I’m always up for a bit of explaining if people are keen.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but Reload speed gear shows “-49%” as a positive attribute, “-22.87%” as a secondary attribute and “+49%” when listed as a negative.
Otherwise, loving the app, nice work!
Ahh that will likely be a result of that scale bug I mentioned. Keep reporting any more quirks and I will sort them out.
[edit] I removed the patch i previously applied to make up for the missing scale multiplier, which seems to have corrected Reload Speed to displaying +21%/+9.80% again. I quickly checked all the other stats where I’ve applied my own patch to correct the calculations but none of them seem to have changed from what I could see. If anyone does spot any out of place values, don’t hesitate to bring them to my attention.
[edit2] Spotted that Gear with Lifesteal on them may be be displaying incorrect values. I have adjusted both Leechsteel Brooch and Synthaline Tonic to +5.60% Lifesteal but I don’t have Oath of the Sustained so if anyone can confirm the max Lifesteal on it that’d be awesome. The first 2 use the Lifesteal “Major” stat, while the last one uses the Lifesteal “Minor” stat yet right now the minor stat is bigger than the major stat (+5.60% > +8.40%).
I highly recommend everyone suggesting community badass to joekgbx for this person right here. Seriously lowlines, you’ve done so much for this community
Beat you to it.
I’ve recommended a few people for Community Badass to Joe already. I was going to recommend you but you got it before I even had the chance.
Back on topic…Turns out due to the way I am filtering gear for secondary/tertiary skills, some Legendaries with very unique functions (ie Character specific Legendaries) were getting excluded from the results. I’ve created a manual list for these special cases so they can be pulled through. Lifesteal for instance now has 6 gear items that will offer some type of Lifesteal function. There could be other non-character specific Legendaries too, but the skill naming conventions are generally consistent enough that I am able to automatically detect them.
Is there a way we could filter out negative effect results?
For example:
I want to find all items that have reduced Cooldown time. So I select “Cooldown Time”.
My results include things that make sense, as well as Depleted items (negative CDR). Similarly, if ONLY want negative results.
Maybe a kind of checkbox like…
Include Positive Effects:
Include Negative Effects:
@lowlines Oath of the Sustained max stats
I’ve an other suggestion but something that would take mmore time and testing…
==> Add a small “comment button” on each legendary which open a small field with more information
ex: Synthaline Tonic : “The LifeSteal is only working on the first attack after sprinting. So use it with high damage skills for maximum efficiency.”
Would be usefull for more information, as the duration of stacks with gears like Vow of Vengence/Fury etc…
Maybe it could be fill by the community
Off-topic: I think I beat you beating @jjand302 to it
Seriously, @lowlines ambitious projects make the BB-experience so much better - you´re a blessing for Solus!
Great news. I use @lowlines gear search on a daily basis. It would be great to see that hard work and diligence recognized.
Not really news since theres nothing to report yet, but I really hope Kalei and me might get heared by Joe regarding this
nah, I just mentioned that several of you had suggested it.
Thursday’s patch has A LOT of changes. So your sir have your work cut out for you. Good luck!
@studdugie I am hoping and crossing my fingers that they patch the old files and not do what I think they’ve been doing with other patches and lock these changes behind an obfuscation/encryption wall.
Best case scenario, I just have to run a script that will grab the latest data from the files and everything will be right as rain. Worst case…It’s only really Legendaries and that’s like a fraction of the whole gear set. There’s also the fact that hotfixes should now get applied to the actual files instead of temporarily while the game is running, so I’d have to check these too. I know what I got myself into when I started these projects, that’s why I am trying to automate as much of it as possible, but at least game patches have a couple of months between them
I’m quite glad I halted work on the Gear Skills project though, that one there had A LOT of manual iteration involved with it.
@tbawin Cheers!! That one should be displaying the correct Lifesteal value now
Also with the comment idea, it makes total sense to have it (there’s even some skills that have that extra information that isn’t displayed on the card) but I don’t know about allowing user entry as that could open my website up to a variety of nasty vulnerability things (if used maliciously) that I don’t much want to have to deal with right now. That sounds like the beginnings of another guide post that could source user knowledge which I could pull from when adding more information about gear quirks.
Definitely! The more time you can devote your thoughts and interests into something the better. It also is quite rewarding to share such projects instead of keeping them to yourself. I have a few cool little Borderlands things I might eventually finish off and put up once Battleborn slows down or maybe in the lead up to BL3.
What I also love with digging around the data is finding little cool tidbits left by the developers such as Galilea’s R3 Augmentation “It’s Dangerous To Go Alone” is actually referred to as “MasterSword” internally. I mean you could probably pick up on that via the description, but I think’s its cool that the pop culture reference continued right down into the property names instead of it simply being like BlackGuard_Aug_R3 (BlackGuard being Galilea’s internal name).
I don’t think the max stat life steal on Synthaline Tonic is 14% anymore. I think it’s now only a meager 5.60%.
On a separate note, I appreciate the fact that you’ve made all the gear cards HTML instead of images. This means that ALL the text can be selected and copied. It’s a great UI/UX design decision on your part. Well done sir!
I just love this app. I use it fairly frequently whenever I need to look things up.
Lowlines can you please add an icon on the legendaries showing whether they drop in Normal or Advanced only?
I already have
There should be a small star on the boss source icon which indicates it is Advanced only. This might not apparent at first glance though…
App is super useful, do you have plans to update for the newest patch? There were a ton of legendary changes.
