Cartel bosses can spawn into any location and drop their cartel loot. I’ve slapped fish slap all over the place and received the grenade on athenas, trashlantis and pandora. Only they drop the cartel loot–regular cartel thugs would not.

Also, depending on where you are the cartel thugs can be…ratches? I was doing Maliwan Takedown last night and while killing ratches at the start the cartel thugs would spawn in as ratches. lol.
wait until thursday and traunt will be free again
It sadly just doesn’t have a good droprate, but farming Traunt on M6 or higher is the only way to get it.

The Kaosun usually drops for me about once every ten runs. Guess I just have good RNG. I’ve had a ton drop from Traunt actually lol.
Nope. Regular trooper. Same place three different times now. Only time I’ve have had an underboss spawn is going up to the steps to drop down to fight Traunt.
farmed traunt again last night for an hour.
No Kaoson, its a very vary rare drop for me. Not sure why.
Just looking for a x2 with good anointment, at this point I’ll take anything.
Best farm is the scraptrap fight, I can almost always spawn in 3-4 cartel mini bosses to kill. I’ve stopped doing the event as this is a lot faste4 than killing at the Villa.

What platform. I have an incendiary Kaosan with an ASE healing pool does 4419 damage so I don’t think it is M10 but I’d you want it done are on XBOX lemme know.

Thanks for the offer but I’m on PC. I also got an M10 fire version gifted to me so I’m set on fire for my Amara. Now I just need an M10 cryo version with 150 Rad under 50 health for my Moze! 
So take the following with a grain of salt, or for what its worth, or insert your own cliche to mean, “I’m not positive but…”
I am doing Traunt M10 runs and my easy modifier is Lootsplosion which provides a 10% chance of a lootsplosion, but a guaranteed lootsplosion if the kill is done via a critical hit.
So my O.P.Q. is good enough to take Traunt down fairly quickly, but not too quickly (like my yellowcake) to the point where very often I can put the last few shots where I want.
You see where this is going. I did about 20 runs, perhaps a few more; most of them critical hit kills. I got two M10 Kaosons. I’m not sure what to make of this but I thought I would put it out there.
2 hours later…
About 7 more runs and on a critical hit kill I got another Kaoson. That makes less than 30 runs and I got 3 Kaosons.
Farmed Traunt for 3+ hours a couple days ago and a hour and a half last night. In that time I got 2 kaosons. Drop rates are terrible and they didn’t fix them.
Just farmed him for 3 hours. The biggest issue is the loot tables. If you’re gonna tie loot to a specific enemy, it should have a higher chance to drop that legendary if a legendary were to drop. It’s bad enough you can’t find the one you’re looking for, but then you need to find one with the right anoint and good rolls. It’s a joke. There’s too many items and not enough builds. About 10% of the items are actually usable and the other 90% is filler. Not ideal, Gearbox. Not ideal at all.

I would be interested in seeing how you would fair doing it like I did. Reroll your modifiers until you get lootsplosion for your easy, then try your best to kill Traunt using a critical hit. If you don’t get a Kaoson after 15 critical hit kills then I guess I just got on a good streak. Although none of my Kaoson’s are really worth writing home about. I was wanting a SNTNL cryo or a 200.
They need to up the kaoson and all mayhem 6+ weapon drop rate dramatically. I’ve farmed traunt at least 300 times on mayhem 10 and I got one crap one non automatic with a crap annoitment wtf!!

for some reason tho it was a pain in the ass to drop. 
I havent been using Kaosons much after they were nerfed for the new DLC weapons so I have some Lvl 57 M10 variants with ASA 200 and various Elements on ASE if you’d like it, you can have them. I need to clean out my constantly full bank anyway …
