Agreed. Montana has always been the most balanced character in the game. That’s why he has only ever received one balance change.

Yeah she used to be able to block orendis ult and take no damage, and people on this forum still said she was fine lol…
And now that she can’t lock that much damage anymore, it makes her fine now… sure

She still can block her ult and take no damage. The bug made it so shielded characters could block extra damage from rapid attacks (guns mainly)

I’m not going comment on whether or not I think Kid Ultra is balanced or not. I’ll leave that for Gearbox to determine themselves.

I do think his kit should be rebalanced though.

Reduce the stun to 1 second,
prevent the bleed from being applied multiple times to a target from one use of Bola Snare,
increase the health of his drones (maybe replace Reactive Capacitors with a helix that doubles the health of his drones),
and possibly increase the healing his drones give.

I don’t think he’s unbalanced a la the way of Boldur, but I definitely think he needs some tweaking to his helixes so the triple bouncing Bola Snare wonder isn’t such a powerful cleaner, and maybe better options for healing. His support tag is very mild at best, and I’d hesitate to call him a healer in any capacity. Which is fine if that’s what GBX intended for him, but it is a little weird that half of his kit is a party trick compared to Bola Snare.

Also still want to be able to manually drop Drones when you’re not KU.

I would probably have stopped playing this game if they took out all the stuns. I think they are essential to characters and there kits. But I don’t think a stun belongs in his kit at all.

Yes the placement of helix levels can determine how balanced a character is in playing them. And it makes it hard to truly understand whether the helix makes the character overpowered or not or if it’s just the character “coming together” and this particular debate is gonna happen for awhile about KU regardless of how I feel about it. The only expertise I can offer is my general affinity for late game bloomers and there positions amongst each other. I will never feel like bolas is balanced because there is entirely too much to indicate that it’s broken in my eyes. If KU is meant to be a late bloomer he has the strongest skill in the game only next to orendis who’s is an ult with about 4x the cool down. I think that speaks volumes about the balance of the skill itself

Honestly? I’ve no idea, considering what bola can do. I don’t think it should get any cc past a slow. Any other cc with how easy bola can hit people feels incredibly dirty. The rest of him seems rather balanced. Though a few ppl dislike stacking damage amp drones on him

Lol are you serious OP? Kid Ultra is hilariously broken. Bleed that almost TRIPLES a skill’s damage. Can shoot three Bolas at once (all applying full bleed, so each one can do nearly 4.5x damage because of bleed). Then they bounce off of walls a ton, homing in on you, still doing full damage (which can zero you instantly if you are near a wall). Finally, these homing bolas can STUN you for two seconds. A fast traveling ranged stun, with homing capabilities, in which three of them are shot at once, dealing ridiculous bleed damage to boot. It’s a free kill every 15 seconds, unless you are on a team of morons (and even then, it’s a free solo kill for Kid Ultra every 15 seconds against any squishy character). It doesn’t matter that it takes you 9 levels to get the stun, it’s still broken. It’s broken at level 1. It’s broken at level 4. It’s broken at level 6.

I fully expect Bola’s helix synergy to be nerfed to the ground, and soon. I mean massive (50%) bleed reduction, reduced damage (including bleed) on each bounce, and no stun unless it is a direct hit (no pass through, no bounce).

Also, stacking damage amp drones is an issue. For two reasons. One, it’s a potential 81% damage buff. Two, it bugs out, so that if you lose a single drone, you lose all stacking and go down to 16%. You can’t stack again until you lose all your drones first.

However, reading this post, where a developer comments that Boldur has been performing as expected in terms of damage output since the update buff, has made me lose what last bit of faith I had in the balance team. Gearbox is fantastic at world creation, but they have proven too many times over the relatively short life of this game that they are clueless when it comes to character balance.

I think your really misunderstanding the balance teams perspective, they want everyone to be dangerous but in different ways, and while I agree they are looking at boldur the wrong way, he is going to be toned down in damage

I mean, they literally say otherwise. They are okay with his damage output currently.

He was referring to his axe toss (At least I hope he was) so i replied and told him about how Axe Mastery is broken currently. I always play Boldur when i run into devs online to show them he’s broken and needs to be fixed.

I was, plus we have to remember his axe mastery is bugged too, really once they fix axe toss helixes (hopefully they do) he will be fine besides stupid movement speed

I’m talking about the reddit post where a dev said Boldur’s damage is right where it should be.
