Мicro transactions? Rly, Gearbox/2K?

Hm, i’ll keep any judgements before we know anything, as it could go both ways (Good or bad)

We’ve known microtransactions were coming for awhile.

let me see this. I have payed 75$ for the game, just to need to pay extra to have skins. Good job gearbox.

Microtransactions are cosmetic only
So exp boost is a cosmetic?

Yeah, that’s… Not very good. It’s one of my key issue with OW. You don’t add MT to a B2P game ( although Mass Effect 3 did after all, and it wasn’t the only one ).

I’ll wait and see how it goes… It’s never good news though. Especially when you can get lootpacks that don’t include cosmetics only this way.

I seriously think 2K had a hand in this, not GBX per say.

Credits costs for marketplace items were still there. If anything its giving the ppl that want to do so an option to unlock everything using a credit card

If they’re going to do this, they should reduce the price of the game or just take the hit and make it free. B2P and microtransactions are not going to save a dead game.

Some stats. Yeah, if it gives f2p, it would be better for this game, but if it’s not, RIP Battleborn on PC 2016-2016

yeah, it’s my bad

At this point pretty much every publisher is going to tell devs to put micro transactions into their games. Its a good business model bc people will buy it even if some people are upset by it. And its not like GBX tried to hide anything with them everybody just kinda forgot about it.

@JoeKGBX can we get a statement on the new currency and what exactly its going to be used for.

Oh no :frowning: I was so hoping I was going to be a happy consumer who’d paid a very respectable opening sum and would then never be pressured for ANY microtransanctions in-game. This isn’t candy crush goddamit.

I want the game to survive. If that’s what it takes, I’m fine with it.

BUT

While I’m not normally one to think we are owed anything, this is an exception. Early adopters should be compensated heavily and on an ongoing basis if the game goes the f2p route.

Totally expected microtransactions, especially since they mentioned it from the start. However, this is why people complain about communication; there’s been no hint or clue that microtransactions were coming in the recent battleplans, and also no mention of T2 skins/taunts or how they would be obtained.

Balls… :unamused:

The communication is a whole different conversation on some things its great on others not so much it kind of feels like they don’t want to talk about things they think are going to upset people but it would be better to just tell us n get it over with

Agreed F2P would fix low pop on PC at least and eventually could go f2p on console if need be, would be the first popular moba on a console too i’d assume since I dont have any consoles

I think smite currently is top dawg in the console mobas, seems to be for the ps4 at least.

If this game goes F2P and they provideo these microtransactions but to get these platinum coins even people that orginally puchased still needs to pay for them I am done… I paid $75 and I will be damned if someone picks up the game and spends 10 bucks to have an advantage over me.

Heck I would be done period one of my biggest supports to this game is that it was not a pay to win and there was no micro transactions. And I have seen countless comments by our moderators confirming the game would not have any micro transactions.

I got a great idea though how about instead of making micro transactions you drop the first DLC that I paid $15 extra for…

This is very unnerving and disrespectfull to the current BB community.

Yes, I find I’m in agreement here. Gearbox have been great communicating some things, particularly fixes and design developments, about which there’s a limited amount that can be said before release… but having a ‘Gearbox marketplace’ button added that right now doesn’t do anything at all is a bit concerning?
