Is something going to be done about PUG's vs premades in the MM

Ok so we know the “skill” based mm is not working… fine…

But what about placing 5 man premade all rank 16 to 18 vs 5 man pug and no one is over rank 13 in the pug…
Next game… 3 man premade all rank 19 vs 5 man random pug with 1 person rank 13 and the rest rank 6 or lower…

This is a bit ridiculous… The random pug vs premade will be the fastest reason for me not play or quit the match before it starts… and just go play something else. full pug team should not be up against a full premade on top of the huge rank disparity between the teams. It’s one thing to get steam rolled when things are more even… both team random pugs and near the same rank… totally different thing when its set to be steam rolled by the MM.

Just want to say that I think this may be a valid concern. In a game like this, the more coordinated team usually wins regardless of player skill. PUGs v Pre-Made heavily favors the Pre-made team.

Is it even possible to implement something like what you’re asking in match-making? I’m new to PvP games so I wouldn’t know. (I’m only familiar with skill-based match-making)

^ Easy as hell. Just match teams of 5 vs teams of 5, teams of 4 vs teams of 4 etc…

Not rocket science.

Do that and the wait time will go up and people will start crying about them. Just form your own team. Make friends, this game is a lot more fun with friends. Made a few since the beta started on Xbox.

Sorry but to bad… the excuse about premade only fight premades wont work because of que times is a copout… that’s what a person who doesn’t care about balance and just wants to steam role would say…

My idea would be would be that the MM would only match players groups of +1 or -1 to the other team… so if its a random pug then the other team would at max have one 2 man team or if one team had a 2 man team the other would at max have a 3 man team etc.

We can have a friendly discussion here, can’t we? I think this is definitely an issue, but I don’t think just because someone doesn’t want to wait in a queue for 30 minutes means they don’t care about balance.

I like the suggestion you made at the end of the post, at least in theory. So, if a full team of 5 came in, they’d be matched up with at least a 4. I’d go so far as to say dropping that down to three might even work (but a group of 3 should still be matched with a group of 2+).

Let me ask you this:
how long will you be willing to wait for a perfect matchup?
how long for a reasonable matchup? (as per your proposal)?

I usually drop out of matchmaking if i see a team of people level 10 or under because i know the other team will be 20+ waiting to spank us.

I really don’t care how long to wait… and 30 mins… please… hyperbowling much? but waitng 5 mins for a game that’s not a 5 mins steam role… ya I rather do that…
