Is mobbing with anyone other than Amara just a chore?

Zane deletes mobs just as quick as Amara with the right setup.

Seein Red isn’t necessary with the Seein Dead class mod, but it can help get things started when you roll into battle.

I prefer maxing out Violent Speed to get more damage out of Violent Momentum.

You really only need 2 points in Salvation, but I generally stick 3 in there to be safe. Seein Dead will proc that enough that maxing it is wasteful.

Ready for action is really helpful if want to use a low capacity shield like the Band of Sitorak for even more damage.

Also mag size is matter of preference, but not really needed if you max out Cool Hand for the reload speed. Either way works tho.

Getting a MOD with points in Playing Dirty is definitely a good idea. Even getting that chance up to 90% is an amazing amount of extra damage.

Here’s what I run with Zane (similar equipment Seein Dead +3 Donny, +2 PD, Pistol damage, SMG damage. Ice breaker victory rush with SMG damage, weapon damage, and mag size. Band of Sitorak and an on throw anointed recurring hex. Cryo anointed rad redistributor, brainstormer, and maggie.)

I was going to say the same. I been going through the DLC on Moze in TVHM4 and not having any issues really. Bottomless Mags + Blast Master + 1hp/64k shield build.

I’ll probably take a couple of points out of Salvation and put them into Cool Hands, I don’t seem to be taking a lot of damage with the barrier up anyway so maxing out Salvation is definitely not necessary.

Not a huge fan of movement speed builds though, absolutely hated Driver Amara for that reason. I find it impossible to aim while zipping around like Sonic, so I’m not sure I’d enjoy maxing out Violent Speed. The extra damage isn’t going to be doing much if I’m missing half my shots!

it s nothing like the driver it s much more regular and controlled speed

I play a Gun Breaker Amara, Red Fang Fl4k, and several different builds with Moze. They all have a blast when mobbing.

You got a good thing going so far. I took mine from K6’s (almost) invincible Zane build and tweaked it to my play style. Once you have a better handle on what everything does it makes it easier figuring out what’s working and what’s not. I ran M4 True Takedown solo last night in just under 10 minutes with this build.

Your title gave me a good laugh, thanks.

I was running clone and drone. Wreaks face.

Clone and drone is some good fun too.

One I haven’t seen much of is clone and barrier. Might play with this idea some …

Love Zane… But I just solo’d TTD with Amara and a pistol… She’s so much fun. I have all 4 characters at 57… But Amara is my main.

I complete the DLC with all 4 character :

  • Played Amara phase Zerker + tie that bind + hell shock, just as you. Honnestly NOTHING in the game can wreck the trash mob like she do, the passage to lvl 57 buffed her massively. She’s not quite as performant against boss though

  • Played Zane with a seein dead classic build. I don’t play redistributor or drone, play it straight ASE. I honnestly struggled a bit at first, until I got the proper weapons. Zane really shine with the new pearl of ineffable knowledge. The new Lob is really great with Zane too. Overall Zane is much more balanced at doing either trash or boss, meaning he shine at neither.

  • Moze : The cutey is still vastly underpowered, and much better at doing trash than doing boss. If you have the proper weapon, playing blastmaster still work well (play mine with triple faisor, it wreck) but very gear dependant, like Zane

  • Fl4k : The robot is doing well for two reason : The new jackobs weapon in the DLC are extremely badass, and now you can have both Power Inside and Megavore, meaning the enemies you can’t crit are still doable

Honestly these days recursion + scourge will carry you for a stupid long way mobbing.

Barrier / Drone Zane here, normally Mayhem 3. Haven’t started DLC2 yet, but quite enjoy mobbing most of the time. Ice Breaker Otto’s + a Cryo Lucian’s Call, with the usual gear in my backpack for backup.

The Lucian’s Call lacks DPS, but with a Kill Skill build (using an Executor COM) unless the modifiers are really stacked against me I find it fun to eternally freeze everyone to death.

I have no issue mobbing with Zane. Banjo and Rad Redistributor, 100% cryo anoint, and they just melt. Banjo shares the damage. In fact it is strongest when there are mobs as the shared damage seems to form a feedback loop.

I concur with my co-op buddy above. We use different gear and different builds for our Zane’s but have no difficulty with simple mobbing at all. The recent Lob BUFF  suits me exceedingly well too. Hated blobbing out 3 unnecessary shots at a time and the wait for the next 3.

Yea, the redistributor really shines best when enemies group up. I don’t know the exact mechanics, but it feels like that amped shot that ricochets gains increased damaged each time it bounces back and forth.

To thread title: I’ve only done DLC2 with Stainless Steel Bear Moze, and the mobbing has been awesome. I’m not sure what OP would consider a ‘chore’ though?

The mob packs seem larger in DLC 2 with reinforcements spawning in quite often. Amara is amazing for this with TTB, grasp the strongest targets and focus them down and everything around them just dies. With my original Zane build my TTK was significantly longer and I was having to focus fire virtually every individual mob. It was just tedious and not fun.

After making some quite significant changes to my Zane build, thanks to advice in this thread, combat now seems to flow much better and I’m clearing packs much faster. I still think Amara is just better for mass aoe at 57. She has access to two capstones that both provide massive DPS boosts where Zane doesn’t really seem to have benefited much from the level increase as his capstones are pretty meh!

I agree. I know other characters have ways of dealing with groups, but in my experience no one does it as cleanly and easily as Amara. I think flak and zane are have the fastest takedowns, but from what I’ve seen those require quite a bit of skill and setup to pull off. Whilst Amara, once you have TTB, mostly works out of the box, so to speak.

I had a similar problem in Diablo 3, where after discovering the Multishot demon hunter, it was hard to play other characters because of how much more efficient it was at clearing dungeons.

Oh and I dislike having to stress about action skill uptime with Zane in between encounters. Amara’s much more chill that way.

Having been an Amara main since first launch… I’m now just discovering the true power of TTB… It’s so much fun, and has no match in other characters for it’s pure dps and ability to clear crowds in a blink of an eye.
