(Using amara elemental w brainstorm n elemental hex grenades and consistently healing for a crapton with loaded dice for higher heal returns for damage as example (ya built in a grog nozzle eh gearbox? Thank you))

I notice sometimes one shots occur at full health and that at times invulnerability after healthgate doesn’t seem to work (instant ffyl from consecutive damage). Anyone know if there are exact mechanics at play (healthgate cooldown, enemy damage that ignores the mechanic) or is it just kinda glitchy? I return to full health almost instantly alot of the time but something seems off. Thanks for your knowledge.

I do like that they made moze to completely ignore the mechanic with shield build. Brilliant. Don’t know if it will function once real endgame unrolls but brilliantly diverse design.

I too have suspicions about healthgate.

I haven’t been able to fully test it, or screen capture, but I feel like I’ve been one-shotted a number of times when I was over 50%, or at full health.

The only thing I can currently think of is that the elemental effect of a shot is not combined with the gun damage on the single shot, so the gun damage does not break heathgate, but the associated elemental damage does.
I’m not talking about picking up a DOT, I’m talking about the initial elemental damage.
Could be wrong about this conclusion.

But in any event, there have been more times than I like when I feel like healthgate ain’t gating.

Or the first tick of a DoT happens so soon after the initial impact that any delay is not noticeable?

I sometime even get one-shot with Full shields and Full health and a Stop-Gap - Perhaps some lag issues or something, who knows, luckily I have my pet.

Oh and what also happens way to often to be coincidence is that it triggers FFYL at the exact moment I click the throw a grenade button, I mean exactly then and it happens very very often, it’s like if there is some code “If player throws grenade at 40% health then ignore the throw and trigger instant FFYL”. At least the Input lag for sure isn’t in favor of the player, the inputs of the player seem to have less priority than the ones from enemies or something.

This “the input lag” also happens with opening stuff etc. Like I point on it and click, but nothing happens, just like my button press has been ignored.

Yeah maybe dot damage is prioritized above healing so that if they happen instantaneously the game counts the death rather than the heal tick. The above set up is capable of pretty constant healing (recurring hexes generate grenade on action skill). Barrels seem to ignore it too pretty consistently.

Eh. I dunno I almost constantly have dots on me and definitely gate a lot as I’m not much of a hider. Maybe it slips through occasionally or there is a per x time increment on the healing ticks that mismatches with the dot tick occasionally? Dunno enough about that stuff though.

I guess an Elemental Projector could come in handy then.

Maybe it is just carelessness with dots lot of the time. Will watch more closely.
