Actually, Chronicle was just to carry the codex info. Mellka lead that mission, and she’s not against tech. Before that Chronicle was not in use though
EDIT: I THINK/HOPEFULLY
Are you sure, because shorty after activating him, Chronicle mentions that Melka has some “overdue library books”, which would mean he was there before the mission took place, as he CONSTANTLY refers to the grove as “a library.”
Also, he starts off in a tour-guide mindset which, to me, means that he worked there.
Sorry, I meant to add probably like eight times. I’m not sure at all. I had actually almost tripped while writing that so I lost my train of thought. You’re most likely right
Yay, i was right about something!
By the way, i did extensive testing with attack speed gear on Toby with a stop-watch for 10, 20, and 40 seconds of continuous fire, multiple times. My consensus:
Attack speed gear DOES make a difference on Toby’s raingun charge time, but only by a helpful degree on the 40 second test; in other words, it’s not worth it, unless you use something like the Vow of Zealous Fury at max stacks. I’ve since changed that item to the Moderniesta.
I’m sorry to do this but… I think you might be wrong unfortunately. There’s a post by Grant (balance designer) who said that for ISIC Thorn and Toby he’d have to put in a new type of great to change charge time, and that attack speed has no effect. Sorry. I don’t have the post but I’ve had this exact conversation with a few other people. It’s on reddit somewhere. Your results may unfortunately be human error. Ofc, it could be that that has changed, but I doubt it, and I think this was after the July patch
Nova [20C]: Stand by for real-time translation: “Uh huh. That’s rich. Varelsi, huh? Yeah, they sound really scary. About as scary as Garblanthix Ur, the Lord of All Sentinels. Who is fictional, and thus NOT scary.”
handy app fore finding anything it seems!
-shrugs- I may be; there’s always the chance that i was slightly faster with one test than another, which would increase the average shots-per-time. Either way, even if i AM right, the results i got were too minimal for me to justify using attack speed gear over something else.
However, since Gearbox seems to have some trouble with character balance and posting everything they tweak (looking at YOU, Burning Sunset legendary), i can easily see them being wrong about attack speed gear on Toby too. I’m PROBABLY wrong, but even if i’m not, i freely admit that attack speed gear isn’t worth it on Toby.
About Chronicle, he has one line there he says “Hm, thats not my job normally. Then again, tge Grove isn’t on Fire normally.”
Also he doesn’t want to leave the Grove, so it seems he was in use before he gets activated in that mission.
Still got to get the Sentinel to mention Ur
tested it in a private bot match with 4 ernest eggs, if it does provide a change it is minimal at best
Yeah, i realized that i mixed up the start of that qoute, but was too lazy to correct it, as the important part was the “lord of all sentinels” part. Thank you for posting the full quote.
Good to see i’m not crazy… about this, at least. I have yet to test it with Toby’s Riding the Rail helix AND attack speed gear active at the same time, but that MIGHT make it acceptable. I doubt it though…
I think the attack speed gear itself doesn’t affect it is how it interacts.
Sorry, i’m having trouble understanding your last post; are you saying you don’t think attack speed gear works AT ALL, or that it only works when combined with some other attack speed buff, like Ernest’s?
Does not affect at all(as far as charging speed) is my experience thus far, or so small it isn’t worth it. As far as spamming shots goes I didn’t think to check it
Yeah, that’s what i thought you meant; my own testing is the same: “minimal at best”, if my testing wasn’t all over the place, in which case it does nothing. It definitely affects it when you spam uncharged shots, but that’s counter to how i play Toby, and thus irrelevant to me.
All right… I’ll finally bow to the “doesn’t work at all” party.
Glad my testing helped someone out!
Even better, it’s Thorn who turns into Garblanthix Ur when in her normal form then turns into it when she mutates. Epic boss fight ensures.
Wouldn’t Boldur make more sense, being half tree already?
Because he’s a dick, and he’s got fat stacks just sitting in a vault. There’s your reason.
