How we can fix Ambra's primary attack

Whoa. That’s a glitch I’ve somehow never encountered the whole time I was mastering her.

As to her movement speed, she is middle of the road at best. People keep saying she’s fast and I’m wondering what the heck they’re talking about. I get out run for shards at the beginning of every match I play with her. I don’t get how people are complaining about her primary when her heat strikes do an ass ton of damage. That’s where the salt should be directed towards.

The strikes need to be charged up, are melee ranged, average attack speed without gear and don’t deal that much damage. And most importantly, they need to be aimed. That is the biggest difference.
Ambras beam on the other hand can have great range (when locked on, go test it out, it’s insane!) and it locks on. You don’t have to aim, which means that every tick of the damage it does, hits. A ranged character like OM might do more damage per clip, but they also need to hit their bullets.

I don’t think it’s that troublesome, but I definitely see why auto lock on attacks might be frowned upon by some.

The other issue with her beam, aside from the fact that it seems to be able stretch across half the map, is that it requires no effort aim at all, to the extent that she can simply jump like a maniac around most characters while still doing full damage and while they can barely damage her at all. Combine that with massive life steal and it’s extremely difficult to lower her health at close range. If you do she gets a free overshield and can just run away, drop a sunspot, and heal up in the space of a few seconds. If YOU try to run, her beam will just stretch to follow you forever.

Sunspot CD also got buffed to an insane extent, considering that they damage you and cause you to take more damage while healing her, and her primary attack also damages you while healing her

You have to do certain thingsituations to do the glitch

Blind breaks her beam as well as Miko’s.

True she cannot sprint while the beam is active, but put some movement speed gear on her and good luck getting away.

I think the length of the latched beam does need to be reduced VERY SLIGHTLY though (nowhere near as short as it was after her nerfs).

This is untrue. I lose lock while playing her all the time. You have to keep the target in you sights, which isn’t as easy as everyone here is saying. Sure if they run in a straight line backwards it makes it easy to maintain a lock. Jump around, break line of sight, really anything other than going in a straight line makes it hard to maintain a lock. It’s like most of the people complaining about Ambra have never played her. And I feel like the point has been buried that her primary has the lowest DPS in the entire game. Not one of the lowest, the actual lowest DPS in the entire game. Seriously. I think having the lowest DPS in the game is a fair trade off for the homing attack.

Yes, it is true. It really, truy is that easy. As easy as just looking at somebody on the screen. So easy to land that the only way to avoid it is to not be seen.

Or, ya know, break line of sight. Coupled with the fact that the range to actually latch on is relatively small, it’s not that hard to get away.

There’s a simple counter to her that you’re just not seeing. Don’t engage her close up. That’s where she shines is close close-medium combat. OM or WF can suppress her pretty effectively. Whittling her and her SS down from range will frustrate any Ambra. Any character that has range has an advantage over Ambra.

She is one of the slowest character without any slow and with only one speed buff on her passive at level 5… a possible push back at level 4 but useless if she chase you. And a stun only at level 10.
All character have at least a control (Slow, Stun, Push Back or Bump) or a movement skill (dash, jump, stealth, speed boost etc…).

So everyone should be able to run away from her as she is the less mobile character with Reyna and Ghalt. If you are in a middle of a fight that you may not win without any escape plan, it’s your fault

THIS!!

There’s so many people in this thread that have said she is so fast that I thought was taking crazy pills. She’s not fast and she can’t sprint while attacking. She is not terminator people are trying to make her out to be in here. RoR at level 4 is her only reliable way of shaking melees all up in her grill.

increase attack distance a tad bit more IMO. Longer channeling the more DPS it deals.

You can’t just break line of site with a character. That’s essentially just telling people not to fight her.

Engaging from a distance also doesn’t work, seeing as how she can either just walk around a corner and heal up or simply walk right up to you. Sunspots with almost zero CD are also good area denial weapons to keep you from being able to camp anywhere.

Run around a rock. Or a corner. Up some stairs, anything.

I do it all the time. Its fairly easy, and unless you’re already mostly dead, you have a really damn long time before it kills you.

I was playing as Ambra. I saw a Deane with maybe 5% health. I chased her all the way back to her supply station. It out healed my damage.

I’ve been trying to stay out of this discussion but your quote is the same niggling question in my mind. I main Ambra so I know how fast she moves and I too have absolutely no idea what the heck they are talking about either.

I’m talking about breaking line of sight when she locks on, which it seems like most other people can and manage to do. I’m sorry you are so salty about Ambra, but you seem to stick your fingers and your ears and can’t/won’t hear suggestions people offer to you to deal with her. Again, she has the lowest DPS in the game with her primary. Every other BB can out damage her. It’s not a death sentence when her primary starts attacking you. She’s not even close to the fastest character in the game, so you can usually out maneuver her. If you can’t or won’t try to use these tactics then I suggest you avoid engaging her all together. Some characters just aren’t meant to deal with other characters. Shayne is gonna have a tough time against Benedict, that’s just how it is. Perhaps whoever you mainly play just isn’t meant to be a counter to Ambra. That doesn’t mean she’s broken or needs to be nerfed.

There’s a sprint attack glitch.

PLEASE tell me how to do it before they fix it!

No. It’ll attract too much attention.
