A rubberized Contraband Sky Rocket?
damn you got one? well that must feel good as hell
I can still remember the very first quasar i get from this game. It’s in the chest in three horns divide while im doing the The Iceman Cometh mission. That’s why whenever i travel to three horns, i always drop by to that chest hoping for another quasar, i still use a level 72 one in OP8.
which chest? the one at the top of the stairs in that area or the one over on the left side of the area on the walkway above the furnace?
Also your story reminds me when i got a Splasher Blashter (i like them sue me) by randomly opening a dumpster in Overlook. I was like what the hell and had to do a double take. still feels good
I love mine - I seemed to get a great one every few levels from upper UVHM to OP8
yeah that one, the red chest on top of the last furnace.
weirdly enough I haven’t gotten a legendary in a chest in so long. I think i got a Mod a little bit ago but other than that Legendaries from chests have been extremely scarce. to the point i wondered if the game nerfed chests or something
Speaking of red chests, I know I don’t think there are any that are ‘better’ than others but dang if that red chest in the Badass Crater behind the billboard sign next the Seraph vendor seems to be a good one. I’ve been hitting that one a lot recently because I’m farming that vendor for a longhow slag Crossfire, and it almost always seems to spawn a sea of blues and purples with a sprinkling of e-techs/legendaries with nary a green or white in sight. (Latest was a fire Nasty Surprise which I toyed with for a bit, tossing them down at the Torgue Rioter guys before vendoring it later, heh.)
That happens, just the way RNG rolls…
It’s always worth looking while you pass through though - you just never know.
run through again the ice cometh mission in normal with my new krieg and there it is a legendary grenade with a black, blue and red markings on it. my excitement vanished when i look at it and it is a nasty surprise.
I like the Nasty Surprise… if nothing else it’s an esxcellent vehicle for delivering slag. I do use a higher OP version to increase the damage a bit though.
Take a little time to learn the pattern and timing on that grenade, and then enjoy it. Like a lot of legendaries in this game, its gimmick is not a “toss and forget” (or “shoot and forget”) one - you have to learn how to use it effectively. But it’s not bad for what it does.
fuse time though is 2.2 seconds. sucks.
The Nasty Surprise is like a homing longbow MIRV: throw it in front of you, not necessarily at enemies, and they’ll each eat a little pile of child grenades. The delivery system is insanely good, but it’s not going to hit like the crowd favorites.
Even though it’s nowhere near my favorite grenade because like you said, it doesn’t hit too hard, I always seem to end up playing around with it for awhile whenever I find one, because I just like the mechanics of it.
