Is the final boss supposed to be this hard?

Christ don’t say that, the thresher (forgotten its name) was hard enough…

You have to run all the way through subconscious to get back there (same goes for using the arena)

I think its a little bit of an oversight to put two popular features that far away from any fast travel stations, but the run does have a few chests along the way and the two clapwolf bosses if you want to go off course.

My shock laser did nothing to him. Which is part of what made that fight much harder for me at that moment. Thankfully I had a shock smg from the holodome that helped.

Probably intentional to make it a farming “run”. I have yet to try to go back there so I’ll see how much it bugs me later. Remember that one map in Borderlands 2 that had Overlook fast trav, and at least 2 other fast travel nodes? heheh. Wow. Quite a jux.

My shock laser actually worked pretty good. It was a maliwan blaster and i was using athena so maybe thats why.

It was strange. It looked like it was literally doing no damage or not even hitting. I suspect it’s some strange bug. Mine was a beam gun that gains damage over time.

I think beams and splitters have a maximum range limit.

Blasters and Rails either don’t have a range limit or just go much further.

I thought I had tried a blaster without results, but I may have only had beams and splitters.

Were you using athena?

I was using claptrap. Unfortunately he is currently spec’d into coop stuff mostly. I feel like he would have had less trouble with the boss if he was spec’d more into the left tree. I used him because he’s the only one I had near level 30 so I could play the DLC in normal first. I have a feeling that a TON of people are going to miss out on hearing the first playthrough version of the commentary. Next I’ll be doing some side missions, revisiting the boss, and then off to try it in UVHM with my level 58 Jack. I have a feeling he’ll knock it out of the park.

Yea thats another reason why you might be having trouble with a shock laser. Athena is amazing and powerful with the elements especially shock and fire.

Yea. I have Athena and Nisha just past 50 as well. Wilhelm, Claptrap and Lady Hammerlock are the 3 I need to work on the most.

Yea i have to back to my lady hammerlock. Shes really really awesome

Yeah, I am struggling with this myself. A bit frustrating to make a non-raid boss this tough.

Anyone have any tips for a level 61 Nisha? Spec recommendations?

Is it vulnerable to a particular element?

I was using shock and corrosive Ol Rosies, and was usually running out of ammo or FFYL time when I got it down to about 25 percent health (first phase, I assume).

The ammo stations re-activate very quickly so ammo can be gathered.

Just keep taking pot shots to keep the shields down while going to the stations.

My Fire Rosie did take the 1st phase (Eclipse?) out (after the shield was down with the Vibrapulse).

Those lasers did nothing against the 2nd phase (EOS). They are both beam (pretty sure), so limited range. I did have a few other lasers. One was an ice blaster, that did nothing to EOS, but ice is not the best against bosses anyways.

I was playing as Claptrap. With Flakker and Fragnum and a few NE glitch guns, the T4s-R did way more damage even to the health than any of the others. The Flakker and Fragnum were nigh useless except for going through ammo … and I did wait for close passes where I could see it was hitting … and only used them after the shield was down.

Didn’t use a laser but my shock torrent worked quite well, though I did have to use about 6 clips worth and the boss was also 6 levels under the gun’s level.

I just find it boring, not hard. I’m playing on UVHM and after beating the first phase I quitted beacause it’s insane to put another boss with a tons of health and shields (that also replenish). It’s just a bullet sponge, it hasn’t insane attacks and it isn’t impossible to get second wind. It’s just boring to unload tons and tons and tons of ammo on it.

Yeah, I think this is correct, for instance my Rosie wasn’t hitting the 2nd phase, whereas a Tediore laser I bought before an RK5 run seemed to have longer range.

Totally disagree. The boosts in health cause you to try and stay alive long enough to pour continuous damage into them. The problem isn’t damage… It’s situational awareness and staying alive. If Eclipse goes into a constant missile spamming mode or EOS is in the last phase where he is spamming those “golden circles of death” WITH missiles and beams AND increased leeches and swarmers… The fight gets wonderfully hectic!!

At level 70 with a Wilhem… Solo… It’s a wonderfully challenging and dicey fight.

Very similar to a lot of Axton fights against Raids in BL2 at OP8.

So for you boring… But not the case for me…at all!

I agree not boring … if it weren’t just for how long it goes on … even the most exciting thing gets boring eventually. This fight gets very close to that line … very, very close. Only to be trumped by Shadow-TP in the arena fight … good grief … makes EOS look like a little kitty cat.

I like this fight…a lot. Good loot and good challenge, nice cover to use. No other boss in the game except the Raid Sentinel is close in challenge. Nice to fight a Boss that has a chance to actually kill me now that I’m at 70. Still having fun figuring out the fastest way to kill him with each character. If they made him much easier he would be a cakewalk too. I can see the point that he is the last boss and you have to beat him to finish the DLC, so two health versions might have been okay.
