So ive got Orendi at level 9 now.

Stil feel like I don’t really fully “get” how to play her.

Having trouble accurately aiming Her Pillars and Ult because of having to time where they will land rather than Insta Fire. More precisely, having to place them where I think the ENEMY will be.

Still trying to wrap my mind around Nullify (her L1). What should I be doing with it?

I LOVE her speed and ability to get in and out of hot zones.

Seems OK at clearing waves.

I’ve stopped trying to solo Thralls.

Getting in quick and finishing off or hunting down to kill weakened players, as well as circling quickly ariund eneny groups to flank / Attack from behind Are all tactics ive been having good success with.

Any tips / advice / combos?

Thanks in advance!

Simple rotation. Kill turrets first. Then, only minions. Then walk up to and burst down any extending enemies. With careful blinding, you can do damage. Then, get shards, and if you can Thralls. Only get Thralls if to help a low damager, like a support. Grab the super minion, repeat. I like to grab skill damage, attack speed, and shield. Mostly on skill damage and shield. This way you can use her level 3 right helix to be a skirmisher need be. I use Encore to drop the real pillar slightly behind and the weaker in front, so they walk back into both. Only be in combat while you have your pillar and nullify, then leave and grab shards once it’s all on cooldown. Soon, you’ll have pillarstorm, where you can kill even Montanas. Sometimes just use Nullify to cooldown if there’s a lot of range. Otherwise just run up and blind, it gets many to walk back into a pillar. I like Encore because you can miss one and still have grace. Buuuuut, with pillars torment PoP is better on level 4. I always go prognostication, although combo is good. Renaissance can seriously hurt the enemy if they clump and even more if you have firmware update. So essentially

  1. Minions
  2. Buildables, enemies ONLY if they don’t have time to retreat or if you have backup.
  3. Her speed makes shards great. Non stop. Between all your different sources, I’ve been at 10 when others are just getting to 5.

The blind on nullify is an excellent gtfo card for melee in pvp, drop a pillar (preferably with preamble of pain helix), nullify out, then another pillar in the direction they are running out of lane. Follow up with paradigm, gg.

Also I run the Lorrian skill spike, a 0 cost shard gen with negative reload, and either a blue movement speed with more movement when all skills are on cd (so I can gtfo) or a 0 cost buildable, depending on the map.

Apart from all that just pillar minions to death, level, try to put pillars behind people then rush them, people tend to back up as a reaction to someone charging, if only a few feet. And when you get pillarstorm it only gets better.

Yeah, Orendi is sick with wave clear. Pillars everywhere. The mooks aren’t quick/smart enough to dodge them.

I’m not good with placing her pillars (or Alani’s Geyser) when it comes to hunting enemy BB either, but I can and have used it successfully as a pressure device. Track where your allies are, and aim to hit the enemy Battleborn, but err on the side of forcing them into the ally. If Rath is on your right wing, aim the pillar to the back left of the target. You may still miss, but if you miss it’ll hopefully chase them closer to the ally.

Yesssss, I love using her to zone. I’ve saved allies from dreadwinds.

Cool downs cool downs cool downs. shes all about spamming her abilities as much as you can. don’t stay still, learn how to pull off all her moves while jumping around like a flea. if you have trouble placing pillars to get people with them, go for the helix that does damage overtime to targets near it. (lvl 4). Also keep in mind her special is super predictable, since youre always jumping around spamming things and her special takes a while to activate, try to mask it with some moves or when they are distracted with something else, lastly it can go through some of the structures on the map. Good luck

A couple of things.

First, you can modify how your skills work from Options->Gameplay.
There is something called ‘Skill Activation Styles’.
The options are:
Standard
Quick
Instant

Please note that whatever you choose…it will be for all characters.

Standard is the default, but I go with ‘Quick’.
This means that when you activate Shadow Fire Pillar, you keep the button pressed down, and then upon release you activate the skill. (I find this better than Standard which forces you to click twice)

Next, I mostly play Meltdown, and I play a minion-clearing, buildable-destroying, shard-gathering, buildable-building build. (Which also works pretty well in Incursion)

So I clear minions (usually want to up my skill damage), gather shards, and build stuff.

I typically look to have the most damage done, most minions killed, most buildables built. Sometimes I end up with a lot of kills, sometimes with only a few, it really depends.

Here are the skills I go with:

I used to go with the push-back on Nullify, but Blind seems to be the better option now.
I like to recharge my shields on Nullify, so if I have to, I can run into a situation, then Nullify out while getting some protection.

I prefer Preamble of Pain at 4, because the minions will normally stay in it and then I only have to worry about landing 1 shadow fire pillar.

If you want more ‘easy’ BB Kills you can go with Renaissance at 5, but otherwise either of the other choices are good…though I tend to go with Prognstication more times than not…as I like that after Nullify I usually can instantly cast Shadow Fire Pillar ago.

At 6 and 7 I choose to increase Shadow Fire Pillar damage and skill damage.
At 8 and 9 I reduce Nullify Cooldown and Shadow Fire Pillar cooldown…and then in PvP always go for the mutation.

For gear:

I just got an almost perfect Codex Fragment from an Archive run…so I might go with that in her build. (Skill Dmg + Max Health). I will probably pair that with a 0 shard generator (- reload) and a 0 shard wrench. (-reload).

Skill Dmg, Cool-down, movement speed, & Shield/Health seem to work best for her…and if you go buildable (which I think works best) you probably want to at least go with a shard generator…and if you fully commit or have a legendary, go with a 0 shard wrench. I saw someone mention Firmware Update as a legendary (Cooldown + Sprint) and that is a really good one as well.

As far as playstyle goes, here is what I have learned:

She is really squishy so you have to hit and run. Always stay on the edges and don’t get down and dirty in the fray, because you can get focused down fast…especially at higher levels.
I normally will start with a pillar, then nullify to get my pillar cooled down, pop another pillar, finish with Paradigm if I have it/need it, then jet out…get more shards, build more buildables, and then jump into the fray once again.

Also, if there is an Ambra on the other team…I have found that I just have to stay as far away as possible. With Ambra’s upgraded range on her fire beam, along with Ambra’s movement speed…it is hard to get away if she gets a lock on you. You rely on mobility to stay alive and the auto-aim of that beam completely negates that.

i would tell you, but i would have to kill you immediately after. actually, what format do you play on? i will private message you with exactly what you do and exactly what you wear, because so far nobody has even come close. there is effective, and there is literally taking over games to the degree that no other character in the game can. the difference is in your helix choices, gear, and choices.

i have literally never, no matter what, seen an orendi player with a higher kd/win percentage than mine. and that includes the orendi whose team won the reddit tourney. even got him beat

Better than johncena on Steam? Cause that guy is a beast Orendi.

I’d say I’m decent, but I’m not a great pvp player, so my kds aren’t top of the line amazing. But, I personally average 12 kills, 3 deaths, and 50% or more of the minion kills.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on Orendi though if you are as grand as you say. :stuck_out_tongue:

I play on PS4.

My PSN is FilthyLittleGod

Please feel free to private message me or add me on PSN

@FlamesForAll @diekthx i play on xb1 so no problem sharing my thoughts with you guys in a pvt message. i only ask that you dont really post about it on a thread once you see what it does. ive watched the guys on steam. i literally have like an 8.0 kd on orendi with triple sum just on her, and that is with two accounts sharing time. the other account is literally 1 kill from just orendi having 3 sum as well. over 90 pct win pct as well.

I’m not sure if the secret is all that secret anymore hah, seen a lot doing the same

@ihaveseasonpass

Sounds good!

You’ll be messaging me on here, then?

ive still yet to see another orendi do it outside of our group. and just wearing the gear is only half the battle. look at your boy grindout lol. didnt work too well for him haha.

Ha!

You win this thread!

:joy::joy::joy:

Early Alani is easy enough kills for him, I dare say. Always have to repay my tragic super fast deaths to Pendles early game in kind end game as Alani.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Her nulify is more an escape skill and combo tool than anything else (does work well against pendles). When you use this spell it is mainly to CD shadow fire pillar again. As he passive takes the CD time away by 8 seconds.

Which is why Prognosticombo is incredibly good to pick. Because you can almost instantly fire two shadowfire pillars and CD nulify at the same time. Or take the other one and with 10% CDR you can instantly double pillar.

If you’re not good at hitting pillars use preamble of pain at lvl 4, if you are use Encore (until lvl 12 I’ll explain). I enjoy using Encore because its simple for me to double pillar people as they are walking backwards.

Things to note:

If you use Orendie’s Legendary item you can not use preamble of pain. The burn damage actually procs the 25% buff so the first 2 of the 3 ticks will be 25% stronger and the damage of the pillar actually won’t be. However, you can use Encore/ Pillar storm to activate it.

Having Encore nerfs the secondary pillar damage of all other pillars in pillar storm by 50%. Bad coding. So what I’m saying here is you’ll almost never get good effect from Orendie’s legendary so just don’t use it.

You want to aim shadowfire pillar slightly behind them so they move back into and then you can get big damage on them.

You can literally fire the second pillar in Encore instantly so you can double pillar the same area and have them explode within like .1 seconds of each other.

Stats you want:

CDR
Skill damage

Take those two and GG roll a skills damage item for like 15% then get two items that give flat cdr so you can reach 10% and that’s all you need. You don’t need anything special. I literally used a white cdr, purple shield recharge with 4.5% cdr, and a blue double skill damage on shield hit.

Orendi is a beast. I have her mastered and she is a non-stop firing machine. you basically stay about 20 feet from the enemy and hold down the right trigger. her pillar should be the base of all damage so make sure you helix those buffs for sure. nullify is a great get away tool, but once helixed correctly it resets the pillar instantly. I used gear to reduce cooldown times and increase damage and crit. the amount of damage she can put out is tremendous. the good way to play her is to stand near a choke point and just pour fire a few feet behind it. when most players hear the sound of an incoming pillar they will run and you can really control those spaces that way.
