It was fun, but I (and many I have talked with) feel slighted

There are already multiple other threads on this. The only difference is that the conversation and tone in here was much more aggressive and fatalistic sooner.

I just don’t understand why there’s so much anger directed at Gearbox when it’s entirely possible that the development team isn’t as dismayed (possibly even more) to see their title so heavily discounted. I realise the OP and some others are convinced that Gearbox are the ones who set the marketing decisions, but I’d need to see some evidence of that, because if that’s true, they must have an amazing contract with their publisher (who must in turn have an amazing contract with their retailer…)

My own inclination is to give the creative team the benefit of the doubt and dial down the indignation against the people - coders, artists, writers, designers - whose only clear involvement here is that they made (and are presumably very proud of) the game that happens to be on sale right now.

Song of the Deep…

To the main thread, I feel you. Be happy the intent behind it is less about cheating you and more about enriching the player base.

Yeah, they do and it’s terrible how much money I sunk into them. I didn’t think GBX would give me and others that kind of feeling. Money lost type feeling.

I’m not a teacher of any sorts. It just helps everyone out when you or anyone can at least begin a sentence with an upper cased letter and end it with some sort of punctuation. Gives our minds a sec to pause and start again.:acmaffirmative:

No worries.

I really wasn’t writing this to tell players or others here that I hated them or the game. Not at all. It was more that I felt cheated and miffed as to why anyone would do something like drop the price so fast and hard and NOT expect people to be upset. It sucks the life out of some gaming for people. Feeling slighted or cheapened is not a good feeling and I was just trying to project that to the GBX team.

Hey, if they came on here and said “Man, we are sorry and in no way thought this would ever happen.” I’d be happy. But I am but only one. They don’t have to do that for anyone at all. I am nobody special in the grand scheme of things. It will also never happen because that would show the parent company (2k) that they are unhappy with them, further causing a rift within the company. So all in all. This is more about having a platform to say the things we want in a way that lets them know how we feel. For some of us that is slighted…for others it’s just business as usual.

Hi everyone, I just want to say I agree with ch72479. I’m on the other side of this, I played CTT and I really love it, but I don’t want to buy the game at release but now I’m gonna buy it for cheaper price. Here in Hungary a new title is around 18.000 HUF ($63), but now it’s only 14.000 ($49). So I think I’m win.

I hope there are enough players for a long time. I hope dumb people realise there is nowhere even near being an equivalent in Battleborn and Overwatch, I think that misunderstanding is why it isn’t doing as well as it should be. The similarities between these two start and end at being a hero based FPS.

I think this pretty much sums it up on how I feel. I like the game. It’s really good. I feel like this:

I see A lot of negativity on most forums this one was ok for a bit. Just kind of seems like senseless bashing/ranting after awhile, especially when you see many similar threads like the 1 billion nerf galilia threads. Not just the gearbox forums either like all gaming forums. I know the world isn’t a peachy place n all but still gets a bit annoying to me, not that, that their annoying just the way they say things so rudely. Gearbox actually listens not like you have to be so rude about things :no_mouth:
I like to go on forums to talk about like future squeals the lore and such then you see “toxic threads” spurt a bunch ruins your experience kinda :kissing_smiling_eyes:
we both just got out of hand maybe, lets just forget about it :mask:
(knowing gearbox they might actually do something special for the early buyers anyways)

No worries. Seriously. I wasn’t trying to bash them as a terrible company or that I hate the game. I love that they listen to us and the game is relatively fun. Super fun! I wasn’t trying to be negative at all. I just don’t take kindly to people that call me “son” when they do not know me. I had a feeling and a thought and figured I expressed it right, but I rubbed people the wrong way. Never my intent. Not at all.

Again, no worries man. Hopefully I’ll see you on the game and we can get some good games in. I am not stopping my play as much as just not focusing on the one title anymore.

Haha, it’s how the subject has made me feel. We all love the game. That’s why we are here. And I haven’t given up on it in the sense that I think it’s broken or even unplayable.

UK amazon has it at the lower price and doesn’t mention anything about a sale, so would say that looks like a price cut personally.
but as you and people have said, gearbox have no control over this.

No full price AAA game drops almost 30-50 percent in price this fast(3 weeks after launch) not counting russian keys ofc.It just goes to show that the game is doing VERY poorly. And this got to the point where GB couldn’t afford to hide it anymore thus they have to drop the price which is a big slap to the face of early adopters if they weren’t desperate there’s no way they would do this. This is not a counter measure to OW it’s just a desperate struggle for this game to survive a little bit longer.Tho i would consider 2k amount of players for moba a pretty dead community already. There’s no way you can have a decent mm with that small player pool.

It’s on sale on GMG, Amazon, Walmart, BestBuy, Gamestop,. Gearboxes own website / 2K’s website.

Basically, if a store sells Battleborn, it’s on sale. So stop acting like this is “just one place”

Aren’t you that guy who still hasn’t bought BB and yet comments on things all the time?

Sales happen people, move on. I do not get this at all, it happens literally ALL THE TIME.

Someone get’s a cool set of shoes? Oh no, two weeks later someone else got them for 10 bucks cheaper! Well, you had the enjoyment of having them first.

BB came out with prices you had viewed and said to yourself “that’s worth the money/that’s in my budget.” You bought it, you enjoyed it for 3 weeks and you had it first.

Now it’s cheaper and suddenly you’re saying “well if I had KNOWN that it would be cheaper after time passes…”(which is just hilarious) then would you also be griping about the shoes you bought? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone gripe about shoes going on sale, have you?

Best part of this entire thread.

I chuckled at this

For your analogy to have worked, Battleborns number 2,3 and 4 would need to be released and accessible by the public. The reason your tv is cheaper is that new models are out.

I know this isn’t the point… and I know that no one else cares…

But I just want to step in and argue that
33.3% is not “almost half” off the full game (59.99 --> 39.99)
26.7% is not “almost half” off the DDE (74.99 --> 54.99)

Sorry… Math…

How dare you claim that…this was to celebrate the release of the 1st dlc character, Alani.

Way too many personal comments, after a couple of requests to avoid that stuff. Warnings now being given.

I strongly recommend that new users read the forum rules before posting.

Propaganda!!! LOL. I’m a vendor, I deal with price-points, market value, and Ad prices all day long man. You are so full of s!%t here, its not even funny. A distributor can sell for whatever price they choose, and the seller can in fact sell at any price THEY choose.
