the dlc has been out for quite while its long gone past “no spoiler” i think as once dlc or game has been out few month i dont really care if people spoil it or not as makes 0 difference if i enjoy it as end of day its own experience when you play it yourself and not what others say. but it was fun dlc maybe for like 2-3 days then it got boring and never went back it (as was farming on it tempory after doing dlc but got bored of it fast)

Loved this DLC. I liked the narrator and how the accent was over exaggerated, was wonderful. Great story, cool baddies, awesome loot. Perhaps my favorite DLC, close call with Guns, Love, and Tentacles.

For me probably this was the worst DLC:
-OST was really ■■■■ (Like whoever came up with those tunes should be fired. I mean how could that noise pass QA?)
-The setting was ok, but pretty generic and we already have desert like levels (should have chosen a different setting)
-Also some oversights: no area highlight on planet view, and you cannot track how many mission are there on the planet or in particular zones.
-And lets not forget that after this DLC the HUD resize completley broke.

It was very reminiscent of season one of Westworld, which is riveting. A mix of horror and Ennio Morricone.

The soundtrack fitted perfectly with the genre mash-up of the DLC environment, though. I really appreciated it from a compositional POV - there’s some serious musical talent there.
The only part I would agree with you on was one map where the battle music was basically just discordant percussion; that works as a musical ‘punctuation’, but having it play continuously got seriously grating. It’s the only section I turned the music volume off for; the rest of it was great.
The guy who ends up singing in the saloon was really good too.

Music was genius and the mash up between western and Japanese movie was too. Almost like a good Star Wars.
As for the narrator. Yes it get repetitive over time when you play it several time back to back. I remember that.
But I do love it and think it fit perfectly. If I had a complain it’s that the volume was too low for my second language English. Maybe a narration volume slider for BL4? !!

Yeah… I do like the DLC, really! It is a well-done DLC, and I will play it with every character. (well, the first time was a b{bad-word}h but once I learned the flow of the DLC it became easy as {heck}, even with Zane-the-easily-killable.
Just saying.

Fun fact concerning Westerns and Japanese movies, and Star Wars:
1: American Westerns were popular within the US.
2: Japanese movies saw that and said “hmmm…” and the Japanese movie makers started using the American Western style in the Japanese movies.
3: Then, American movie makers looked at the Japanese movies, and, in Star Wars in particular, used Japanese movies to influence, to some degree, in some movies (Star wars, in particular).
So… American Westerns influenced Japanese movies, which influenced American movies. Yes, it sounds crazy.
{{PS: When I refer to Star Wars movies, I am ONLY talking about the ORIGINAL TRILOGY}}

I don’t mind the idea of a narrator. I just want it to be Marcus. He has a great storytelling voice. Either that or Clay, since Clay is an NPC that is connected to Jakobs already. Though honestly I would have preferred that Clay be the one driving the main missions.
I firmly believe that GBX dropped the ball when they decided to go with no recognizable NPCs in DLC3. I found the whole thing boring. I could not even finish it I was so bored. There was no investment for me in any of the new characters. I found myself wanting to join Rose and help her wipe out the town. I mean, c’mon. She controls frickin’ dinosaurs that you can ride for cryin’ out loud! How cool is that? (I don’t suppose that is an option later on, is it?)
Anywho. Like the western theme idea. Like the tie-in to Jakobs. Like the idea of a narrator. Hate the narrator they chose. Hate the lack of existing NPCs to give me a reason to care. Find the DLC as a whole to be boring as cr@p (and stinky, too). Maybe someday I will go back and finish it, but I am not in any hurry.
That’s my story and ah’m stickin’ to it…

While I think the narrator in the DLC is great, after the DLC dropped I’ve wondered what it would be like if Marcus was narrating the entire series, starting from BL1. I mean the series starts off with him narrating and each game continues that tradition. One of the things I liked about TPS was the way it was kinda semi-narrated by Athena (with some color commentary from Tina, Brick, etc.)
It would be just kind of a cool thing, plus it would eliminate the way exposition is sometimes awkwardly crammed into the dialogue of characters (especially in BL2 where the player is reminded many times in a hamfisted way by Jack and others that Jack is mining eridium, etc.)

I also got a complaint about the Bounty of Blood DLC: my Fl4k can’t finish it’s main story because of a progression block on ‘Riding to Ruin’. And yes, we are talking about a paid DLC that is about as old as ‘the Last of Us 2’.

Other way around! The ‘spaghetti’ Westerns made by Sergio Leone are heavily influenced by Akira Kurosawa‘s Classic Japanese samurai films, such as The Seven Samurai.
Star Wars was influenced by Sergio’s films.
As are The Mad Max films and as such Borderlands and this DLC.

While you are correct about the Sergio Leone movies (especially the ones starring Clint Eastwood) there was actually quite a bit of cross-pollination between genres even before that.
Star Wars is Hidden Fortress is…

That’s fair I suppose, however most noteworthy examples run east - west, not west - east. All great cinema though.

I have run through “Bounty of Blood” Twelve times already, and I am going to start my Thirteenth time tomorrow.
I have “figured out” that (for the Normal-mode, at least) that it is best to do it as the FIRST DLC. Because the final reward includes about 4-6 legendaries in the bank
Just saying…

Just a little shy of your 12. Finished the story with 11 VH so far. Not every one have done “extra missions” so far.
Came to the same conclusion if someone want good gear quick. Could be only rng but it feel like world drops are better too. Many bosses have 30% dedicated drop rates instead of the usual 10%.
So yeah. Gahenna for the win.
Took the liberty to peek at your profile and seem you may be on PS4.
Good news. I may have a “key in hand” solution for you!
If you are on PS4. Send me an invite. PSN ID is the same. Dr_Do-Little. Please put the “reason why” with the request.

I loved this DLC and I thought the narrator was great. The way he chews on his massively exaggerated western accent was wonderful, much like the NPC Addie in the Meat Man side quest. Love that one! This DLC and Guns, Love, and Tentacles are my favorites.

I’m afraid I’m on Ps5 at the moment. But thanks for the offer anyway.
I don’t even have the game installed anymore, I was just expressing my deep annoyance that Gearbox hasn’t addressed that issue yet.

Oh, don’t be mistaken, the DLC is quite good, but I still hate the narration of the DLC. I have decided that I play this DLC first because the final reward is some sweet loot!
