One of my closest friends is a Geordie.
I’m a bit of a loyalist. If you haven’t noticed my severe love of Haiti and Jamaica as well.
But yes, I was born in Italy. (Although I am a New Yorker through and through.)

Aha, that explains it! I don’t go up to Tyne and Wear very often. Leeds is quite far north enough for someone who grew up with their feet in the south coast.

Some comments on my youtube just reminded me of Domu, I love this book

Geordies, in my experience, are wonderful people. Just so long as they’re not the sort of Geordies who happily lump everyone south of Watford into one homogeneous group and despise them. Yes, those snooty toffs with all the money and the posh accents should absolutely be ridiculed at every turn. But there’s a LOT of south England (including the bits of London I grew up in) that are about as well off as Geordies. Some Geordies get that; some don’t.
IIRC, Schrödinger does give kitties a happy ending…maybe.
Also, that cat doe not look happy, tho I’m unsure if it’s because of the situation, or the rubbernecking.
Yep! Replace Geordies with ‘Northerners’ generally. The North South divide thing, while not necessarily a myth, is used way too simplistically up here. When people from the North talk about the South they make out like everyone lives in posh Essex luxury… there are some real areas of deprivation in the north but a great deal in the south too, especially the south west and south Wales (compared to which Leeds is absurdly prosperous).
It is absolutely delightful how little sense any of that makes to someone without any basis to contextualize it

I just love the YES | NO branded on that bull’s buttocks
With DBZ being the theme of the day, can anyone tell me when Dragonball Abridged gets good?
I gave it a try based on many recconebdations from various sources but wasn’t really feeling it for the first few episodes
Feels a bit like thread necromancy to answer to something from 60+ posts ago, but I guess that’s just due to the variance in posting speed here in the OT section.
Anyway, DB Abridged gets a lot better about halfway through the Namek arc. Which should (iirc) be about Episode 18.
Halloween Super Mario style.

It’s fair to say in this thread… there are no rules (except the rule of Alf, which we must overthrow)
I just know that you’re gonna make us Vault Hunters play a game one day where our character choices are Humans, Catpeople, Alves, Dwarves, and a few others – but no robuts. :sadZoidberg:
Yessss!!
And Derch will be the final boss.
(I think what I love most about that is the word ‘Alves’)
Oh, I’m sorry. Should I correct it?
"WWTRD: What Would The Robut Do?" -- Zoidberg, "Futurama"
And nah, @Derch wouldn’t be the final boss – final boss would be a Tachikoma that sounds like J. Jonah Jameson.
No no no, I love it!
