It might be a bit late to join in but I really like the idea of units being individually produced and then they form AI managed squads when grouped with other ships of the same type for easy unit management. Such as having one movement/attack marker for a delta formation of seven fighters instead of seven markers cluttering up your display. When they engage in combat they break formation and fight on a per unit swarm basis. (Aka. The fur ball combat style)
What this accomplishes:
You donât have to return a squad of four fighters in order to replace the one who got destroyed. You simply produce another one and send him to join the squad.
You can combine squads. Letâs say you had two formation of five Interceptors. After the fight the two formations have been reduced to three and four units. You could then combine them into a delta formation of seven units.
⌠We just got a freakin LOBBY !! A feature much desired by the community and BAM we got one, despite the fact that they said they wouldnât do it. And please remember, this is NOT a triple A game that sold millions of copies, to expect huge teams working on this title is ridiculous to begin with.
I usually am on the critical side of such debates and would probably agree with you, but call me naive, I really have a good feeling about this game, or it might just be the fact that I loved playing this game and am not very objective when it comes to it
