In an ideal world, I would not want to be locked behind an arbitrary level requirement either, but in the lack of a tutorial, there needs to be something. The PvE requirement was an idea I had out of what we have. It is a flip of a switch. If the devs want to create some PvP tutorial, I would be much happier than the PvE option. I also think that playing through the PvE helps people out with teamwork and game mechanics better than anything that PvP can do, at least early on or without players helping you along. I played last night with a CR 1 last night (I donât even know how thatâs possible, the prolog gets you to 2 at least) and I had to get on mic to walk them through the basics. We ultimately ran together for a few matches and the player was really thankful.
As for character balance, as long as gear remains the same then characters are broken. Some characters need their helixâs looked at and some need tweaks up and downs and what not, but I would say that the majority of characters without items are balanced. But since this is a GBX game and gear is a big part, and it needs to be overhauled. Hell, last night (I played a lot last night) I was playing with a CR 105 and not the best player I have ever seen, but when they got their third legendary, they were really good. Gear shouldnât make a player better, or unbeatable.
As for a fix to mm, I donât really care as long as it takes less than 15 minutes to find a match and I donât get split from my friends.
I did read your post, and I only agree with #4. As for everything else, I would like to redirect you to the following
Again, our player base is low right now, and fixing matchmaking will have a higher player retention rate than anything else.

My opinion
fixing matchmaking would breed proper games and would increase player retention. itâs so important to note that player retention is what this game has always lackedâŚnot player base.
Step 1 - fix matchmaking. donât tell me âitâs impossibleâ. Most online games from 2006 have better matchmaking than this game.
Step 2 - Gearbox gloats everywhere (everywhere) that they fixed matchmaking - provide statistical analysis on how they fixed it - why they fixed it - why it was horrible before - and the future impact this will have on battleborn as a whole. And also combine tease and hype up some sort of ânow that we fixed matchmaking, we want to stress that we are invested in cultivating this game on a competitive levelâ
Step 3 - announce ranked game mode. announce drafts. and make a couple of much needed debuffs on a few select OP characters (gal, ben)
Step 4 - watch old players come back because as they all know - the core game itself is great - it is just that they all got bored pub stomping as a way to pass time.
Step 5 - Announce the free trial - which sounds like it will be something along the lines of a âfull version game but only a tiny portion of the full versionâ.
Fix Matchmaking. Fix Matchmaking. Fix Matchmaking. Fix Matchmaking. Take 2 months of no new updates if you need toâŚand just spend time on fixing matchmaking.
Fix matchmaking. Fix it. F I X. I T. Fiiiiiiiiix iiiittt. Fix. The matchmaking. Fix. Matchmaking. The fix. For the matchmaking. Battleborn matchmaking. Fix it.
Riiight, the matchmaking. The matchmaking system for Battleborn, the system specifically designed to matchmake for Battleborn, Battlebornâs matchmaking.
