Do they ever? He has made plenty of QoL adjustment suggestions for Zane so they made him the Seein’ Dead mod.
Joking
They never listen to @studdugie , seriously.

Long term, I think a difficulty slider - even if it’s just a “simulate 1, 2, 3, or 4 players” - would be the solution that would make the most people happy (or at least reduce the number of unhappy ones the most). Folks were asking for one in BL2 and TPS, and there was a effectively one for BL1 on PC. There is of course the one in the main game menu (Easy or Normal), but I really have no sense of what that does or whether it even effects the Takedown.
There will always be a huge spread in Borderlands player ability for many reasons.
Glad I got to try this Maliwan DLC. I like the mob density, but Wotan is… not that fun? I have more fun on the way there with the mini bosses and unique enemies. (Not asking for a change, it’s just not my cup of tea). He dropped some gear I didn’t have before, so I’m good.
Yeah, also not a hardcore farmer: lots of world drops and trades got me some decent loot (I’m not looking for raid-perfect gear though, so my bar for ‘good’ gear is relatively low).
I’d be pretty psyched if they brought back the OP system. People who didn’t like it in BL2 can skip purchasing this DLC this time around, where the rest of us can rock a proper difficulty slider and gear enhancer.
I think Mayhem modes is supposed to be BL3’s version of OP but instead of an addon it’s more tightly integrated and is a core part of the difficulty system. But I could be wrong.
I’ll probaby be more into the Mayhem modes if/when we get a backpack expansion. I only need like a minimum of 10 more spaces (20 would be nice - anything more would be gravy).
I do enjoy letting the game roll some difficulty dice for me that I have to work around on the fly, but at the moment, keeping enough gear on hand to rise to the occasion for any given difficulty mix as I run from map-to-map (without just banking a handful of the ‘best’ gear) means I don’t have enough room to pick anything up.
I would be 100% on board. Whenever my wife decides again, she honestly hates challenging things. A post similar to the Mayhem statue thingy where you click a side or the other to scale it next to the Takedown’s entrance door will work.
from me
Actually scale the world! Post it next to the Mayhem post and run 4 player difficulty anywhere you want, not just takedown! Am I going too far now @studdugie ?
I think that’s GREAT idea! Being able to do the story and side missions at 4 player difficulty is the ONLY reason I would have to do the story again on a max level character.
We are on to something here,…
That was a feature that I employed on occasion in BL2 with the UCP when I wanted to spice up the local mobs… wouldn’t say no to having this baked in to BL3.
I made it to Wotan a few times this weekend. I really enjoy this. I don’t know if I’ll have the time to beat him. I don’t farm or have a build, preferring to fly by the seat of my pants. With enough run throughs I could beat Wotan.
I was hoping they might consider leaving it as it is. But wouldn’t that have the effect of nerfing it for people who want to solo it when it is scaled for four players?
It’s still buggy. Troopers that can’t be killed, audio drops out, Wotan shield glitches… none of them game stoppers, but still…
They FINALLY did!
–Major pats on the back–
“You did it man, you finally did it! Lets go home, our job here is done here.”
Rides off in the sunset,…

Well looks like I have evidence to the contrary now.
Don’t think he was mad about that, but the fact said person complains here they are bored and their equipment is overpowered when they got them as gifts or trading, meanwhile many of us cant get one item as good as said person who may just get said items nerfed via the complaints. Its like the super builds you see on Youtube that come from donations or other means that get items nerfed before regular people get many or any of the items. If the past was not so fraught with big nerfs it might not cause a response I assume.
I have a sneaky suspicion that “said person” may be me
If you are interested the fixation and conversation about my gear has spread …
As for items being nerfed GBX has been rather clear and consistent about why things get nerfed. A lot of people aren’t happy with their logic and some folks simply ignore the fact that they use a system to evaluate nerfs and choose to believe theirs or other’s conspiracy theories. But nevertheless the facts are that GBX does have a system and it has nothing to do with complaints. If you would like the information that backs up my statement you can search the forums for posts by me for the word “outliers”.
As for my boredom. It’s been cured because I’ve been making Zane proving grounds speed run builds/vidoes; and just in time too given that with this week’s hotfix the final chests’ drop rates now increase based on completing the optional objectives (a feature I made for y’all
). So anyone who mains Zane and want to efficiently farm proving grounds can use my videos to get it done.
My personal philosophy is that I don’t get on the forums to yell at the world. I had a really good experience on the Battleborn forums and when BL3 came out I decided to participate on these forums in an attempt to bring some of that positive energy I was exposed to during Battleborn. But I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, I get it.
