I head-shotted Eclipse with my Blowfly quite a few times. He appears to take some DoT, but the effect wears off quite quickly. I wasn’t able to compare the damage numbers for the projectile hits versus shock, fire and non-elemental since the fight was just too crazy for that sort of thing. No idea about EOS - that was just insane, even in 2-player co-op. (And this was in TVHM not UVHM!)
I wonder how many players have simply given up and quit playing as a result of this fight?

Athena is easiest for me:
Followed by Nisha. I should farm me a Bonus Package to take more advantage of Tombstone. Crit flakker + bonus package should help with damage output at the beginning.
I haven’t figured out a smart way for claptrap yet. Just OLT flakking the boss all the time, and trying to follow him around. Ends in a death, but not without taking him down first. Dunno if the Laser Disker or Kaneda’s Laser could be a game changer here.
With Aurelia, I’m also not quite sure what a smart approach would be. I know how to oneshot Eclipse/EOS with prestacking I never miss, but I’m looking for a way that works with a cold start, too. I figured I’d start with Pitchforks, but unless the other classes, I can’t take a beating here, and even Swarmers down me alot, and I regularly run out of ammo. I can still finish the fight okay, but there seems to be lots of room for improvement. Advice appreciated here!

Impressive. Although I’d like to know how quickly you can run the same fight in TVHM with a level 50 Athena, using only found gear? I am really curious about the extent to which those extra skill points from levels 61-70 change the fight dynamics and balance of the game.
I use a zx-1 (protip: it follows EOS when he disappears to charge his shields) to build stacks, the damage it does is basically zero. He counts as armoured

Any shock weapon with a high pellet count or rate of fire and a Raging/Surging Storm com will do the trick. The only 2 skills needed are Unrelenting and Elemental Barrage. If anything, the encounter should be even shorter on lower difficulties.
an electric cheat code was doin WOOOOONDERS for me last night, as soon as he says “Look into my eye” i would switch from an electric taser to the cheatcode and just let loose a stream of bullets. it ate his shields like crazy. the crit effect lasts from the moment he says that to a quite a few seconds after the laser fires. with athena the fight is actually pretty easy, if not a lil tedious. i got the electric cheat code from a previous chars turn in and well the taser from the holodome. i was trying a corrosive bullpup once the shield dropped and it seemed fairly effective, my maelstrom stacks were pretty high from taking his shield down prior.
eletric taser + electric cheat code + corrosive bullpup = WIN!

did you try a rerouter ? will it work better ? then i go farm one
the health regeneration is stil a big problem for me with aurelia
I’ve played through this DLC 3x now and don’t have any of the legendaries (other than the cheat code from finishing the DLC and a logan’s gun (long slow rasberry indeed) from EOS/shadow-trap).
Just recently got a shock SMG … until then a corrosive SMG pistol was the only elemental glitch weapon I’ve found.
I can’t get anything but greens and whites to drop … and that is playing UVHM mode.
So a rerouter is nowhere in my inventory.
Been grinding and farm like crazy too … well for me like crazy … and getting nothing.
RNG hates me … I’ll keep at it … .not at 70 yet anyway so nothing counts until then for reals.
P.S. I think that give me one hit for psychichazards bingo. LOL!
I’m not a big fan of hard to kill but when i respeced for that fight i went ahead and grabbed it. Was extremely glad i did. Most of the time it only takes like around 5 to 15 seconds to reach 100 from 0 stacks. The stacks usually stay for at least a minimum of a minute on average. That’s makes it where you spend prolly more then 90% of the fight at 100 stacks. The Move seems to suck in general but it really shines in this boss fight.

In uvhm health and/or shields are quadrupled, so it takes a bit longer to kill stuff. I’ve put my last 10 points into omega senshu to get through the last 50% of health bars faster.
@timer1
I do have a Rerouter. It doesn’t work well with shotguns cause the amp is divided by the pellet count, and survivability is worse in general than a high capacity adaptive that gives extra health as well.

I went ahead and recorded all characters:
Kinda disappointed with Wilhem’s stopping power, but whatever >.<

A rerouter works for general mobbing with Aurelia and Athena. Aurelia stays far away from the enemys and Athena has her shield regen stuff. But in a boss fight like this, where you get washed over with damage, the Rerouter has no chance to show its strengths. Jack can make great use of it, though. Thanks to Winning. For this fight, a fast charging Nova-shield like the Black Hole does the trick fairly well.
One question: i did EOS a couple of times with Jack for testing gear-setups and wondered why the Boxxy Gun does more damage than most other SMGs? The only SMGs that could beat that damage, are the Torrent and the Cheat Code, all used as shock-on-shield-weapons. All guns were shock elemental

Dunno, did you compare Card damage, and the Boxxy did more than the card indicated?
@piphoff
Wilhelm can beat him okay when timing his overcharge a bit and using Maliwan Splitters for the cont. damage boost. I was using [this build] ([Build] Captain Cold - When Hell Freezes), and just switched out the COM. Shoulda used transfusion grenades to stay alive more during action skill cooldown. A little over 6 mins for Wilhelm should be okay.

Conduit at 999 maelstrom stacks would like to have word:
For real, if you’ve got an Athena, get a Rerouter, it’s amazing in every situation. Even at the usual ~200 stacks.
Just used a Mongol with Claptrap against EOS.
WAY better than a Badaboom. One magazine ends a phase if constantly having 5 stacks with Load n Splode and Audacious Sapper COM.

Going to try to beat EOS again tonight as Athena. This time throwing my build around and use a ZX1 to keep stacks going, a Hyperion Quad Barreld shotgun and a shock Hail.
Hope to finally beat him.
Good luck! I beat him yesterday as Nisha with Maggies. Lasers didn’t work at all.
I used a MORQ shield and an Eddie for defense. Purple Adaptive Shields would probably work just as well.
It sounds like you could benefit a lot from having a Shock Hyperion Shotty.

Thanks dude!
I’ll need to learn to swap weapons every so often but the Ack Ack will help tons.

So, I initially played this on my UVHM Timothy (currently at L67). An hour-ish into the fight, after Eos’s first shield recharge, I just quit. Had no problem getting second wind (thanks to Leadership, I think, and the abundance of one-shot trash enemies). Was able to do consistent, if not overwhelming, amount of damage. Just took WAY too long.
Tried it again in TVHM with a L50 Claptrap, and was through in about 30-ish minutes.
One thing I learned? Glitched weapons are important to this fight. Especially the DLC-unique ones. That laser with Pickle’s voice? It’s a simple MUST-HAVE. Also, I got lucky and found Kaneda’s Laser in a vendor, and I snatched that bad boy up by the collar.
Yeah. Use whatever glitched weapons you can get your grubby paws on. Don’t be afraid to let the boss wait, and go back through the rest of the DLC’s side quests, and farm some gear. I honestly think that the DLC-peculiar gear is designed to give us the best chance of success against the DLC’s final boss, and THAT is some good thinking on the devs’ part.
