Pretty much my reasoning for trading being ok in my books. When getting near perfect rolls (not even perfect) is akin to winning the actual lottery, I’m going to take the shorter route.
Though I would not be a fan of simply creating the item, that’s a different ballgame. But, as you said, if someone wants to make possible items, they can go right ahead.
Making impossible ones and just letting them loose in the wild is kind of bad practice in my opinion.
Do fake items pop up on consoles too? Or is it generally safe to trade with people and not get exploited stuff?
Yes, but it takes longer for it to happen and it’s a lot more rare. I got dumped a whole bunch of modded items playing TPS in the lead up to 3. It’s usually obvious though.
yup, i just farm for good things then trade away for the items/stats i want. i have no doubt that some of my items, particularly COMs and Artifacts, were modded so that they were worth trading for, but i can’t control that aside from not trading, which isn’t a reality. i can only make sure that the parts/stats they have are possible rolls.
Colour me weird, but I actually enjoy farming. The lottery is exciting. Even though I get offered some god roll stuff from friendly randos, I knock a fair bit back. I did accept an anointed CMT because it took me since launch to find an unannounced one in a vending machine, but otherwise I’d get kinda bored if I got given everything I want on a plate. Plus, I don’t think streamers are the be all and end all, the advice on these forums is better and randos just bang on about their favourite streamers build. One mailed me a transformer shield and told me to wear it because he was running a chain Zane and didn’t want me to die. Thanks mate, I have five, anointed, but they don’t work for my build. Also. He put me in FFYL about 20 times running takedown. Kind gesture but I think if your build kills ya squad it’s no good.
He was nice enough to warn you but you have waaay more patience than me.
After about the second time of going down I would have skedaddled.
My absolutely favorite coop players at the moment are the impossibly OP Zane and Amara players with rocket movement speed…
I get eye and finger strain just trying to keep up.
But I really do not mind because they are just min-Maxing their character like I am trying to do.
What I do mind is at the end of the fight, and they are the host, they scamper around so fast checking all the dropped gear and then end the connection or take us to sanctuary before I even have a chance to look at drops.
I enjoy it too, I’m just getting at how some items can be top tier with the correct rolls, but ate garbage otherwise, and the likelihood of farming those items isnt realistic.
I know everyone has told you this is modded, if that’s what you have, but you sure that’s not +5 Phalanx Doctrine?
10/5 Phalanx Doctrine is pretty fun, especially in something like Slaughter Shaft.
This is the perfect example of why it would be awesome to challenge skills on the fly. 10/5 PD is sick for mobbing, and sucks for bossing, which is why we prefer the 3DM/2PD bloodletter. I’ve been considering an SoR build utilizing a 5pd epic COM so that I’m not stuck with bloodletters downsides.
Yeah, k6, joltz and moxsy get sent items all day without knowing what can or cant happen.
It happens, and it’ll always be out there. It’s more of an FYI from everyone more than anything.
But imagine, if you will, a world in which we can achieve Zane-like kill skill bonuses without killing. Now that would be interesting (and likely broken)
I think the capstone of his blue tree activates all his kill skills when he activates his action skill. But his Seein’ Dead com activates them just by shooting. You can double stack kill skills with that com.
