I hear you.
But, talking about Fixed stats to price, why not mention the character legendaries?
They have the full 1800 price tag, but they are also fixed to a non-max stat (they are close, though).
I agree. If it doesnât have max stats, it shouldnât have a max price.
I did mentioned them, didnât I? I said they too have to be upscaled to provide full stats. I mention them in the very first sentence of the original post.
The variability of the legendary gear without changing their price is a big problem, especially once you start trying to balance these things in PvP. Given how rare legendaries are in the first place, itâs heart-breaking when you get one and have it be below-average in quality.
The thing is, itâs not a diablo-like RPG where you can inflate somethingâs cost based on the amount of bonuses it provides, because in battleborn (at least in pvp, where it actually matters), your access to credits is limited, and when you spend them on gear, you deprive yourself of experience, and your team of valuable objectives alike.
What do you mean by me not knowing how much they are charged? With simple math I provided earlier, I know exactly how much they are charged. On full-statted legendary, you pay 700 for the main stat, 350 for the secondary one, and the remaining 750 you pay for the passive. If a legendary happens to have less than max stats, simply subtract the cost of the missing stats and add them to the cost of the passive. Which is the core of the problem - worse legendaries of the same kind cost as much as the good ones. I have two Sentinel Switches, one has significantly lower stats than the other, yet both of them cost 1800.
Also, if youâll check most recent battlebplan, youâll find that most powerful legendary passives are getting nerfed⌠dramatically, rendering their passives even less cost efficient.
I mean that your 750 shards charge is correct only when you assume their prices are maxxed out. But you donât know if this assumption is right, because devs didnât say a thing about it.
If you get another assumption, like, if their prices arenât maxxed out but limited instead, you get different number.
Because RNG. Got a crappy stat roll? Damn⌠looks like youâll have fight that boss again and/or buy more packs! Iâve said it again and again on this forum⌠this RNG rubbish worked in BL series because it was constantly throwing gear at you. They seem to have ported the exact same loot system into a game with very low gear drops in general. Like, 4-5 pieces of gear for 35 minutes-an hour long mission is normal in battleborn. The chances of a legendary plus the chances of a max stat legendary is just plain stupid. Thatâs not even factoring in the blatantly obvious fail of making every legendary have the same activation cost.
I was about to make a similar topic on character legendary there ahould be max stat.
later on other legendary are just going be so much better as they will have maxed stats where as character ones wont for the same price.
Even some epic gear will be better.
Ambra lengendary for example is now at 6 percent cool down and 6 percent heal power with the effect as soon as i get a epic with max stats 7 percent cooldown and 7 heal power for 750 less shards its going to be better than my legendary, as the effect is nice its not worth an extra 750 shard and minus 1 percent on the other stats.
You did a good job making everyone charcater legendary the same now just max the stats so they better than epic gear and on par with other legendarys.
Their prices are maxxed out, because there are currently no higher price for a piece of gear available
I donât know, maybe we understand that word differently?
If you get the assumption prices canât be higher than 1800 no matter the real price so the real price of max stat legendary is something like 2100+, but you only have to pay 1800, is it still called âprices are maxxed outâ?
BTW, I donât argue with the main topic of your thread. I share your feeling legendaries cost too much.
You are just operating on speculation here with this â1800 is not maximum priceâ, because you assume they might cost more. But the thing is: they donât. Currently, 1800 is as high as it gets. Also, when I start to think about something costing more than 1800, Iâm starting to doubt someone will ever put that in his loadout and remain effective in the game at the same time.
This is not a speculation. This is another possible explanation of fixed prices.
You canât say that because you donât know how it works exactly.
Based on currently available information you canât say whether the prices are maxxed out to 1800 or limited. Everything beyond that point is just a guess. Thatâs what I tryed to suggest.
I operate with blunt facts. And the blunt fact is: current maximum price for a legendary is 1800. Period.
I can say it, because they donât cost more. To top it off, I am convinced that the developers themselves donât know how it works, hence the lazy decision to just price all legendaries ever with the same static price, regardless of anything.
That thing I see as most likely to be))
I received a legendary Corpse Reviver yesterday with a activation cost of 824? I will upload a pic tonight. Anyone else ever had this happen to them? It also doesnât really have a legendary bonus its a weird legendary
I thought they fixed that one. Itâs blue (or some other non-legendary rarity) item that for some reason was being displayed as orange.
I just want to also agree with this. Legendaries should be just that: Legendary.
If the argument is âwell then some tertiary abilities would be too powerful, if they were always on max stat gearâ, then rebalance them.
Thereâs no reason I should get a legendary and think âWell, thatâs a nice decoration in my bankâ.
Personally, I have two min-roll legendaries, that arenât really that good in the first place. But as-is, theyâre worthless (Executive Insurance Policy and Generous Refund Policy)
Youâre right, itâs a bugged Rare item. But, it sells as a legendary (250 credits), so thatâs cool.
B tw I really donât get what was the idea behind having all the character specific legendaries having average stats. They cost 1800 just the same and cannot be dropped again, so why?
And also, most of the time, their special abilities are kinda niche/even bad.
