I Need a Hint About AGONIZER 9000

corrosive cutsman, corrosive dictator (aim to narrow spread), corrosive lucian’s call, ghast call= solutions. also giant crit tank on back, and all those little power boxes as well as his eyes are weak points.

don’t stand in place for any period of time, you’ll be able to see the heated floors, just dash to areas that aren’t glowing red as fast as possible, shield/artifacts that protect against fire dmg can help here as well if the floors are what’s taking you down. lvl with side missions/crew challenges if you feel that might help. you can jump over the sword that comes out of the agonizer’s mouth when his head is spinning and run to avoid his cleaver, when he’s chopping down.

if you’re solo, zane’s clone can distract the A9000. moze is tanky with SOR skill tree, and Fl4k does great with critical damage (the best critical dmg is in the Jabber skill tree, and the monkey can shoot and distract the A9000 as well, just get a jakobs and you can melt him that way as well.

If it helps I have a couple tips. Hopefully you won’t get shafted. (yes it was intentional) Treat Agonizer less as a boss and more like an obstacle course, with dealing damage as a low priority. This is an endurance boss so you’re biggest focus should be your health, bring something that heals you. Another tip is grab a snowdrift artifact if possible. He has some really obvious tells so watch him closely, not the crit points. When you dodge an attack that’s when you go after him. Keep 1 bandit alive for rez, but remember they can and will die from his attacks. Oh and on floor fire try to go in the opposite direction of the fire. (clockwise to counter clockwise) He just hit that spot so it’s pretty much the safes area.

OK, I have some fresh Cheese to offer as some kinda help.

I am putting another Siren through Normal mode. I picked up the Blood Drive mission (which ends with the Agonizer) at about lvl 28.
My guns weren’t great, so I said Hey, why not do the Moxxi DLC to get some of those legendaries!
And off I went. Finished that, and picked up both a Lucky 7 and an Ion Canon ( have always gotten these in each playthrough so far), so well ready for the Agonizer.
Obviously, you also have to be gud enuff to take out the Fabricator, Freddie, and Pretty Boy, but they are less time consuming than the Agonizer.
Back to the main line story, and I’m lvl 34 and the mission is still lvl 28.
Which meant the Agonizer was lvl 29. And a lvl 29 Agonizer is no match for Ion Canon shots, took 7 blasts to kill it.
Soooooo, if you want to do it easily, take a side route through Jack’s Casino and pick up good gear and levels, and it’ll be a breeze. Cheesy Breezy.

Agreed. Leveling up is a good idea and I like the idea of the DLC to get better equipment at that level. When I do Amara or Zane I’ll have to do this.

Use a corrosive Cutsman. /thread

Actually an easy weapon to get that just melts the Agonizer is the Linoge. Holy crap that thing destroys the Agonizer. And much easier to farm than the Cutsman. Not going to say that the Cutsman is not good but much more difficult to get a hold of.

Yeah… that character is doing the Handsome Jackpot DLC for some on-level corrosive weapons so I can finally DESTROY the Agonizer 9000.

In the DLC you should get the Robo-Melter Masher as part of the mission progression. Get any corrosive ASE anointed grenade from a Marcus vendor (shouldn’t take more than 10 mins of farming with the current event). Use Rakk Attack to keep the anointment going. Spec into Megavore. Fight shouldn’t take more than a minute.

OK, first off ya’all should know that I am @$$hole to myself, because I am running, on “normal” mode TWELVE characters, four characters + three trees = twelve characters… don’t ask, this is what I do with the Borderlands Franchise.

ANYWAY:
I played a bit with the “Handsome Jackpot” until I got some corrosive weapons on my level, I was level 37 when I went back to Carnivora, and faced The Agonizer 9000.

I didn’t even need to face anything except for the flaming floor, and while I had pistols, sub-machine guns, combat rifles, and sniper rifles that did corrosive weapon damage, the only thing I used was a pistol. I kicked his/their/its {butt} so damn quickly, it amazed me (insert do side-missions).

I had no idea about the game itself, other than the things I have learned by playing itself.

Tanis is a siren!?!?!?!?!?

Seriously, I didn’t even think about that. I was saying like {bad-word} {bad-word} {bad-word} {bad-word} {bad-word} .

I need to think about this for a while…

DAMN… Borderlands 3 is a great game!!!
