Imagine PVP without meelee characters,

I’ve been playing Battlrborn for 200 hours and now I see that not all characters are equally balanced. Mellee characters are a lot easier to play cause of no need to aim becouse of wide spread of damage done by sword/fist/etc/. Becausee of that you always see 2-3 melee characters in a team and team with all ranged characters are always weaker cause melee always have a way to shorten the distance. Rath, Phoebe, Galilea, Pendles mostly have 10ish killstreak. Is it fair or balanced? imagine a community move or an in-game event like a “week without close combat characters” . Woldn’t it make matches more interesting and tence? There are 8 or 9 primary melee characters. it is normal for MOBA but nonsence for shooter. And making this game more shooter-like than MOBA-like is a better way to attract players.(Battleborn can compete with shooters even wits Overwatch but never with DOTA LOL etc,)

Strongly disagree. Virtually none of my deaths are from melee characters… they have extraordinary difficulty doing anything at high-ish level play due to the amount of bouncing around (as Alani for instance I just lol as melees try to touch me with 30% move speed helix, 30% move speed boost and pushback from riptide, thin character model, quick melee, constant bunnyhopping/sprinting and dropping geysers at my feet). When I play as melee if I even tickle an opponent they usually hightail it and nail me from range.

I don’t know what to suggest other than playing melee counters like Caldarius or Benedict. There is deffo no systematic imbalance in melee favour. If anything it may be slightly the other way. Can’t remember ever dying to Shayne & Aurox…

Actually this is really only a low level thing.

DOTA and lol are not shooters. They’re normal MOBAs and melee characters have both an easy time and hard time depending on the characters and builds.
BB isn’t a shooter either. And just like other MOBAs it can be pretty hard to play as melee against some characters bc not only do they have to close the distance they need to keep it short and are quite vulnerable to CC at the same time Melee Got a buff recently that reduced the push back of the off hand melee button. It all depends on who is playing what character and how good they are.

Melee characters aren’t strong enough compared to some characters actually. They take too much damage when approaching.

Sounds terrible. I’d miss getting free kills because I can shoot them from across the map as Whiskey Foxtrot.

No but seriously, melees are underpowered in most situations. As long as you know where they are, and shoot a good amount of bullets at them when they get close, they f*ck off pretty quickly.

…? What? Dota and LoL aren’t it’s competitors. Do you really think Gearbox wants those salty trolls here? Hell no, they can keep their toxic players. Overwatch? Pfft, you mean Team Fortress: HD Edition. The only reason that game’s doing so well is because Blizzard knows how to market games.

2k pushed it out the door, presumably to compete with overwatch. without ANY marketing at all. Gearbox, if you’re reading this, SEPARATE FROM 2K!

Their your publisher, it’s their JOB to make sure people know about your game. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THEIR JOB.

Stopped reading when you said a full melee team would perform better than a full ranged team. Good luck taking the sentry in Incursion. In meltdown too, it’s much more even grounds, but range still has the upper hand over melee, just because a ranged character needs to be out of position to get taken advantage of by melee.

Right? I’d be licking my chops if I saw an all melee team coming up against me.

Phoebs(That queen) highly disagrees.

I never had a problem, I like melee and think they are balanced, but not underpowered

Yeah, melee are pretty underpowered in this game - you just aren’t used to it yet.

Hey I’ve been in high level play, are you questioning my questionable skills
