What happens if you’ve used your teleport to get away and that hook comes out of nowhere to pull you back into the lane? At level 4 ghalt’s hook is deadly, not in the sens that he might kill Phoebe (but he still could) , but you’re out in the middle of the lane, already hurting and you have no telport as Phoebe? And Ghalt does respectable damage with a high ability to crit.
Being a Ghalt main, I would love for Phoebe to be around, they tend to teleport and not look behind them when I throw that hook out to pull you back in.
A real Ghalt main would never pull a melee character in without a plan. Phoebe’s tend to be forgetful when they teleport and when they’re suddenly back in lane after a pull back into combat when they are hurting or without Phasegate and they tend to just scramble.
Ernest’s egg in slow mo mode makes it impossible for most melee characters to get in and out of lane anyhow. Benedict is just good against her. Staying out of her range is key.
You are missing something, how did the Phoebe get to that low health in the first place?
Unless the Ghalt also put her down to that level in a 1v1 situation he’s not countering her he’s just finishing the job. In a 1v1, between Phoebe’s ability to teleport in from a distance and do her true strike dance in a circle around him I don’t see Ghalt coming out on top.
Ghalt is a huge counter for a lot of characters in this game, but against Phoebe’s he’s more of a check than a hard counter. He can check her by forcing the player to be more wary and negating their ability to dive in and out of lane with impunity.
While this may sound obvious, I’ll still say it; don’t play her game on her conditions. If the Phoebe knows what she’s doing, she’ll carefully pick her fights on typically only push 1v1 situations. Therefore, the best counter is to simply skew the numbers in your favour, make it a 2v1 or maybe even a 3v1.
A Phoebe could easily pick apart a lonely Miko (unless he has specced for stun and got it ready), but if Miko was behind a Montana… Then it’s a different story.
I barely see anyone play Phoebe though, so I sadly can’t say more. I think @lolattheseforums was right when he said snipers. Especially ISIC who doesn’t rely on crits to deal large amounts of damage. Just wear her down from a diatance and always keep her low so she’s too weak to dive or force engagements. But that’s easier said than done.

Idk man, maybe I didn’t meet the right skilled Phoebs (however I met one the level of diving into a pack, and getting trifecta easily, so…) but I find my Alani doing quite well against her - providing I don’t get pinned to geometry ofc as sell melt me in 2secs. Especially with Attack Speed gear (not mentioning attack range and Attack speed helices) I melt bubbled/slowed Pheobe very fast.
Also if I got well connection I find her Phsegate slowing trail surprisingly easy to dodge.
@SirWalrusCrow I agree, easier said than done. But about your miko example – a ton of the cast could get 1v1 miko and win, he’s one of the characters who needs to be by an ally to “work”, like Reyna. Even with the stun, he’s in trouble.
So far, the only reasonable and non-truckload-of-CC counter I’ve seen is Montana (though he hurts a ton of Melee characters, I mean something more specific), Ghalt (same thing as Montana, he’s also a little on the strong side if you guys know what I mean), and overpowering her through numbers. However, if your numbers are squishy, good luck…
What is it level 7 when she gets her GG mutations.
Anytime before that she is actually fairly weak, or if they are not using shield build. You just got to dump damage on her. Then she gets her mutation and by the time you think to turn around she’s got damn near full shield again and your like “Fk me” in which she replies “for science!”
ISIC’s role is what exactly? His ultimate is what he relies on nowadays. He seems to be a damage and artillery-style half tank character, but he’s such a big target and he starts out with less health than Shayne and Aurox. What is the deal with that? She’s not even labeled as a tank in the first place…
This is just wrong is so many ways. His charge cannon does obscene amounts of damage, he can actually use his abilities outside of turret form, and he isn’t as slow as an uncloaked Pendles with a heavy slow applied. His ult is mainly for helping in pushes or holding back an opposing strong push.
And that’s what makes him unique Imo. He can grab ranged agro from the back line and make the enemy team play themselves while still dishing out damage. He has virtually no counter and counters many characters with ease (Benedict, most big characters, Pendles, certain melees, healers etc.). He’s really not suppose to be a tank at this point. Just very tanky.
Oh, sorry, his primary and then his ultimate. Which he can easily get CC’d out of anyways. And sure, you can do obscene amounts of damage if you stack attack damage and broken stuff like the Bola’s Target Finder.
he isn’t slower than an uncloaked Pendles with a heavy slow applied
I’m questioning your point here. One, the attacker, defender and support tags (in regards to movespeed) are glitched. Two, I’m having a little bit of trouble reading this: you mean he’s faster than “uncloaked Pendles with a heavy slow applied”, like the rest of the cast except maybe Alani? Or you mean he’s faster with than uncloaked Pendles even when there’s a heavy slow applied, which goes back to my “One”. ISIC with movement speed helixes can get pretty fast, but you’re sacrificing tankiness on the character who is meant to be tanky and already begins with barely more health than Ghalt for the more “viable” damage/offensive build. And you have to be overcharged in order to get that ultra move speed bonus from level 5… which means you’re not releasing your overcharged shots… which is your main source of damage…
“Very tanky”…? You and I must have completely different definitions of tank, because ISIC can’t even sustain damage without his abilities. And even then, Ward strength is a bit of a stretch.
virtually no counter
Aside from his fatty shape and habit of directing all incoming damage toward himself, you mean? Man, he doesn’t exactly have the tendency to be ignored like Toby or the toothpick frame of Marquis and Thorn. Once ISIC’s pocket healer is dead, he is too – if he even has a pocket healer. An ISIC without one has to play a lot more defensively and conservingly. Like using reflective wards, which brings me to my next point…
…his helixes.
Some of them are just so incredibly inferior to the other option. Every character, except Phoebe, has this problem, but ISIC (along with Mellka, maybe just behind her) is one of the Battleborn that suffers from this the most.
Plasma dash damage amplification? Plasma dash shield pen? Stationary wards? Anti-Melee orbs that replace your best defense ability? Small dash cooldown reduction versus a heavy increase to your ward strength? It goes on…

The answer to this question posed by the OP is simple in my mind. I’m no pro, but hard CC applied liberally counters everyone.
Can’t do that? Escape to others with CC, make 'em kill hungry and hope they follow right into a melt-face-a-thon. (Keep your team harrassing Phoebe, she often has a rough time) That’s my favorite, assassins get real bloodthirsty. The best ones never do though, thats ok…now ,we’re talking skill level and experience and that is a whole different ball game.
Don’t want a part of the argument: “My Phobe can rek anybody” “My Monty can rek yer Phoebe”.
I’m just glad someone has a problem with someone other than Orendi or Gali.
None of those characters are OP in my opinion. Just need a different approach to handle.
That’s why you have to time the ult. Use it when you’re pushing with your team while the enemy is distracted. His primary scales off both attack damage and skill damage. There’s really no reason to run anything else on him besides that. Even without using gear like that, his damage is still very good.
Grammar error. Should be fixed now.
Sooo what’s your point here?
Tanky ≠ tank. Tanky means he can take more of a hit than other characters and has several tank properties (high-ish health, offhand 1k dmg shield, wards) but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a tank.
ISIC is a sniper. A sniper is in the back line. Any damage that comes to him, which is mostly ranged, can just be blocked off, reflected, or downright ignored because most of it won’t do any significant damage to get him out of lane long enough to make a difference.
Once again, ISIC is a sniper and if you really want to give a pocket healer to a sniper well… good luck. ISIC doesn’t ever need a pocket healer to survive. In fact he’s never needed a pocket healer at all. Snipers don’t need pocket healers.
