Is going to TVHM even necessary anymore?

I just wish we could skip the dialogs and cutscenes. It’s just tedious to have to listen to everything again. And don’t get me started on being forced to look at the 6 minute intro when you’ve already seen it before. Way to waste people’s time.

And what’s up with TVHM anyway? It starts off so ridiculously easy. I expected the game to be harder in TVHM than it is in Mayhem 3 in Normal. I also expected loot to be better there, but it’s just more of the same so far. It’s really disappointing.

^I thoroughly second that!

My word. I couldn’t feel any different. Must suck to play a game you hate. Oh well bye bye.

I don’t understand you lot. Why have you bought this game? That’s how borderlands games have ALWAYS BEEN. My mind is blown by how strange you guys are.

Has there been any verification that there is gear or rolls on stats that you can only get on TVHM M3 that you can’t get on Normal M3?

They should’ve kept your mayhem levels from normal and allowed you to play through TVHM with them. I grinded a bunch on normal M3 and was pretty geared up, so I just did a speedrun through the TVHM story in a day or two.

I would’ve took my time and enjoyed it if I could’ve done a full M3 playthrough.

Borderlands games have never given you and end-game style option in normal mode. Granting people mayhem mode in normal makes everything scale to your level and allows you to farm for high level legendaries.

Starting TVHM strips all that away and makes you play a much easier campaign with less drops. So why even have it if I’m getting better drops and more challenging content in Normal? Why do I have to do anyther 20+ hours of super easy content before I can reactivate the challenging content?

TVHM this time was easier than any other Borderlands as well. The loss of Mayhem mode is a head scratcher. The content is too easy without it and I’m not playing Fl4k or Moze.

Borderlands has never given me this easy of a playthrough after giving me a harder option on a previous playthrough. It’s so unusual for a Borderlands game. I’m usually amazed at the difficulty spike on each playthrough. But not this time. I’m annoyed at the lack of it.

Mayhem mode is not unlockable early in TVHM for certain people while it is for others. It sucks that I have to wait and slog through super easy content before I can reenable it.

I’m ok with playing the campaign again if they allow me to do it with the right amount of challenge. But they don’t.

I mean if you truly thought the campaign was that awful the first time through, then I guess not. I am excited to play through again but more powerfully.

TVHM has stronger enemies, elemental is enhanced too, better chance at higher quality loot, etc. TVHM M3 is the hardest mode out at the moment. They might add in UHVM eventually too, which you will need to clear TVHM to do.

If you enjoy the campaign, I would play through it again. I thought it was a lot of fun, and currently leveling up two other VH characters at the moment as well. Just beat it with Amara and about 30-40% through with Moze, and 25-30% through with FL4K as well.

Always want to get at least one max level version of each, and then maybe will go through and replay another Amara but go down a completely different build for a whole new experience.

Feels bad man, if you think the campaign is already a slog, under 2 weeks of release, on a campaign driven loot game.

Again, I DON’T have Mayhem pedestals in Sanctuary. The reason it’s a slog is because it’s a super easy game and all the while I’m forced to replay it without mayhem modes, I could be playing on Mayhem 3 in normal mode.

If Gearbox patches the game so that I can be like you and experience TVHM with Mayhem difficulty instead of the incredibly easy experience I’m having now, It won’t feel like such a slog. Because then I’m being challenged.

Mayhem is important content to make TVHM challenging and I’ve been gated off from experiencing TVHM in the same way that YOU have been experiencing TVHM.

I never said, I was at TVHM M3 yet, I just beat the first normal playthrough last weekend myself. I am playing through normal mode on all 4 characters personally before I start TVHM on any of them.

I only said TVHM was harder, just that it is harder overall (when compared to normal mode), do Ithink that TVHM should be harder? I do for sure.

I think TVHM should be markedly harder than Normal M3, I think that you should have to play Normal M3 for a while, to get good gear, to even think about taking on TVHM.

I am completely with you on that, I am sorry if I said something that detracted from that.

I just was saying, that I personally, enjoy the campaign itself. I think it should have an option for a harder playthrough. Maybe UHVM will be that when the release it for this game. I was just saying, if you aren’t actually enjoying the content itself, then that is unfortunate especially since it is a brand new campaign.

I played through over 12 characters in BL2, and only towards my last 3-4 did I start to ever feel burnt out on the story.

Like I said above, I am playing through on 2 other VH at the minute, and loving the story all over again on both, on normal mode.

So is TVHM the next step after Normal Mayhem 3? Or is it more equivalent to like Normal Mayhem 1?

Closer to mayhem 1 and it might even be a little easier than that IMO. But I admittedly am Moze and borderline invincible so keep that in mind.

I’ve been playing BL3 the way I now play all the other Borderlands: in normal mode, only taking sidequests if I need to stay on-level (a lesson I learned after playing BL1 and BL2: in those games’ first playthroughs I did everything and ended up overleveling myself.) In TVHM I’m going 100%, finding all the crew challenges, doing all the sidequests, taking my sweet time exploring. I’m glad TVHM scales to your level like UVHM in BL2/TPS did, and I hope they don’t add a third playthrough or increase the level cap. I have to admit I loved getting more skill points to play with in BL2 when they kept piling up on the level cap, but at the same time it started to make a lot of builds head towards same-y territory.

Not sure if I’m gonna explore mayhem modes in-depth. Generally I’m not a super huge fan of gameplay mutator mechanics (and I wasn’t a huge fan of the OP system in BL2), but it’s great they’re in the game for those who want to play 'em.

Tvhm is not harder by any means. I just ran through the whole thing because it was pathetically easy. It was a complete joke. Thankfully the game doesnt force you to clear all enemies out to progress so I could run it as fast as possible. Mayhem 1 through 3 is harder on normal then tvhm. Normal and tvhm felt like the exact same difficulty so if you’re expecting it to be more difficult you’re going to be upset. Unless the change it of course

You mean you don’t want to spend half of your time watching unskippable cutscenes and listening to people talk while you stand around waiting for the game to allow you to do what you KNOW you have to do? LOL Honestly i’d say about 35% of the games objectives are “Talk to Lillith” ffs lol

That’s really the crux of the issue. If PS4 was like PC and Mayhem pedestals were available right when you get to Sanctuary in TVHM, I would feel better about doing the playthrough again. As it is now, it’s an easier mode that’s forced upon you.

If you got a day or so to waste you can quite literally run through it. And if you have a grenade damage character you could just drop quasars or storm fronts and kill everything along the way. Tvhm would actually be fun running through on mayhem three. So for those with the bug that allows it on sanctuary 3 be happy

There was a lot of talk prior to release about how great and challenging the end game would be. It’s more like running from point A to point B a hundred times and listen to dialogues. Already getting bored with the game unfortunately. I guess playing with an infinite homing grenade Moze doesn’t help since everything gets killed anyway just by him pressing G repeatedly.

And what’s the deal with Eridium, too? I haven’t really had any use for it the entire game. The few times I’ve actually seen an interesting weapon for sale, it was annointed for a different class, so I wouldn’t buy it anyway.

I would rather play trough the campaign with a NEW CHARACTER instead of doing it with my level 50 char again.
