It seems like you got a little delayed

It’s been my experience when it comes to things as open ended like this a company would rather err on the side of no comment than make promises that would hurt future possibilities.

Again, just in my experience.

Edit: Like if they say yes they want to do a GOG release but it turns out to not be possible then they are going to get a horrendous amount of flak over it. If they say no but they find it possible later, same thing. It sucks but welcome to developer-customer relationships 101.

I agree. “No answer” includes still the possibility for a positive future answer.

Yeah, from a PR perspective, no comment is the way to go all the way until things are set in stone.

Very true if Gearbox wanna do traditional PR, which is usually nothing than “bad PR” today…

You mean PR that’s not going to get the sued? Yea very ‘bad PR’ that.

Would you rather they say they’re doing a GOG release now and then later say they can’t do it or say nothing now and later do a GOG release?

Nobody can get sued for “we are looking into it”, can they?

Jup, of course the later one would be the better one, but having a “We are looking into it”-post right now and a “Yes, we will do it!” later on would be cooler then both options, wouldn´t it?

Can we all agree that GOG is relevant now?

And with Galaxy up and running and supporting multiplayer with Steam versions, a GOG release would be a great way to increase the playerbase for multiplayer (and keep it unified).

Please?

Thanks, GBX! I’m very happy that Homeworld finally arrived where it belongs, DRM-free on gog.com.

Also, (according to the patch logs), good job with the patch 2.0, which seems to address many (most?) of the community brought up problems with HWR: ballistics, formations, balance ----

Seems you are one good way, seriously appreciated! Keep up the good work!

We’d been planning to release on Gog since last year, very very close to when this patch was started. We wanted to do it ‘with the next patch’ - which ended up taking 9+ months… It wasn’t a last-minute thing, and you guys should also thank Gog, they certainly had a part in it, and are great to work with!
