With the level cap at the same time that would have made much more people upset than happy. As they would have to pull all their lvl 50 characters up to 53 before doing the event (granted its a quicker journey than we expected)
Also that would kill the only “legit” way to farm for anointed ones on console.
You can also manipulate the cloud save on console. Much more tedious than PC, but faster than collecting the 100 hearts again and again.
For end game farmers, most likely, even though these folks already have all VHs at 50, so it would be as simple as “disable event, level to 53, enable event, profit!”. Plus, you control when you are getting the gun today - it will show up only when you click on this little chest icon. Just wait until L53.
People who like leveling characters and would love a cool gun to play with before L53, not so sure.
Anyway, it is what it is.
If you had more than a week and could claim it after the event Id agree at least for the Poly which would probably be a great leveling gun. But since the Invitation is a BiS gun for a lot of builds now Id want it at end game more than leveling. Though all this could be fixed by making it a dedicated drop.
I really liked this one. The hearts were fun and I love Maurice’s comments. Actually it’s his comments I’ll miss most, easily my favourite character in the game. I’d love the option to turn this on for longer. Or to have Maurice comment more on murdery things I do.
Looking forward to whatever the next event is just for more Maurice commentary. I wonder if GBX can work him into a DLC, even if it’s just a cameo?
Having a couple weekends to play with it would have been nice.
One of the things I loved so much in BL2 and missed so badly in BL3 is how almost everyone was a psychopath, even your friends/allies. Maurice brings back that vibe, and I love him for that.
Hitting 100 hearts broken took about half an hour and after getting a bunch of forgettable equipment from the loot hearts I stopped looking for them and went back to the usual farming spots lol
It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t particularly interesting either (except for Maurice cackling about broken hearts.) While I’m not unhappy it happened, if they did something different for next year I wouldn’t complain.
For the amount of content it offered I think it was the perfect amount of time. I mean it wasn’t really anything all that great, but a nice little free event for Valentines day and I was surprised at how quickly it could be completed, although I’m glad as I was only able to play last night since the event started. But I got all 5 rewards for the 2 characters I currently have. I’m really just looking forward to the next DLC, and hoping for some changes to both the mayhem modes and annointment system, as it is very frustrating when I finally get the gun I am farming for, but it has a terrible annointment on it. It just makes farming more tedious, and I’d love to see some kind of system where stats and/or annointments can be re rolled using cash/eridium since there is really no use for either once everything is purchased. Like a crafting system of some type.
