doing something elsewhere. Again, like so many on these forums you are assuming I should be doing something when there is absolutely no good reason for me to do whatever that “it” might be.
Again, Bloody Harvest and Maurice “reminding” me about the event was annoying to the point that I was getting really, really irritated. Maliwan Takedown took quite the opposite approach where players should check up the forums, follow GBX on Twitter or social (whatever that might be) or whatnot… bollocks even if I say so! How about a simple to implement and anywhere close to intrusive note in corner of the screen letting me know about the new content while I’m busy doing something I find more important? Or more fun to do… like scratching my arse???
Hate to repeat myself but there are so many things, ranging from simple gtlitches to pure stupidity, wrong about this game. Not going to rant about story line having more holes than a piece of a swiss cheese being shot with a sawn-off shotgun from a point-blank range, about pretty much every male character from the previous installments being pushed back (or made look stupid, shallow and utterly incompetent) in favor of less-than-marginal yet somehow “important” one-dimensional female characters… nah. That would be for another post.

Because you heard there was new content and the first paragraph of the patch notes told you to check Sanctuary? Just a thought.
You are an outlier if you never go to Sanctuary, sorry.
Don’t you use the bank with all that farming you are doing?

Any time you pause or are on the main menu, there is a picture in the corner that says maliwan takedown out now. Notifying you of content in game. You are literally complaining for the sake of complaining. You started a forum to talk about not being able to find the takedown, yet if you are able to access these forums, then I’m sure you are also able to read the many forums telling you where to go.

Saying I’m an outlier for not going to Sanctuary on a regular basis? That’s cold if not outright rude and plain stupid. What’s Sanctuary III? A shrine of a sort so one has to do a pilgrimage every so often?
I’ve finished BL2 visiting the Sanctuary only if I had to. Anything else would be plain stupid and waste of time.
No, I didn’t. On a personal note, I find it as a really bad engineering practice to introduce new content while the existing one has gazillions of problems. Would be pretty much as GM saying “yes, we know about the braking issues but hey… we are about to introduce brand-spanking-sexy-new-all-alloy 24” rims"
And, please, don’t even try to tell me it’s not related.
No, I don’t. Unlike many others I do not believe in “gazillions” of “different” guns. I couldn’t care less if accuracy ,or RoF, or whatnot of a “new” gun is within 5 or even 10% of the one I already have. Most guns I get in farming runs, and when I say most that’s like 90% of them, I just don’t pick up.
As one of the contributors on Borderlands Wilki, I “might” get interested in a gun if it has a new prefix or a feature but that’s about all to it. I’ll just make a screenshot of it and leave it on the ground or sell it if the price was right. Nothing more to it, really.

It’s not a bad thing to be called an outlier. You don’t need to take it as an insult. The point of the statement is that things are not going to be designed around arbitrary rules you set for yourself.
It’s the bank. It’s the respec station. It’s the hub for many quests. It’s how to change mayhem modes. It’s where the Heck portal is. It’s where you have to go for dropship to get to places like slaughters and trials. I mean it’s pretty much a lot of reasons to go there.
Knowing it’s the hub for special quests, and the location of the dropship. First thing I think of when a new area/mission is released.
Again I ask, you say you spend all these hours farming. Don’t you use the bank?
And yes I’m pretty positive it’s a very uncommon thing to be someone who never goes to Sanctuary.

I have like… 200+ slots in the bank, really not sure from top of my head. Is there even 100 guns in the whole game worth saving?
Anyways, lets put this to rest, OK? As an old-school engineer I have a very much different view as to how a software should be tested before being released to the general public.
