How to incentivise practice mode idea

I had an idea that when people play practice mode that at the end of the match the player would get command exp and credits. In addition to this they would “not get” character exp or lore challenge progression as that is not need for beating bots. As it is now if you go into practice mode you get nothing but what you learned from testing that character/build, some people I have talked to about this already agreed with me I was wondering your thoughts on it?

I kinda feel it works better as is. Why would a private match against bots to test a character and mess around lead to you being higher on a ratings board? In a private match during the beta you could set up a 5v1 match and decimate your opponent. Why should that get you exp or money of any kind? That seems like it’s just a way to inflate your numbers without actually doing anything.

obliviously some more changes would need to be added to match making and how this would be set up. Also doesn’t even have to be a lot of exp/credits but at the moment that private match setting has very little use to it, could be revamped in a way to be more helpful I don’t know what that would be but in a way its not over exploited. For example and I didn’t want to mention this but look at smite, it does exactly what I just mentioned and I don’t think people mind it. plus I hope you saw the part were I said “not get” character exp or lore challenge progression, as people cant do this indefinitely and would have to play versus or pve to get these done. This concept only helps newer players and people with less exp as people who are good at the game wouldn’t go this route.

I noticed how you stated character exp and lore challenges would be unaffected, but I feel many issues remain the same. I suppose if they had specifically a mode dedicated to practice where you could do what you currently can in private and a separate mode that did what you suggest and (as you stated) at severely reduced numbers. I just feel that a “practice” mode should be just that; practice.

More than that though I feel that the story mode is already that incentive. You gain exp/lore challenge progression/coins and you can practice with characters. That seems to be a large reason as to why there is a story mode in the first place.

you could alo play story mode. it’s not like enemies are difficult (at least not “expert player difficult”)

The way i understand it you can complete lore challenges during private versus bot play. I feel the rest of the way it is set up now is just fine. Command and character XP should be built the way you do now. Otherwise you could just turn on private versus against bots go 1v5 and try to lone wolf a win.
Wait maybe thats the only way you get any XP from private versus.

I defiantly agree with that, but people seemed to rush into pvp without doing pve first to get a sense of how the game works. I have seen to many people who were not ready to go into pvp and had no idea what they were doing. Also pve and pvp are still different in map layout and that you fight battleborns not ads/bosses. Either way if something is or is not done about this I think the game will still be ok just wanted to mention this as a way to help players get more familiar with the game, as I said high level players wouldn’t go this route for exp.

You can not. I tried during the beta and I doubt they’ll change that for the full game.

They could during the early access, I didn’t try during beta.

I played PRIVATE only matches for the one day of the beta I had it. I did get player progression in the private lobby. It was not changed to 5v1 or anything…just normal/normal on all settings, but yes I did rank myself as well as characters up in Private Modes both PvE and PvP…
