Hey i wanted to go ahead and post this for anyone who might possibly care. I’m still reading all the comments and at the time i was temp banned i was in the middle of trying to reply to some of the new ones that had just been posted hours before. There is actually quite a good significant amount of comments to this thread which I am intending to reply too (including a little bit of a counter-point for SpiderTeo first post). However i am trying to wait for my main account to be available again before posting too much. When i get access to my account again i intend to try to reply to a good deal of the comments on here.
Also apparently there’s a limit to how many likes you can give on this forum (or at least there are with new accounts).

Just one tiny nitpick.
Fragtrap = Claptrap from BL 2.
Didn’t you see the ending credits? It has Jack shooting Claptrap, taking away his stair climbing wheel and then Hammerlock finding him and repairing him.

It’s a plot hole. There are clappies in BL1 that climb stairs without the special wheel.
Actually claptrap just couldnt believe in himself enough to do it. He could climb stairs his whole life, but after Jack shot him, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Is that the real explanation? 'Cause if so, that’s a pretty dumbass plot hole.

The prison claptrap in the Knoxx DLC climbed stairs without a special wheel. It’s just a plot hole.

Because it made it easier. In BL2 Claptrap really could climb stairs if he wanted to.
I think we can stretch and guve it the explanation of:
MOST Clappy units could not climb stairs.
There were a few specialized models that needed them and were given them, though (the stair climbing wheels, i mean).

Im saying that if you interpret it as “most clappys couldnt climb stairs, but a few specialized, customized models could”, it’s not a plot hole, just sn uncommon occurence.

Every single clappy in the BL1 Claptrap DLC climb stairs to reach you depending on the map. The Knoxx DLC prison Claptrap climbs stairs to open a door to unlock a chest. I’m sure there are other Claptraps that ended up wherever they were by climbing stairs. The “can’t climb stairs” thing was a joke that Burch made up that ended up becoming a plot hole. That’s it. Nothing else to it.

Or it could be just claptraps personality changed. Even in BL2 it was physically possible for claptrap to. The only explanations why he couldn’t climb in BL2 is because he didn’t want to, or be cause when he was repaired by Hammerlock, he didn’t have as much wheel power as before.
That is possible. Clappy has been hacked and reprogrammed so many times that stuff is bound to become f*cked up.
