I just got a level 72 Skullmasher from Son of Mothrakk! Frickin’ finally!

It’s no Skookum and it has no Jakobs grip, but hey, at least it has a Dahl stock and there are worse prefixes out there than Tumtum. It took four underleveled drops before I got a level 72 one, so I’m not complaining. As a bonus, SoM also dropped his exclusive skin for the commando. I’m a happy camper! Thanks so much for increasing the drop rate, Gearbox!

Random world drops…got a OP6 Neogenator from an Ultimate Badass…Loader.
Logan’s Gun from a trash pile, a Bee from a Scavenger, an Emperor from a bullymong pile in Gingerton and now this one xD

I actually got one (different prefix) from Pete after reading the drop rate announcement. In all the years I’ve killed Pete, this is the first time he dropped a skullmasher.

Is it me or all the drops now are at the players current level? I’d appreciate any feedbacks.

I was trying to get it from the midgets or the loot train, just because farming Son of Mothrakk is a huge pain in the ass. I only got it to drop from the midgets once, during my first UVHM playthrough. Never got it from the train. After they started increasing the drop rate I decided to try SoM for it. The bastard dropped four underleveled ones before I got the one in the picture. Two of the underleveled ones were from today’s run as well, so I’m sorry to inform you that the drops are still not guaranteed to be on level. The first Skullmasher I got today was a level 70 Ti’kope, the second one was a level 71 all Jakobs Skookum (man, did that piss me off) and only then I got my level 72 Tumtum.

nope, drops still don’t always come at your level, everything is pretty much under you level first 2 palythrus, your best bet for at level weapons would be UVHM, but even that is a hit and miss at times

The reason I asked is since I read the announcement, I put it to a test and to make it bit easier, I farmed Pete in 72. Every legendary I got in like 30 something runs was @ level so I wondered. Did they finally listen, could it be that…

I could be wrong, but I think the Raid bosses (like Pete) tend to drop gear at your level or level cap for the mode you are playing. I was farming Pete in UVHM yesterday and got 2 or 3 Legendary items. They were all level 50 (cap for TVHM), even though my character is level 72.

Yup. Skookum prefix, Jakobs grip, Jakobs stock. Even the sight was Jakobs. Dahl stock would be better, but I’d take it and cherish it forever just for the consistency in parts… If it wasn’t for the fact that it was level 71. I agree that the level banding for legendary items needs to go. It should’ve never been there in the first place. I don’t know about Pete, but drops from the Warrior and the loot train are always on level, so it could be the same for Pete. I never farmed Pete (will start doing that soon, though). If they can make the loot drop on level for those guys, they probably could make it so for all of the other sources too.

It’s true, Raid bosses always drop level-appropriate gear. The Warrior and BNK-3R are classified as Raid bosses so they do the same.

I haven’t played Sal long enough to familiarize myself with the maInhand/offhand effects on weapons when gunzerking. This may sound like a newbie question but are you holding the orphan maker on the offhand instead of the grog nozzle to void its curse effect? Thanks.

Bunch of random stuff yesterday including two world drops, a b*tch from a stalker pile in WEP and a sham dropped from a loader/surveyor during talon of god. Interesting.

Pete seems to drop everything at 72, but I killed around 10-15 tubbies and I only got 2 or 3 at-level COMs.

10th and final run at Bunker today he dropped an 86% Sham (Previous best was 84%), and in the chest I found a Corrosive Nasty Surprise, pretty happy with that for a single run. I also came across a Rightsizing Bitch a few runs earlier. Definitely liking these increased drop rates.
