Let’s see, besides goofing off on these boards and generally being a hopeless romantic on my twitter. I managed to…

  • Write 5 Chapters of a sub-story for my comic, AEGIS. A smutty one but ooh, it’s a side-character’s story.
  • Record two sample tracks for my upcoming album.
  • Managed to shower

I think I lost my working groove last night, got really kind of stumped by it. Couldn’t put my finger on it but tonight… oh tonight. The right music combined with the heater, good eats and the right amount of fluids (I ran out of soda but I started brewing tea and made some coffee). I got done with a lot more at once than I have in the past month or so which is a really good feeling.

For the upcoming storm:

  • I rotated my firewood and had the idea to put the rack just outside of my windows (that don’t face anything interesting), so I can grab the firewood from inside the house.
  • I got three slash piles sorted and covered: bonfire(s) on Friday night in the snow (8"-12" predicted) :metal:
  • I got my tire chains on deck (I’ll probably lace up all four wheels on Thursday night).

I made a TRULY amazing pair of jokes, the likes of which shall never be seen in these parts again.
I also got some legal documents laid out.

Finally finished a Chocobo doll which was ordered arround christmas. It cost more nerves than I ever anticipated, but it turned out glorious nonetheless

2-legged puppets are so nasty to balance, it´s a wonder he stands without help^^

Well, finally got around to tidying and cleaning my house… done my kitchen anyway (much needed!), also took most of the recycling out (so many boxes!!) I just have to remember to put it all out on the street tonight. Now to work on my front room… a lot to do. I suppose I should tidy more regularly :stuck_out_tongue:

Drove mom to work in the morning, toddled back home to take care of our chickens/cat/dogs before leaving to work on the house I’m helping restore(water damage) and then picking mom up from work before taking care of the neighbors’ dogs/horses/cat/chickens/pig/ducksDUCKSOMGCUTEDUCKS followed by a meeting for mom while I got gasoline and dropped off the library books all finished off with closing up the chickens in their coop and walking the dog.

I also threw together a kickass run-on sentence today.

Anyway, I would post in here more often but it’d be something like ^that^ most days with a post script of “i cleaned my room” tacked on once in a blue moon.

Post away! I like hearing about other people’s days, which are generally guaranteed to be more exciting than mine. (My life is sadly free of cute ducks).

I did manage a lot of tidying yesterday, kitchen is now spick and span, and I picked up most of the clothes on my bedroom floor  I also sorted my teaching prep and PhD drafts into the right folders. Today I need to get all my books on the right shelves and vacuum, among other tasks…

I suppose I could post here too. 10pm wednesday all the way to friday at 6am I was forced to be at my job working. I am a security guard and if my relief don’t show up I am not allowed to go home. In between signing in and out truckers I took small naps but for the most part I was “fuctioning” for a 32 hour period at work" Methods for keeping myself awake where mostly just go outside in the bitter cold and do something that gets the blood pumping. I usually don’t post here because a lot of people view security work as not a real job and look down upon it but hey I get bragging rights with this one lol XD

You should post here, lol! You definitely have a real job (about 300% more real than being a grad student), and one that requires impressive endurance too  Hope you’ve got some sleep since? It takes me a long time to recover from working long hours like that (though when I do it it’s usually because of my own disorganisation).

My day… spent it writing a 2000 word summary of my thesis for a grant application. I’m looking for funds so I can stay in this house next year, kind of anxiety-inducing. My friend (who was being really helpful with advice today) did make me wince by saying ‘the most important thing is not to rebook your house until you have a set source of income’. Well, too late for that, I really want to stay in this flat and it would most likely be taken if I left it till the summer. Having my own space really helps my work and my mental health so I will find the money.

I’m applying for bursaries, and also looking at jobs; there’s not much out there that would fit with my studies but I’ve found a few things. If necessary I’m happy to get a loan, but that’s assuming a bank will lend me one; something I probably need a job for. Sigh. There is a student loan company which would likely give me one, though with a bad interest rate, so that’s a last resort (but I’d still probably go for it). This is all really stressful. But I’m deteremined to make it work somehow.

I cut down a tree.
