I went from 312 pieces of gear (279 visible) to 67 and there was absolutely no change in load time. Still had to wait ~13-15 secs because I have 13 loadouts filled. Whenever I empty all of those loadouts, it’s basically instant. The amount of gear you currently have has no impact on your character select wait time.
The only reason they haven’t given us more is because they’re optimizing stuff to fix the whole “loadouts make you wait to select a character” thing (should be coming with Ernest). When that is taken care of, they’re going to give us more bank space and loadouts.
I have maxed out bank space. But only have about 100 gear. All loadouts unlocked. Is this really the reason why it takes so long to select a character when playing public matches?
Bank space doesn’t mean anything, and the only way that loadouts matter is whether they have items in them or not (since the game doesn’t load empty loadout slots).
But, keep in mind, they’re releasing stuff that should be fixing this within the next couple of weeks (my guess is that it’s gonna come along with Ernest).

The only reason I see to max out bank space is if you play a lot of PvE. After 5~ matches your entire bank is full of trash, and having more slots makes it easier to get rid of all of it.
I play a ton of pve usually solo. I have 103 gear in the bank out of the 279 bank space. I now have 30 loot packs to open. And I wont have enough space to so. I have like 3 or so loot packs of each faction. Then 4 uncommon, 4 rare, 4 epic, and 3 legendary loot packs. Going to make a video of opening them all tonight once I buy a few more. Have about 7000 credits to spend.
