Tannis gives Doctor’s Orders, and it becomes available right when you get the main story mission to go to the WEP. You can pick up slag samples on the way, but leave all the Doctor’s Oders echoes in place if you want maximum LLMs. (You can pick up the Maya lost echoes, though)

Ohhh Tanis has it, ok
She did give me the sample mission as I was running through and finished that.
I will not pick up any echos in WEP at all.
Ok, I’m going to try to farm these midgets for my first time tonight and try to get a feel for it.
Thanks everyone for answering these questions for the hundredth time! Lol

Just needs to be Picked up, does not need to on as the current mission, I will always pick it up from Tannis then switch back to the story mission on my way to the WEP.
remember Open all boxes along the way to it for possible Random loot midgets,
Good, I would also suggest having the game set at friends or invite only, if set on friends, I would make sure that any who join know not to pick any up, I have removed several friends (from the game and my friends list) who insisted on picking up just 1 echo up over my objections
And be careful picking up ANYTHING near the echo recorders. You get into the habit of opening a chest by holding the (in default on PC) the E button to grab all. If your are too near an Echo, you will grab that too. I had a friend pick up the one in the LM room by accident but picking up the ammo on the other side of the room. In fact, I was outside the room opening the ammo chests on the other side of the wall, and picked up the echo through the wall, even though the box had NOT been opened yet. If that happens, Alt-F4 out and close the game so it doesn’t save.

Yeah, done that myself playing solo a few times, and had to dashboard out. It’s a good idea to trigger the save point by the exit to the stalker pen before opening any of the boxes in the LLM room, just in case!

Wish I would have read the last 2 messages yesterday. Somehow I picked that stupid echo up so now I only get 3 midgets.
The last 2 farming runs I did, no loot midgets came out. Since it takes a bit to run there in uhvm, I went on to something else. I did 5 runs total. First run, open the boxes and 4 came out…3 ran away and I got slammed by badass skag so I started again. 2 & 3 run I got a relic each (ones I didn’t need) but the best out of the loot that dropped. 4 &5 run…no midgets at all. Did level up to 62 though.
Try again the next time I’m able to play

If you have the Creature Slaughter Dome, you can shorten the run (you may have to complete the main WEP story mission first though - not sure about that). Just travel into the annex then continue on your way; you should respawn right outside that same door after a save-quit-restart.

Ok, I do have the creature slaughter dome. I knew there must be a shorter way. I’ll try that. Thanks for the heads up.
Also, is it common for the loot midgets NOT to spawn sometimes?

Yes. It’s basically a RNG with high probability, but you do sometimes get poor results. Each echo picked up reduces the maximum number of LLMs by one, but you can also get less than that randomly. Make sure you don’t have any red dots visible on your minimap before opening the boxes, as this seems to affect things too.

Ok, thank you. I’ll give it another go the next time I can jump on. (Hopefully soon)
Though it’s not really worth farming for midgets, I have seen them in Hero’s Pass before…just for the record. It would be nice to get a full on list of where people have seen them even if it is really uncommon.
Sawtooth Cauldron seems to be a good place for them- I’ve had them pop up out a toilet on a couple of occasions…

Yup, outta toilets is one of my favorites! I’ve seen them pop out of the outhouses as well, and sometimes you’ll get them out of the cardboard box and washing machine right at the beginning. I’ve had runs of 7-10 going through there if you go the whole map; they’ll spawn everywhere throughout it. And it’s where I saw my chubby midget! Horrible enemies but no denying it’s a hotspot.

Nice! Never said I looked but they did put Hero’s Pass in there. Hard to tell what lootables are checked off on mobile though, I’ll have to sift through it when I’m on my computer.

Agreed. Too bad Discourse doesn’t seem to cough support tables cough in posts
On my first playthrough (blind, no forums or knowledge from a wiki or youtube) a loot midget dropped me a Hornet out of one of the first chests in Heroes Pass. Wasn’t impressed with the stats, but equipped it because of its rarity. Such a great area to have that gun drop in, I just melted my way through. Been a staple of my inventory ever since. Probably my favorite legendary, because of that. It felt so cool at the time, like it really was ‘legendary.’
That is an epic find for that area. Awesome gun in general.
I’ve done this before, after killing them all. I can’t remember what I got, but I know it was a legendary. Very frustrating having to dashboard.

The hornet is an awesome gun for the collection. I killed bunker with it in a matter of seconds in uvhm using that and the bee. I always keep that gun in slot.
