Yeah, I feel like I’ve only touched less than half of the game, meanwhile OW felt boring after a lil while.
He’s a buffer with a Junkrat type weapon and mines. As the UPR don’t have a healer, he’s their support (although he’s not labelled as such to further distance him as he’s very different.
They’re very similar. You might also like Reyna, as her skills are extremely similar, a single target health buff (overshields with heals later), a debuff like Discorb (that’s just what I call it), and an ult that basically holds down an area or pushes with the team (a giant bubble that can follow you at level 10). She’s not as damaging that quickly though, but she can still pull off kills pretty well.
Especially if you pick Homing shots (left tier 2) and later the increases to Pistol on plasma overheat (Middle Tier 3), and plasma damage increases
Benedict cant fly from me
And it sounds like the same voice actor who did Ra’s Ramerica skin in Smite.
I feel like I would get bored by Overwatch quickly. Mostly because I don’t play PvP-only games very long. Anyhow, I will try Overwatch at some point. I’m in no rush though and I know Overwatch will be cheaper later. I’d be thrilled if Overwatch added a story campaign later. Some kind of PvE element would pull me in.
Same here … i had to choose between OW & BB, while all Blizzard games are excellent in their gameplay i also loved the whole Borderlands series and GBX humor, and because BB has its pve-campaign my decision was to play BB first. And i’m more than satiesfied with all that BB has to offer.
I like games that motivate me to play them for a longer time period and BB has all this RPG elements i like and OW has not. If Blizzard would spent OW some kind of pve missions i would buy OW instantly.
But nonetheless i’m sure OW is a great shooter and i will play it some day when the price on consoles is lower, but i know it can’t hook me like BB did.
Best regards.
Same. Overwatch isn’t bad per se, there’s just nothing to keep me playing. No campaign and the modes were just standard team death match kinda stuff.
When the beta was out I couldn’t play more than a couple matches before I was bored and went back to Battleborn. I just can’t get into run and guns like that, doom, quake, halo, etc.
Honestly its just team fortress 3, nothing more. Blizzard even had valve help make it, that’s why it even has signature tf2 escort the bomb mode.
Doesn’t help that aside from a couple like tracer and zarya, the characters are so utterly bland and generic its pathetic.
For example compare the rocketeers. Pharah is just a standard jetpack rocket soldier. Whereas Battleborn has Benedict. A flying rocket hawk who regurgitates his ammo and taunts you while remote controlling nukes.
Or the snipers. Widowmaker is just a stereotypical “cold sniper”. Whereas Battleborn has Marquis a psycho robot Butler who hates hobos and deploys laser owls.
Then ow has Mcree, just a standard Clint Eastwood clone with dual revolvers, and reaper, a beelzemon ish dual shotguns guy who is a cliche “ooh I’m mysterious and evil in black” villain. It also has two generic mad max raiders, one of whom is the token blizzard fat guy with a hook. Battleborn has ghalt, a comically heroic black guy with dual revolver shotguns who shoots out grappling hooks.
You could compare caldarius and tracer, as the blitzing uzi gunners with grenades which is the only time id give the point to overwatch instead just because Tracer is so lovably adorkable.
Seriously, just like all the promotional material would have you believe, Tracer is literally the only interesting thing about overwatch. Zarya is hot too but that’s more of a personal fetish.
I can see how players who are familiar with such games (PvP for example), their characters and mechanics, might find OW a bit repetitive and bland.
I personally love it, because I am unfamiliar with its realm of games. Apart from BB, I never played PVP games before. Always just solo storymode games for me.
So, I’m enjoying changing my gaming up. Because, Play all the games!
Tracer… Love the way she is as a character. But a pain in my butt within the game, ugh can’t pin her down! Haha.
I mainly play Soldier76, even though to many he’s a clone from any of the above games you mentioned (which I haven’t played)… But a noob like me needs a ‘just point and shoot’ character. Otherwise D.Va has my heart.
I find OW’s community to be pretty friendly too. I’ve made quite a few random friends playing it now. Randoms who will speak up on mic about ‘teaming up’ if they like how I play. Now I have a bunch of regulars that invite me on a daily basis to turn OW on. (Yes, it has its bad apples too. But I’ve learnt that to be common amongst these ‘use a mic’ games now.)
I want more of this in BB. We also have a great community I believe. We need to complement each other more. Send messages. Don’t be afraid to speak friendly on mic even if no one else is using their mic. And invite invite invite!
Messaging/Inviting a ‘friend’ the moment you see them sign on, especially on PSN, before they have selected the game they might play for the day, and saying ‘hey, wanna play some BB?’, encourages them to play, encourages a friendly community, and gives BB some player numbers… Distract them from whatever else it was they were thinking of playing, haha.
But the OP wants positive reasons to keep BB on his gaming system, and even reasons to start playing it again. So let’s try to keep off the negative OW speak, even though we all have our own opinions on it… Clearly the OP enjoys OW, so speaking poorly of it, doesn’t encourage friendly warm fuzzy feelings, haha.
Lets talk more about the game we all love, why we love it, and why we will continue to love it… Battleborn!.. So the OP can see why it’s worth putting OW down, for even a short while, or long term… And let the friendly warm fuzzy feelings flow
